My job rocks ass

(FYI, I work the drive through at Value Village. Which means I sit on my ass for the better part of the day)

OK, so last night a HUGE desk got donated, but it was a rickety piece of shit. So we decide to throw it out. We bring it inside, to try to get to the scaffold where the dumpsters are out back. It won't fit through the door, but my coworker tells me "Not a problem". He hands me a sledgehammer, and tells me to go for it.

I look at my supervisor, and he says "Beat the hell out of it". I DESTROY that desk into like, 30 pieces, then carry them all out through the door. Apparently, if the pricers deem this MASSIVE tv we got isn't fit to go on the floor (No remote, cords, manual and such), I get to decimate that as well. That shall be fun.-__-

Last time I took pictures with my phone, they tried to take it away from me. Apparently, they're REALLY worried about confidentiality in the loading dock >.>

Breaking shit is fun, but I like my job better.
I direct an art gallery, all day long all I do is make fun of peoples hard work and telling them they can't draw for shit and their passon is a wasted effort. It's fun to crush emotions.

I was part of a demolition company for a while, and demolition becomes a lot less fun when you do it every day ;<

Honestly, I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing fragmented pieces of wood hurtling through the air

I work at Goodwill. Today I sat down during my break and noticed a battered ninja sword (I forget the word that ISN'T "katana", so fuck off) on the break table. The mental image of someone putting the donation of a sword to a charitable organization on their tax refund has had me laughing all the live-long day. I would have quoted Cautionary Tales of Swords non-stop, but I don't think the managers would like me saying "fuck" and all its variants in front of costumers all that often.

I don't work until Tuesday, but I missed out on insisting to everyone that they wear gloves and goggles while handling the sword.

I hope you have already warned all the asians nearby.

Sethomas Nov 4th, 2007 02:03 PM

I do work with a hot Japanese chick, and while she's really nice her sense of humor is deficient to the point where I had to keep my desire in check to tell her, "you're a racist if you think that swords don't kill Asians, too" or "Over 7,000 Asians die each year in sword-related accidents".

Her wages must come from sword money...

Dr. V Nov 5th, 2007 01:05 AM

Maybe they pay her in swords.

bigtimecow Nov 5th, 2007 02:11 AM

Cfr5 Nov 5th, 2007 11:12 AM

Heh, you're making my imagination run wild, so would you please describe that with a bit more detail, bigtimecow?
