As someone who can't remember what they had for breakfast yesterday, I LOVE this sort of thing - this whole site is full of nostalgia for things I used to have/watch/love & can't remember anymore XD

Wow - I had that MEGO exploding bridge playset when I was a kid....for about an hour, long enough to realize the little plunger/TNT gadget that was supposed to make the bridge blow up didn't work. So then I had a 2nd MEGO exploding bridge playset....for maybe another hour until I realized 2 things: The plunger/TNT gadget wasn't designed very well, and my parent's tolerance for returning toys extended to two return trips to the toy store and that was it. Ended up swapping it for a System 7 toy gun system. Find one of those today and I'd be amazed.
But, in hindsight - $400 value for the exploding bridge today? I should have kept the 2nd one I got.
Awesome looking place Rog.

He was selling it for around $1500 if memory serves... he actually had a custom enclosure created for it, so it looked like it was part of a mine cart on tracks (kind of like that chase scene in Temple of Doom). Definitely worth the price.

I want that Ghostbusters sign :(

I wanted My Pet Monster so badly but didn't get it. So I rented the movie. Don't make the mistake I did. That movie is so bad it's bad.

Check out Retro Tunneler/Drill Sergent mixed in with the action figures! That is some definate randomness!

Aww hell, I know where that is! They used to have weird hybrid indie-wrestling/luchadore wresting matches in just... a parking lot in that industrial park. Like you'd just pull into a lot and they'd set up a ring and, like, 200 chairs around the ring and crazy-ass indie wrestling would ensue.

The girl who sold you nachos before the show would be the manager of the dude in the third match. I miss LA.

I will never understand why when people win the lottery they go out and buy fancy houses and cars with insurance they'll never be able to afford when there lotto money runs out. Me? I'm spending all my money on crap like this! I could spend hours in a store like that. Its cool they let you take photos too.

Swear to the powers, if you took requests, Rog, you'd have a heck of a business. Curious as to how much those NES games were going for. It's hard enough finding some of them, even harder finding them in the box.

Nick Nov 16th, 2010 06:21 AM

Did you buy anything, Rog? How much did those NES games with boxes go for? :D

The games were all different prices depending on which ones you wanted, but all fairly reasonable

Yeppers, I got a copy of Joust for the Atari Lynx and a classic Iron Sheik figure (the same one I featured in the Remote Control Zombie video). I'm sure I'll buy more next time I go, but this first time was really just to scope out the place and see what fun stuff they had for sale.
