FESTER'S QUEST.

If you haven't played it, you suck. Furthermore, it has some of the best game music ever. Ever. EVER.

EVER!>:

BulletCatcher Feb 23rd, 2003 02:56 PM

SOME OF, but not THE BEST.

We all know Mega Man rules in that category.

No. Splatterhouse 2 and 3 along with comix zone have the best game music. Splatterhouse 2 theme is the best game theme ever >:

Btw, I played fester's quest a little, but I didn't play it much because those fucking addams family members don't gimme enough advice >:

:love nes sunsoft :love Blaster Master has some rad beats too :rock

Spectre X Feb 23rd, 2003 03:40 PM

I haven't played it. now don't give me that stuff about me sucking, cause, as far as I know, they haven't released it Holland. besides, I can't imagine any game music being better than "Hell March 2" from Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. that tune just rocked so good man. second comes "Hell March"from normal Red Alert.

mew barios Feb 23rd, 2003 04:30 PM

there are far far too many games with stunningly kickass music to call any one thing the best. imo. :o

what makes fester's quest unusual is that you'd never expect it to have such awesome music. :O and it's definitely worth checking out just for that.

Skulhedface Feb 23rd, 2003 04:43 PM

you overlooked Castlevania :(

whoreable Feb 23rd, 2003 04:46 PM

music or not it was a pretty kickass game either way.

FQ or Castlevania? They BOTH kicked ass ::shrugs::

whoreable Feb 23rd, 2003 04:50 PM

But since the previous post referred to Castlevania, and you didn't point out which you were talking about... hmm.

But who am I to nitpick?

James Feb 23rd, 2003 06:36 PM

First the Resident Evil movie. Now this? Damn dude, you need to start liking good things again. :(

I think it might've been. The only time I played it was when I rented it at a videostore.

I don't really remember the music. Must find a rom of it.

James Feb 24th, 2003 11:38 AM

I actually own it. I really don't remember it being any good. It seemed very long, and you couldn't save or anything (you can now with roms), and the difficulty in some parts considered "instant death."

But maybe this is just my childish lack of gaming skills from back in the day. Maybe, MAYBE I'll go check it out again.

As for the ROM, people seem to forget that there are a handful of console roms right here on I-Mockery: http://www.i-mockery.com/classicgame...ters-quest.zip

The reviewer gave it straight 1's. ;)

mew barios Feb 24th, 2003 12:37 PM

it's a pretty tough game. when you lose your 3 lives or whatever it sends you back to the very beginning. :(

James Feb 24th, 2003 02:39 PM

Exactly. :(

That's what I really despised about most NES games. They would almost never include a save feature. Or at least a "continue from the start of this level" feature.

Christ, the only games I can think of offhand would be Zelda's battery backup, and MegaMan's password system. And RPGs, naturally.

Anonymous Feb 24th, 2003 04:51 PM

The best part was that when the game first came out, commercials would tout the fact that you had to start from the very beginning as though it were a great feature for the game to have.

Skulhedface Feb 24th, 2003 06:31 PM

Thank GOD for roms in that case. I would've been ruining more controllers than I did in the 80s. Back when I had the skills but no patience. Now that seems to have switched, so I feel for you Jamesman.

James Feb 25th, 2003 01:57 AM

BEST FACE EVER :lol

Skulhedface Feb 25th, 2003 01:58 AM

Jamesman, does that mean you found an archive? Or did you just search for that box?

James Feb 25th, 2003 02:03 AM

Like I said. I can find some console-specific ones (like NES and... NES). But I can't find a database for every console.

Anonymous Feb 25th, 2003 02:05 AM

Is it just me, or does Fester have the beginnings of a good pirate face?

James Feb 25th, 2003 02:10 AM

Actually it's more like a "Grandma has scrambled egg vagina" face. :(

That was a problem on the SNES too. Remember Jurassic Park? I played it eight hours straight once, and I don't think I was close to finishing it.

StRsCrEaM1090 Mar 29th, 2003 11:37 PM

fester's quest was really hard, allthough it's not like you started over completly when you did die, you'd still have the whip, puzzle piece things, and all of the items youd get from the houses. now that i think of it the music was pretty bitchen, my fav tunes were when you were in the 3d maze buildings and the sewr music. are there any cheets for this game i'd like to beat it some day.
