I so wish that Jackson would go back to his roots.

I have a friend who everytime he plays a game where you kill demons or the like yells out "I kick ass for the lord!". Drives me nuts. :)

Nice review, man. I wasn't expecting another out of you. This one is definitely more well written than the last, and summarises Dead Alive well. Jackson's early work blows LotR out of the water.

and lo, the lawnmower quickly became a favorite zombie-dispatching weapon... second only to chainsaws and shotguns. :P

"I kick ass for the Lord" is oft-quoted among my friends too. Nicely done.

One of the greats. BAD TASTE is still way better though.

"Party's over." VRRRRRMMMMM

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre isn't gory at all, by the way.

I have at home an original 12 foot long "Braindead" vinyl banner from our local cinema when it came out. The tagline on it is "a love story of a boy, a girl and some power tools". Classic!

I had the good luck to catch Dead Alive at a midnight screening a few years back, and it's even more enjoyable on the big screen. Also, I think it added to the film to be able to watch it with an audience of rowdy/drunken movie-goers.

"Our film opens with a story about raped monkeys. No, seriously. We learn of the murderous Sumatran Rat-Monkey and its origin on the fabled Skull Island."

. . .Also, I don't recall the scene where the monkey is raped. Perhaps I blocked it out.

I have never seen this movie. I should correct that.

Does anyone here like Meet The Feebles?

Thanos Oct 24th, 2010 09:09 PM

Terrible-D: The part about raped monkeys happens off-camera. It's tied up in the origin of the Sumatran Rat-Monkey and how they came to be.

'I kick ass for the lord' isn't my favourite quote, mine is 'that's my mother you're pissing on'.
