The Black Dahlia Murder

I just got Unhallowed. It fucking rules. Think Darkest Hour with some deep death vocals and much cooler lyrics.

kahljorn Sep 12th, 2003 03:54 PM

Aieeeeeeeeeeee. Never heeard of themmmm.

Helm Sep 12th, 2003 06:00 PM

Nice name, nice logo. We've heard the music before. Get some form The Red Chord instead.

whoreable Sep 12th, 2003 07:47 PM

Yea the red chord album is pretty great but i would not quite call them similar enough to replace each other :/

Besides I think I enjoy unhallowed more than fused together in revolving doors, but then again thats just a personal preference.

Helm Sep 12th, 2003 08:10 PM

I'm not suggesting chord because they're alike, but because a we've have enough deathcore to last a lifetime and be because as already established red chord are kickass

whoreable Sep 12th, 2003 08:17 PM

I see. Yea I saw the red chord a few months back, a most excellent show indeed.

This band sounds nothing like Darkest Hour. I'm getting sick of hearing, "They sound like Darkest Hour!" They don't. The only (vague) resemblance is the fact that they are both bands playing swedish metal.

I've been talking about this band for 2 years now...why all the hype all of a sudden?

RedChord is great, also. Have you heard their side band, Helm? Premonitions of War. If you haven't already you need to check it out.

whoreable Sep 23rd, 2003 02:27 PM

gee wiz! sorry i offended you :rolleyes

Perhaps darkest hour is probaly not the best comparision, but they still play the same style americanized swedish death. I still maintain the idea they sound similar.

I dont know about all the hype, perhpas it is cause their new album came out not too long ago?

I have not been impressed with the newest premonitions of war, compared to the red chord at least.

Helm Sep 23rd, 2003 04:51 PM

Neither was I.

Darko Sep 24th, 2003 02:05 AM

Sorry, I just got sick of the comparison after reading numerous reviews and numerous trend jumpers jumping on the dillznick of hype on Black Dahlia that lambgoat seemed to create.

But why should I be worried about comparisons that lambgoat makes? I just read a review there stating that As I Lay Dying sounds like Killswitch.

I like Premonitions a bit more because it's more listenable than Red Chord. I kinda got worn out on tech stuff. Then again, you guys probably don't pay alot of attention to the hardcore scene and hear hundreds of bands trying to outdo each other in fashion and technicality, totally unlistenable half the time, just there to look good and brag.

Helm Sep 25th, 2003 08:21 PM

Technicality is reason for being, bullet. Unlistenable? bah!

Darko Sep 26th, 2003 03:43 PM

Thing is, alot of these bands aren't nearly as good as their well-known counter-parts, are usually incredibly sloppy live, and look like women from a distance. It just makes you lose faith in the future of technical hardcore and metal.

Don't worry, though, I haven't totally lost my taste for tech metal, as Calculating Infinity has been the only cd in my booklet to not be replaced in over a year.

While we're on the subject of techy metalcore I highly recommend Into the Moat. Dillinger-esque w/ a good singer and tons of mosh.

whoreable Sep 26th, 2003 04:39 PM

YEa i totally dig into the moat. but the only release i have been able to hear is means by which the end is just

do they have anything else out?

Darko Sep 26th, 2003 05:11 PM

No clue, just have mp3s that a friend ripped from something they released.

Helm Sep 26th, 2003 06:12 PM

I'll check out into the moat. Keehaul is a good example of a nice math band. If you want tech metal that's actually impressively structured besides difficult then I suggest the great Watchtower but watch out for the power metal vocals! Also, Coroner! But they have nothing 'core' about them so be warned tech metal is nothing like mathcore.
