http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=2...4e75f6e8ebb871 Here is one I was working on tonight...the high parts should be the guitar

That was fun to listen to...not really a good bassline to pick because it was when I had a fretless bass and I sucked at playing it.

MattJack Aug 21st, 2009 09:59 PM

I thought it was fretless.

What key is your new one in?

MajorScales Aug 21st, 2009 10:17 PM

G string 14/11/9

later when it drops down to the high part again it reverses

G string 9/11 to D 11/12/9 climbing 7/5 ( you can mess with that)

I'm not sure how to turn stuff into guitar chords.

MattJack Aug 21st, 2009 11:05 PM

:smirk

it's okay I gotcha

MajorScales Aug 21st, 2009 11:20 PM

G string >: dammit

My homeboy, who is an audio engineering whiz, cleaned up the song and I have re-posted it on garageband.com with an in-depth history of the mighty but obscure band which spawned this masterpiece.

25 years of playing with fingers I've switched to pick and can see how much easier it is to pick up some speed but that song is blinding fast...does the singer get a sore throat?

It's pretty mellow. Quite the contrast when I listen to this and then immediately listen to Sspad's stuff :lol

I would suggest you turning up your bass a little bit, or turn the drums down.

I've got company all weekend so I'll get to it sometime this week between work and school.

I did the vocals on one take, so it's not too bad. Five or six would have pretty well shredded my throat.

Today I finally had my drummer and guitarist show up...they only can show up once or twice every few months (they have little kids) its full sessions so they are long and might be a boring for some. When I make the bass lines I'm playing what I think the guitar should be doing and the bass so it might sound confusing to some because I do both. All the songs are taken from my bass lines and I would like them to not be loop sounding. I'm trying to figure out how to break the songs up so they have more tempo changes and maybe get a singer...Its hard when you can't sing >:

Not my band, but a good friend of mine plays in it. Note: those myspace songs are about three years old and their new material is a lot better.

Cool they like Rush...

I recently got myself a copy of Virtual DJ, so with time and luck, I'll be able to actually make a decent mix or two. Wish me luck.

kgp4death Oct 10th, 2009 01:06 AM

here is a couple tracks i made back in the day no lyrics. I will get back to messing around with music again after my rom hack is done.......this will be the first time anyone has heard them, maybe i will start my own thread so i can get some feed back. I think one is a remake of another maybe 2 and 3.

They all suck but Song1 is way better then the others.

I made a quick Kaskade mix; the intro fucked up, but I think I did okay with the rest. :/
Also made an Ambience mix; youtube this time, to make it easier for most.

Ignore the retarded background.

Fuck it, I finally just made a youtube account for these. Check by if you feel like it; feedback is always nice.

I added another song to http://www.myspace.com/perroscantantes called "spider." It's at the bottom of the list.

Dommin Dec 5th, 2009 06:59 AM

Who made another album? Why, I did.

Lights Out, God Help Me - Lies.

How about some comments on this one? It has a Daft Punk cover. >_>

MattJack Dec 6th, 2009 10:18 PM

Hmm I listened to a good bit of your album.

I feel like you've sort of put yourself into a box. It seems to me that you use the same synths over and over. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but some of the tracks just sort of sound a whole lot alike. I think maybe the drum tracks could have a little more flare, and as well as maybe working on the levels of the over all production. Also, I think you should try sampling more or recording your own vocals and then manipulating the wav into something strange instead of using the Microsoft Sam stuff so much. It's OK in conservative moderation, but I wouldn't overly use it as much, personally.

I hope the paragraph above doesn't come across as dickish or anything man. I don't want to discourage anyone in the slightest from posting their work. I was just putting in my two cents.

Filth, Humdrum, In Which We Shame The Devile, and Disinfective are my favorites. I like Filth's breakdown synth near 2:40. Humdrum has a classic hard techno/industrial sound to it that I can dig on. Disinfective's drum tracks remind me of early electro/80s and I pretty much have a constant hard on for that kind of music. IWWStD has a whole lot of potential and I think you should revisit it. Maybe you can send me some of the synth lines and we could collab if you wouldn't mind ;)

Cheers

Decided to make a myspace page to upload my bullshi* like the rest of the world.

http://www.myspace.com/mattjacksounds

Punch Out! cover is the only thing I have uploaded right now. School and work is killing me.

Krythor Jan 30th, 2010 06:25 PM

Out of boredom I did a kind of noisy cover of the elvis song "burning love." It's on http://www.myspace.com/perroscantantes and it's at the bottom of the track list.

Krythor Feb 6th, 2010 02:30 PM

I've written a song about Conan O'Brien but not had a chance to record it yet. I will record and upload it by wednesday though. STAY TUNED.

Fathom Zero Feb 6th, 2010 09:38 PM

Krythor, you made me laugh with your Elvis.
