Woo hoo.

Tadao Mar 7th, 2011 04:13 PM

Herro

Esuohlim Mar 8th, 2011 01:27 AM

It just wouldn't be March without WhiteRat's catastrophic braket and Pub accidentally choosing all the 16 seeds :eek

Colonel Flagg Mar 8th, 2011 08:03 PM

I'll be in, if I can remember what this is all about. :confused

Pentegarn Mar 13th, 2011 06:12 PM

Selection Sunday is underway

Pentegarn Mar 13th, 2011 06:26 PM

Michigan gets an 8 seed. Way to be, MU!

I mean you're gonna get killed by Tennessee but still, good on ya!

Pentegarn Mar 13th, 2011 07:01 PM

MSU made it in Milpool

They will even probably make it to round 2

Pentegarn Mar 13th, 2011 07:09 PM

So Bama and Colorado got screwed and the talking heads are pissed about it.

And they are right to be

I hit that link and it told me I was no longer a member and to f*ck off. Does this mean something? I've been away a while healing lepers in Palestine, but now I am back. Look out, Satan!!

Colonel Flagg Mar 13th, 2011 09:15 PM

I'm already regretting this. :(

Babs Mar 14th, 2011 03:31 PM

Notre Dame anybody?

Tadao Mar 14th, 2011 03:36 PM

I got mine done last night. I HAVE A GREAT FEELING ABOUT THIS!

Pentegarn Mar 14th, 2011 09:22 PM

But where is Willie?

MailCall Mar 15th, 2011 07:08 AM

Okay. 'Bro fixed me up and I'm in. Then he made fun of my Duke prediction.

Colonel Flagg Mar 15th, 2011 01:22 PM

I picked Duke to go the distance last year figuring that it would be a slam dunk they would get knocked out in the first round.

Didn't happen. :(

Babs Mar 15th, 2011 01:42 PM

I think Kansas could make it this year along with the Buckeyes maybe?

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 15th, 2011 02:46 PM

Is this the same thing as March Madness, I have to do one of the for work now.

Babs Mar 15th, 2011 03:03 PM

What do you think it's for Bill? Brackets, March, WhiteRat. See the pattern?

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 15th, 2011 03:06 PM

That just makes me think of Tic tac toe, St Patricks day and The GZA so that doesn't help Chad.

Babs Mar 15th, 2011 03:16 PM

Your wasting precious time you can be spending on your bracket.

WhiteRat Mar 15th, 2011 03:25 PM

I haphazardly threw my bracket together. I can already see some sparks developing.

Babs Mar 15th, 2011 03:37 PM

I got a little run by Gonzaga in mine. It could happen.

You can already see sparks on yours? I have BYU in the finals despite the fact that they are one man down:lol

Final Four or bust for K-State over here.

Pentegarn Mar 15th, 2011 04:37 PM

Not the worst pick ever

Colonel Flagg Mar 16th, 2011 11:28 AM

No, that would be mine. :tear

executioneer Mar 17th, 2011 02:15 AM

i used a random number generator, i am sure to win best prize

Pentegarn Mar 17th, 2011 07:45 AM

If you used a RNG you might lose to Pub this year :lol

Esuohlim Mar 17th, 2011 10:37 AM

CINCINATTI IN THE SWEET 16, PURDUE IN THE FINAL 4, LET'S DO THIS

Colonel Flagg Mar 17th, 2011 10:55 AM

One hour 6 minutes and counting.

Babs Mar 17th, 2011 02:17 PM

Purdue... final four :lol

it was weighted, each team got a number from 0 to (17-rank) so it's not TOTAL randomness since the better teams tend to get better scores

executioneer Mar 17th, 2011 02:25 PM

not saying i won't lose to pub though, but that's got good odds of happening anyways since i know/care fuck all about college basketball

executioneer Mar 17th, 2011 02:29 PM

the weirdest one i got was st. peters making it to sweet 16 and arizona making it to the semis

Babs Mar 17th, 2011 03:42 PM

I think MSU can beat UCLA. Izzo has March Magic.

I'm starting to regret having Pitt make such a deep run.

WhiteRat Mar 17th, 2011 04:53 PM

To hell with this, i'm not doing a bracket ever again, this time it's for real.

Why must you turn this thread into a house of lies?

Pentegarn Mar 17th, 2011 05:07 PM

I knew knew knew Pub would be the one person to call Morehead St. over Louisville right

Pub Lover Mar 17th, 2011 09:57 PM

I had Vanderbilt going rather far in my bracket. Dammit. :lol

Tadao Mar 17th, 2011 10:29 PM

I can't believe my random picks are doing so well. I don't even watch basket ball. :(

Tadao Mar 18th, 2011 12:57 AM

That was me last year IIRC, they failed me for the last time though and I eliminated them in round one this year.

I see Gonzaga is fucking me once again, it doesn't matter what I do. I pick them to lose, they win, I pick them to win, they lose. Who would have thought a school that sounds like an Italian ingredient would be so goddamn much trouble for me?

That's how it goes for me whenever I pick Syracuse to go far. They always lose in the first or second round.

I'd be in really good shape but St. John's losing is the first sign of smoke coming from my bracket.

Babs Mar 18th, 2011 02:41 AM

Now it's time for Gonzaga to beat a crippled BYU.

Pentegarn Mar 18th, 2011 08:19 AM

Too right :(

MailCall Mar 18th, 2011 12:01 PM

Morehead State

Oh, yeah!! Go Eagles, all the way!! After all, how can you argue with a school by the name of "Morehead?"

Pentegarn Mar 18th, 2011 12:23 PM

Morehead sounds like the name of a Bond Girl from the Roger Moore era

WhiteRat Mar 18th, 2011 02:38 PM

Oh Tennessee, you were only down by 4 at the half, but somehow you've managed to be down by 30 points to Michigan. Thanks!

With all that's going on within their program I don't know why anyone would pick Tennessee, but lo and behold yours truly picks them anyway.

WhiteRat Mar 18th, 2011 05:05 PM

C'mon Memphis, make me look smart.

Colonel Flagg Mar 18th, 2011 05:09 PM

Way to go 'Cats. Forget how to score much? >:

Babs Mar 18th, 2011 09:13 PM

Only lucky because Villanove blew it as well as Memphis. It's alright though, GURANTEE that Gonzaga pulls me through over BYU and Florida. OSU will make it wall the way along with Duke falling to Texas in the elite 8? My final four will be in so that's all that matters. Milhouse looking lucky right now but we'll see far that goes.

WhiteRat Mar 18th, 2011 11:42 PM

If Syracuse and Washington win (both leading as of now) my East bracket will be perfect. I don't think i've ever had that before.

I have BYU in the finals, Gonzaga makes it their business to fuck my brackets in the ass with a barbed flaming phallus, so yes, Gonzaga by 7 over BYU

Babs Mar 19th, 2011 02:14 PM

I think I can still win if Richmond tops Morehead State and Gonzaga makes it all the way to the elite eight before faltering to Pitt. I had no idea about VCU until they destroyed Georgetown so I guess this new 68 team thing is something I underestimated. I just hope my sweet 16 will be all intact (minus Georgetown of course).

The 68 team field is irrelevant. VCU usually makes a nice little run every few years, although this year's team barely got it in so maybe that explains why not many people picked them to do anything really, myself included.

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 08:46 PM

Jimmer Ferdette may be the best player in college basketball right now. That three followed by the charge draw was just flawless

Colonel Flagg Mar 19th, 2011 09:26 PM

BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

WhiteRat Mar 19th, 2011 09:32 PM

:lol Milhouse just took a huge hit with the Pitt loss. K-State is going to have to beat Butler and Florida or my bracket will be in serious trouble.

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 09:48 PM

K State still has Wisky to deal with, and that is not going to be an easy fight for them at all. Moreover if BYU keeps playing like this and Florida won't make it out of their match

Also too right about Thrillho's bracket. Poor Milpool, 122 max score puts his bracket's weight at the bottom

WhiteRat Mar 19th, 2011 09:50 PM

Forgot about that important part.

Deep down though I really want Butler to make another deep run. I don't think I've ever rooted harder for a non-Minnesota team than I did last year when they nearly beat Duke.

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 10:09 PM

I am certainly not too shocked that Pitt was the first #1 out. I had them out first, only I had it a round later :lol

Esuohlim Mar 19th, 2011 10:37 PM

Well it's been real, folks!

Butler is on my shit list two years in a row. Also, a lot of my friends were giving me shit about my BYU decision, but they're playing great despite dealing with the whole EARTH-SHATTERING SEX-WITH-GIRLFRIEND FIASCO.

But yeah, fuck it all regardless

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 11:04 PM

You aren't technically out yet, I think last year's top score overall was in the high 80s, and you still have 122 on the table

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 11:06 PM

Also Wisky and K State are leaving it all on the court in this game

Colonel Flagg Mar 19th, 2011 11:10 PM

^^^ Good game that.

I don't know what I was thinking, putting Pitt in the Final 4. :(

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 11:14 PM

I thought that was a no call on that trip/fall till I saw the replay. But it was just good d from Wisky

Colonel Flagg Mar 19th, 2011 11:23 PM

My SE Region is now completed. With 'sconnie's win, I now have no possibility of any more points in that bracket. :(

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 11:28 PM

Wisky's win was key to me getting a foothold in the endgame against you peeps :P

Esuohlim Mar 19th, 2011 11:29 PM

The Pitt loss ruined me, but other than the completely inconsequential Richmond-Morehead game it was a solid day. If Cincy can pull it off over UConn they'll probably have a good chance against San Diego St., hopefully.

WhiteRat Mar 19th, 2011 11:30 PM

Well fuck me, K-State just pooped their pants. Is it getting really hot here or is it just me?

Pentegarn Mar 19th, 2011 11:49 PM

I think this has to be some of the hardest playing in a tourney I have ever seen. Cincy-UConn is almost as intense as Wisky-K State was

Babs Mar 20th, 2011 12:39 AM

I'm an idiot.

WhiteRat Mar 20th, 2011 01:33 AM

I think i've posted this here before a long time ago but in the spirit of brackets crashing, I give you a typical Duke fan during the 2004 ACC Tourny:

Esuohlim Mar 20th, 2011 04:34 PM

For the Duke-Michigan game I think the best possible outcome is that the roof caves in

Babs Mar 20th, 2011 04:58 PM

How over rated can Duke possibly be?

Pentegarn Mar 20th, 2011 06:26 PM

If OSU shows up at all their games like they have so far in this one it will be all OSU without much of a fight.

Esuohlim Mar 20th, 2011 07:02 PM

Just once I'd like to experience a stellar football/basketball season combination. In the two previous years our football seasons were mediocre and our basketball seasons were amazing. Now, this year, our football season was amazing and, of course, basketball was mediocre. You Buckeye fans are spoiled bitches

Pentegarn Mar 20th, 2011 07:03 PM

Usually our basketball program has been less than great though. This has been a recent development.

And OSU looks like they will be dropping a c-note on George Mason

Esuohlim Mar 20th, 2011 07:11 PM

I seem to recall March Madness 2007 being a veritable cornucopia of Greg Oden dick-sucking :x

Pentegarn Mar 20th, 2011 07:15 PM

Then you forgot all the, "Look at the 40 year old freshman" jokes :lol

WhiteRat Mar 20th, 2011 08:14 PM

At least you have football. How many Big 10 football programs can say they've lost two games against 1AA schools from the Dakotas in the last 3 years? Basketball at one point this year beat North Carolina, WVU, and Purdue, was ranked 13th in the country, then lost their most dynamic scorer and only competent point guard (transfer and foot injury) and promptly lost 10 out of 11 and no post season play. Hockey? 8 years removed from back to back National Championships and now the Gophers are getting swept at home by Alaska-Anchorage and missing the playoffs for the 3rd straight year (first time ever that's happened). Not to mention losing recruiting battles to other in-state schools.

Just remember that no matter how bad your athletic department is doing, it could always be worse like Minnesota. :(

WhiteRat Mar 20th, 2011 08:16 PM

Damn. Texas and Az are battling it out now. Let's all collectively root for Texas so my bracket doesn't spontaneously burst into flames like a Libyan AAA emplacement.

Esuohlim Mar 20th, 2011 08:24 PM

It looks like both you and I are on the path to perfect East region picks :eek

That's my new goal now anyway :(

WhiteRat Mar 20th, 2011 08:26 PM

AZ just messed the hell out of Texas and my bracket. There's always next year I guess.

ps someone call 911 i'm completely engulfed in flames

Colonel Flagg Mar 20th, 2011 08:35 PM

texas goes down, and I'm down to 2 final 4 picks. :tear

Colonel Flagg Mar 20th, 2011 08:36 PM
