Good stuff. You gotta keep these going. Suggestions:

Hedley Lamarr - Blazing Saddles
Orin Scrivello D.D.S. - Little Shop of Horrors
Judge Smails - Caddyshack
Chet Donnelly - Weird Science
Holly Thompson - They Live
Staff Sergeant Barnes - Platoon

Glad to see Big Ern finally get his due. Murray is just brilliant and has countless hilarious lines in that role. I loved the ending when he's shouting with glee that he's now a millionaire and above the law. Just comedic genius.

Following Pac-Man's lead, here's my own suggestions for future inductees into the Movie Asshole Hall of Fame:

Gny. Sgt. Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) Full Metal Jacket
Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) Gladiator
Carter Burke (Paul Riser) Aliens
Daryl Jenks (Eriq La Salle) Coming to America

First, a link I think anyone interested in the Breakfast Club will appreciate. Congraturation, Bender! You are the Breakfast Club.

And now, some of my own suggestions.
Sho-nuff, the Shogun of Harlem The Last Dragon
Nurse Ratched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Wicked Stepmother Cinderella (Ok she's a cartoon but she's an absurd asshole)
Rene Belloq Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Mrbigstick Mar 9th, 2009 02:00 PM

Tatsu was my favorite movie asshole as well, and he was in all three Ninja Turtle movies, in the third one it's his ancestor, showing that he has the Biff tendency for stubborn bloodline assholishness.

bountyhunterseven Mar 9th, 2009 04:31 PM

every incarnation of"BIFF" should be included, altho the BtF II Biff was just wired wrong, the Old West Mad Dog Tanner was a total Ass!!

bountyhunterseven Mar 9th, 2009 04:39 PM

Tannen,i ment.

Doctor_Who Mar 9th, 2009 06:05 PM

Not only were all the Biffs in the movies huge assholes, but so was every Biff in the cartoon!

No matter where or when the characters went in the Back to the Future animated series, there was always a biff. He always looked sounded and acted exactly the same. Talk about strong genes!

Ferrit Mar 9th, 2009 08:29 PM

Creepiest thing about Ed Rooney was that, in the real world he went on to become a pedophile.

Les jeux sont faits indeed...

HeroliciousDeBlanc Mar 9th, 2009 09:26 PM

I'm pretty sure Aguilla Beckersted is Nedermeier from animal ouse, another classic asshole role.

kidneyboy Mar 9th, 2009 11:53 PM

Great article! I enjoyed the first one too. I've also got some suggestions:

Kent from Real Genius
Stan Gable from Revenge of the Nerds
Roman Craig from The Great Outdoors
The Truck Driver from Duel
Salem Jones from North and South haha!!
Al Pellet from Summer Rental

thats all I've got. Good job again!

This was a great list of movie assholes, Rog.

You writin' these down, Rog? ;)

greenimp Mar 10th, 2009 02:14 AM

much assholishness was had by all

Copper Mar 10th, 2009 03:18 AM

I can agree with many that have been said already. Some, I'm not familiar with, but I trust my fellow posters in this regard.

Yet again, though, I have to nominate Johner (Ron Perlman) from "Alien Resurrection" and I thought of a new one. Hanover (Wes Studi) from "Deep Rising." He makes no bones about being a bad guy, but it's that little bit at the end, the "What'd I ever do to you?" that does it for me.

electric ninja Mar 10th, 2009 06:30 AM

That was great.What assholes
Suggestions:

Mr.Blond-Reservoir Dogs
Eric Gordon-Billy Madison
Tatoya-Man with the screaming brain
Pete-Shaun of the Dead

I was waiting for Lumberg this time but I thought for sure this time Jabba the Hutt would be on there.

Julio Mar 10th, 2009 09:09 AM

I'm thinking about James "Clubber" Lang. He is, without question, a prime example of pure assholishness.

Commanderraf Mar 10th, 2009 11:35 AM

Only Jimmy from "Road House"?!? But Wesley is the one that does the asshole stuff in that movie (and just for fun!). Besides, he has the best line in the whole film. When he's fighting with Swayze on his trophy room (filled with dangerous highly-sought game as a giraffe and a polar bear) he says

"I see you found my trophy room, Dalton. The only thing missing... is your ass."

Which, the first time I saw the movie made me wonder how would Wesley would display Dalton's Ass to his visitors, hanging on a wooden shield-formed wooden plaque on a wall.

"Oh yes, I didn't had complete satisfaction while killing walruses, buffaloes and giraffes, but I found it when I HUNTED FOR ASS!"

Everytime I see that film, or someone mentiones this scene, a denim wearing butt on a wooden plaque comes to my mind.

Pee Wee calls Francis Buxton...FransASS BuxTON, cause his ASS weighs a TON!!!!

Mockery Mar 10th, 2009 07:36 PM

Thanks for the continued suggestions guys... definitely keep 'em coming because I'll still be doing more installments of this series. And don't worry, if I haven't gotten to some of your favorite assholes yet, I probably will at some point.

Mrbigstick, I never saw the third TMNT movie because I heard it was really bad, but now that I know Tatsu (well, his ancestor) is in it, I'll have to check it out. Still, it's hard to go anywhere but down when the previous movie reached a new cinematic apex by having Vanilla Ice and ceremonial donuts being fed to mutants in it. You just can't top that.

HeroliciousDeBlanc, yep, same guy! He really was good at playing assholes on the silver screen, eh?

Silver, Clubber Lang was just extremely angry... but I think Ivan Drago was way more of an assholes. He kills Apollo Creed, looks down at his lifeless body and without any emotion whatsoever, he says, "If he dies, he dies." Now THAT is an asshole.

Commanderraf, I already explained in the article that Wesley is a huge asshole, but Jimmy is my favorite one in that movie. And the title of this article is "My Favorite Movie Assholes", so I'm definitely gonna stay true to that when deciding who to write about. Ask 90% of people who've seen Road House what their favorite line in the movie is, and I guarantee you, they'll quote Jimmy's prison line. It's just too damned funny.

MeowMixMaster Mar 10th, 2009 08:55 PM

Sac from wedding crashers, love the comparison owen wilson makes between him and ike turner. lol

Doyle Hagraves from sling blade, this dude pulls no punches in the asshole department, he calls carl a retard, calls frank a sissy, calls frank's dead dad a sissy, beats on franks mom, kicks the shit out of his own band mates, and one of them is handicapped, how's that for assholenish.

Percy from the green mile, one sadistic prison guard who gets himself off on the tourture of the pisoners, as Tom Hanks said, its not enough for you to watch them die you gotta be close enough to smell their nuts cook.

Deebo from friday, memorable moment was him nailing red and stealing his bike, That's my bike punk!!!

Shooter Mcgavin from happy gilmore, talk about asshole, he plots to humilate happy gilmore, take his woman, make happy's mom's room into a trophy room and win that golden jacket.

ZeldaQueen Mar 10th, 2009 09:42 PM

One jerk that I'm pulling from the back of my memory is Senator Billboard Rawkins, from the film (and musical) Finian's Rainbow. The dude is openly and unapolegetically a complete racist and bigot. When he thinks that Rainbow Valley (the setting of the movie) has gold hidden in it, he writes a new law specifically forbiding blacks and whites to live in the same places (the Valley is integrated). When an Irish immigrant points out that such a law is...well unlawful he says "I don't know where you immigrants get these radical, foreign ideas". When he's told that these "radical ideas" come from the United States Constitution, he states "I don't have time to read it, I'm too busy defending it!" He also said "My family's been having nothing but trouble with immigrants ever since they come to this country!"

Admittedly he does lose his assholish ways by the end of the movie, but that's only after magical gold turns him black and a leprachaun puts a spell on him to make him more open-minded.

DarkfireTaimatsu Mar 11th, 2009 06:10 PM

Totally agree with Dr. Seaton. I remember slinging him much rage while watching the movie, usually punctuated with "idiot".

Marthaeus Autolykos Mar 11th, 2009 07:52 PM

"YOU'LL BE SORRY, PEE-WEE HERMAN!" One of my favorite movies of all time.

Glad you've shown Tetsu some love...I've used, "Ninja, vanish!" as an outro for many, many years.
