That was one of my mom's favorite films when she first saw it. At the time she was working in a facility like that.

I didn't see it until after I'd graduated high school. I made the mistake of reading the book first, making the movie not as good as the one the majority of the population saw!

I'm surprised nobody has re-made that movie yet. They remake every other fucking thing in the world. A true-to-the-book version of that could be potentially awesome if they did certain scenes right.

I was thinking about that a week ago. The telling of the story from the chiefs perspective a long with "the fog" and "the machinery".

I just want to see the electro-shock therapy sequence.

The movie could be totally fucking awesome but people don't like making good movies anymore.

Maybe if they make Chief Bromden a serial killing ghost who haunts iPhones and the only way to protect yourself is to upgrade to the new hands-free-and-ghost-free iPhone.

It's my favorite movie. I guarantee they'd screw up a remake one way or another.

Well it wouldn't be a remake of the film, it would be a different interpretation of the book.

But yeah, they'd fuck up either because:
1. people would be expecting a remake of the movie and be confused
2. they just do an overall bad job at translating the book into a film

Ken Kesey refused to watch the movie because they changed it so much. Either he refused to watch it, or he finally did many years later when he saw it on TV in the middle of the night. I don't remember, but it's a little nugget of trivia I knew in 2004!
