Bush Shows the Irish his Stupid

On Irish Tv, Bush said

"People join terrorist organizations because there's no hope and there's no chance to raise their families in a peaceful world where there is not freedom"

AND

"These people are willing to kill innocent people. They're willing to slaughter innocent people to stop the advance of freedom,"

So... Uhm... People become terrorists because they're hopeless on account of their being no freedom... and their aim as terrorists is to... uh... stop the advance of freedom. because they want... freedom so badly they'll stop at nothing to keep from being... free.

Of course he also says the world is a much safer place since we went to war in Iraq, so it's not like they weren't getting what a blind monkey our president is.

"Now watch this drive!"

I love you Max. I love you as I love an un-caring monkey in a suit and a bowler hat and who has a penchant for punching people in their mommy-daddy place.

That's a lot of love. And that's how much I love you.

When he said "these people", was he refering to the small change guys, or the people running the organizations? Because, if its the latter, then his statement does make sense.

But hey, why bother with full quotes or context? Political punditry has no use for truth or rational thinking. Just blame the other team.

Isn't the fact that he used the phrase "these people" enough?

El Blanco Jun 25th, 2004 03:01 PM

No, because it isn't neccisserily in an ethnic context. If he points out that he is refering to a specific group, "these people" is actually correct (ok grammatically, it could be better).

Okay, see, now I'm even more lost than before. It scares me that our president speaks like Vinth. I'm starting to think there are Aliens in our midst, or some mutant strain, or a brain cancer epidemic genetically tied to right wing republicanism.

It's important to explain terrorism to a country that has, in it's history, never known terrorism. Maybe they will learn something from this little exchange.
