HALO3 beta

fags, who's in this?

the_dudefather May 16th, 2007 05:37 PM

I have crackdown, so me I guess.

its great to look at the bungie forums and see people going nuts, trying to get a class action lawsuit together because of the delay, stating how much they hate 'crapdown' and 'how they paid $60 for the beta but they cant play it'

its almost put me off playing halo 3 as they will be the ones teabagging my corpse and calling me a 'uber fag'

Fathom Zero May 16th, 2007 06:16 PM

I'm gonna buy one from the marketplace because my friend is gay and won't let me borrow Crackdown.

Is the Marketplace not working for you guys, too?

Shifty May 16th, 2007 06:42 PM

yeah its funny to see the halo nerds freaking out about not being able to play it.
Im in it but i got crackdown so it will be a while.....

the_dudefather May 16th, 2007 06:43 PM

buy one from the marketplace? o.O

Fathom Zero May 16th, 2007 07:14 PM

That's what my goofy friend said. 800 points if I'm not mistaken.

ArrowX May 17th, 2007 12:19 AM

my favorite thing about the entire beta is the fan reaction. It follows the pattern of "Were filing a lawsuit because of false advertising!, YAY the beta works, this game sucks, its liek halo2 :(" Then one poster threatened to go to their offices "VIGINIA" TECH style.

I didn't know the halo fan base was this stupid and childish.

the_dudefather May 17th, 2007 04:22 AM

its up, and they have added an extra 4 days to the beta because of the delay

I never really got into halo 2 online, but so far I'm finding this pretty cool, the new brute spiker gun and grenade are fun to use.

Shifty May 17th, 2007 04:34 AM

the brute shot isnt new

the_dudefather May 17th, 2007 05:32 AM

meant the smg type one, or is that not new either, whatever it is called

Shifty May 17th, 2007 06:03 AM

yeah the funky lookin smg is new

ArrowX May 17th, 2007 08:35 AM

the spiker is cool, but it seems like they didn't know what to do with it. Its awesome getting 2 of them and turning someone into a pincushion

MetalMilitia May 17th, 2007 09:33 AM

It's hilarious how whenever something is delayed slightly you always get a bunch of 14 year old kids threatening a class action lawsuit. It's almost as if someone has taken a massive shit in all of their respective hats.

Same thing happened when the 8800 series Vista drivers were a couple of weeks late.

I would be so great if Bungie made a fake press release saying that due to possible litigation proceedings they have cancelled the HALO beta launch for Crackdown owners. The fanboys would throw the most amusing hissy-fit in the history of the Internet.

Shifty May 17th, 2007 09:59 AM

id give up the halo 3 beta to see that

kahljorn May 17th, 2007 03:18 PM

you guys should seriously do it all we have to do is write a fake release and then post links to it everywhere acting as outraged as halo3 players would be.

Maybe we could say it was delayed indefinitley due to an accusal of copyright infringement or something...

MetalMilitia May 17th, 2007 05:14 PM

It'd be hard to do though as we'd need a reputable looking site to post it on.

I figure if we had a professional looking site on a domain such as haloinsider.com (which is available), with a bunch of real news stories dated to look like the site has been going for a while it might be possible.

We could have a fake insider scoop long the lines of:

BETA Release Backlash
Sources at Bungie have leaked to us that there may be a severe backlash over the recent user reaction to the delayed HALO 3 Beta.

Though wishing to remain anonymous our source has indicated to this reporter that growing fears for the well being of company employees and threats of legal action may lead to HALO 3 being delayed indefinitely, so as to conduct a thorough risk assessment. Company lawyers are said to be in talks with Microsoft and an official announcement is likely to be made in the next few days.

Our source had the following to say about the situation:

"I'm totally stunned at the community's reaction to the delay - within hours of the realisation that Crackdown users would not be getting the beta at the announced time [our] office began receiving threatening e-mails and telephone calls. We called the police and they agreed to station an officer outside the building. It was a frightening experience and makes me question if I'm in the right industry.
We understand that a lot of people want to get their hands on the game but this was incomprehensible."

---------

To be honest though, it's a lot of effort to go to for prank as easily disprovable.

kahljorn May 17th, 2007 06:46 PM

True, the trick to it is the relative retardedness of Halo players who apparently start screaming at any sign of delay.... it's possible that even writing something that says it will be delayed for two months would make them flip out. lol.

Sam May 17th, 2007 07:56 PM

It wouldn't be that hard, just get a tech blog to post it as truth. A couple days ago Engadget posted a blog about this email they recieved about the iPhone being delayed and it made Apple stock plummet a couple of BILLION dollars. It was a fake email but everyone beleived it. :(

Ant10708 May 17th, 2007 07:57 PM

the iphone is being delayed though.

Matt Harty May 18th, 2007 12:07 AM

This is really fucking sad. I know people who took the day off just to play the beta.

I mean please, i'd be excited to alpha or beta test a brand new game. But Halo 3 is NOTHING new. Besides some new maps and weapons, it's the same fucking game that people have already played. That gameplay and mechanics haven't changed at all.

So why everybody is in such an insane hurry to play is beyond me. It's beyond me why these millions of kids think they have any reason to be taken seriously in a beta that the developers never had to involve them in. If they bought Crackdown just for Halo 3 online testing, they retarded and have more money than braincells. Suing Bungie really won't fix that issue.

ArrowX May 18th, 2007 12:26 AM

If I were budgie I would have killed the beta, pushed back the release and guaranteed them that the old pistol won't be in this one. Ive never seen a fan base so entirely annihilated by a mere 8 hour delay and the misconception of what a beta is.

Shifty May 18th, 2007 02:15 AM

anyone intrested in formin a party add me

yes you did, don't lie

ArrowX May 18th, 2007 01:27 PM

I very didn't I though the fan base for halo was the moderate casual gamers, and that the Hardcores stuck with Half Life 2, but Ive been proven wrong.

Fathom Zero May 18th, 2007 10:58 PM

That's what I thought, too.

Anytime there's a big-name game (beta or otherwise) released, though, kids shit themselves when there's something that goes moderately wrong. I don't want to go into it, but the PSP Hacking Scene (if you could even call it that) is nothing but a bunch of twelve year old kids whining about how the latest update won't let them play their illegally downloaded ISOs. Then they're saying that they're going to sue Sony for making them update. Gay. I don't think even a quarter of 'em would even know what legal action was if it bit them in the ass. The thing is that there will always be this kind of person that will throw his hands up, aghast that the world could possibly be so cruel as to make him wait an extra day for his Halo 3 beta, (which is just a goddamned BETA.)

I digress.

And I still can't access the marketplace. I wanted to download the Shivering Isles. :(
