Email of the Moment #15
In response to my mocking of the horrible acting by the guy in the Listerine commercial ( http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/destroy3 ), one of his friends emailed me.

Hi. I just read your article on the Listerine guy. I happen to know Steve very well. He is a great guy indeed. I know for sure that he got so much $$$$$$ (yes, count the digits) from that commercial and I am very happy for him. It was supposed to be a test shooting only, and then Listerine cut the budged down and they aired it aggressively afterwards. Trust me, there are few honest, good people among us and Steve is one of them. He is also a male model, (very successful one), he just got married to a beautiful young lady and I am really proud to be his friend.

Pretty sad that he has to get his friends (or pose as a friend) to reaffirm his so-called success in life. Fact of the matter is, this guy could very well be the nicest guy on the planet and it wouldn't matter for shit. Why? Because I was making fun of his piss-poor acting job in that stupid commercial, nothing more. Even Troma wouldn't hire him to act in a movie. He's just that bad.

The Listerine guy looks like he's rinsing pine-sol through his mouth. Although, Listerine is very much like Pine-Sol.

It's probably The Listerine Guy himself pretending to be one of his friends, because he doesn't have any actual friends. How sad is that?

I injest listerine and pine-sol anally. Steve needs to do the same, had he done this in commercial it would be lots better.

cant't Listerine afford to let the guy have some of it's brutal-liquid-from hell to try on the test shot but willing to pay him $$$$$$ for that shot??

Why did this moron think you'd care about his life. I agree - this guy could be out there right now making the blind see, the lame walk while simultaneously curing AIDS in Africa, burning cocaine fields in Colombia and kicking Barney the Purple Dinosaur in the dick for all it matters. Shit actors are shit actors, and they deserve to be disgraced. Hell, with all the wannabe actors in Hollywood out there slitting each other's throats to get ahead, I'm surprised these inept, lobotomized morons that do TV commercial work so badly haven't all been burned to death for their crimes.

Son: "Hey Daddy! Mom says you used to be an actor - did you ever do anything big?"
Dad: "Yes."
Son: "You were in a big budget movie with all kinds of glitz and glamour?"
Dad: "No."
Son: "You were in a successful, soul-stirring theatre run like Olivier?"
Dad: "Erm... no."
Son: "What then?"
Dad: "I was in a Listerine commercial once."
Son: "... I'm adopted, aren't I?"
