So two of these are eventually going to happen within a year and a half's time.

Now, I've grown rather attached to my roommate, yet stupid me, I'm never around much (too much partying, enjoying time off, getting sick and not wanting to get her sick as well, etc.). Well, she's brought it up many times where she wishes that I'd spend time around the apartment more, which I plan on doing. We'll go different places together (went to the Texas Renaissance Festival not too long ago) and we both have great times. Here recently I noticed her status on Yahoo! that simply said "Why am I thinking about him?" and out of curiosity, I asked her what it meant. The reply was simply "I can't say lol"

Now, I'm not a complete idiot here, but really afraid of putting my foot in my mouth here in this one, and this almost really sounds like it was geared towards me. Now I haven't caught too many forward signs here, but I just can't help but sit and ponder this. So why is this such a big deal? Why don't I just ask her out and see where it goes?

Because she's got a year and a half to have a kid before she has to have surgery to remove her ovaries due to endometriosis.

So this means if I even want to consider anything with her, I gotta walk into this knowing that I'm gonna have to produce a kid here. I make pretty decent money, I know I'd be a great father, and honestly I wouldn't mind settling down, but this is still kind of a tricky situation. I'm not even sure where to begin on this one.

If I sit back and do nothing about it, then I'm going to have some jackass in my apartment (hardly any of her friends I've met I like, but that's probably due to jealousy) and eventually a bitchy roommate.

So yeah. Any ideas are welcome on what to do, but if anything else I figure I'd just share with you guys my situation.

Anyway, I think it's just fantastic that you're ready to commit yourself to helping take care of the kid and eventually paying most (if not all) of the rent and bills (yes, you haven't mentioned that, but you'll fall for it gradually). You'll be hitting the jackpot in the half-hug department, brother. Heck, you're such a nice guy, I bet she'll let you kiss her at some point

I think anyone who earns a decent amount of money shouldn't have to put up with such an awkward position. Just get your own place, really
