Soem of the environments are too bright and blandly textured

BlueOatmeal Oct 31st, 2004 05:42 PM

Thats the power of the ps2.

its fun if you try and explore sections of the game which your not allowed to go to yet, i found a plane at the airport and tried to see some of the rest of the game, only to be shot down by rockets once i crossed 'the border' :lol

GADZOOKS Oct 31st, 2004 09:17 PM

Barney millers! I have just beaten the catalina robberies now I have to do another ceaser race, any suggestions on what wheels in should use.

Sidenote: I wonder if you can rob the Tanner Household in San Fierro.

racialslur Oct 31st, 2004 09:30 PM

I have yet to rob, im doin that now, but I suggest a voodoo.

Mr. Vagiclean Oct 31st, 2004 09:31 PM

no ragdoll physics :(

jumping over stuff with the bikes is just blowing my eyes

GADZOOKS Oct 31st, 2004 11:21 PM

Man, Supply Lines makes Vice City's The Driver look so fucking easy. >:

racialslur Nov 1st, 2004 01:28 AM

:lol I tried the Wu Zi Mu mission with a Trashmaster.

timrpgland Nov 1st, 2004 12:44 PM

up to 38% now. Las Venturas is open but can't gamble yet. This game is consuming me.

Is that the one with that fucking little RC Baron? If so, I HATE that mission and refuse to play it again unless I need to.

GADZOOKS Nov 1st, 2004 10:17 PM

You dont have to beat any of the zero missions l learned, you can still continue without doing them.

eggyolk Nov 1st, 2004 10:44 PM

God damn that mission. I finally got them all killed but ran out of fuel on the way back. Rather then park the plane and drive over to get it, I get a Mission Failed and Zero starts bitchin and moaning.

Schimid Nov 1st, 2004 10:45 PM

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I just said fuck that mission :/

I can't play anymore, my disk got scratched and I have no clue why. :/

Ninjavenom Nov 1st, 2004 11:18 PM

The discs have multiple layers, so they'll freeze due to the smallest scratch. It happened to my Vice City disc too. I'm not buying this game until they release a new shipment of them, i don't want to buy a game that will freeze the second day i play it.

the_dudefather Nov 2nd, 2004 07:21 AM

that happened to me with san andreas :( have to get a new one this afternoon

timrpgland Nov 2nd, 2004 10:31 AM

Take care of your stuff ::)

Haven't had any problems with this, GTA3 or VC, bought VC on release too. You must be unlucky.

the_dudefather Nov 2nd, 2004 11:17 AM

i never took it out of the ps2 since i got it so it must be a dodgy copy

Schimid Nov 2nd, 2004 11:48 AM

dudefather, same damn thing happened to me. It's been in my PS2 since the day I got it.

Ninjavenom Nov 2nd, 2004 12:02 PM

clean your lasers, too.

BlueOatmeal Nov 2nd, 2004 01:11 PM

Or give me you PS2!

Ninjavenom Nov 2nd, 2004 07:42 PM

I totally lied when i said i wasn't getting this. I didn't plan on having enough dough, but this turned up in my favor, ya'll.

If anyone else asks you to validate why you bought this game, just tell them that i FOUND A PARACHUTE AND WENT FUCKING BASE JUMPING.

Tonberry Nov 4th, 2004 06:41 AM

I love flying around in the Spitfire over the freeway, then diving the cars and opening fire. blows them all away.

Mr. Vagiclean Nov 4th, 2004 10:29 AM

stick to your FUCKING character CRUNCHBERRY

GADZOOKS Nov 4th, 2004 12:56 PM

I really wonder what you get when you hit 100%, you alreadyt can recruit gang members, what can they really give us?

the_dudefather Nov 4th, 2004 01:01 PM

a flying delorian that goes though time.

a REAL flying delorian, not one of them fake ones like in universal studios (i was so disipointed that day)

HickMan Nov 4th, 2004 01:54 PM

;_;

Tonberry Nov 4th, 2004 08:39 PM

this game just got 1000000 times cooler. I got the hitman skill on the 9mm and now he carries one in each hand Max Payne style.

racialslur Nov 4th, 2004 09:06 PM

double sawed offs are better.

the_dudefather Nov 5th, 2004 04:40 PM

i gos double micro uzis and hitman level ak47 :)

eggyolk Nov 5th, 2004 11:23 PM

Hitman Pistols, Micro SMGs, SMGs, AK47, Shotgun, Combat Shotgun. ;)

Ninjavenom Nov 5th, 2004 11:32 PM

mother fuckers, i still have to find my ammo for these because the lowrider race sucks. >:

racialslur Nov 6th, 2004 05:31 PM

Hitman Pistol, Silenced Pistol, Desert Eagle, Tec9, Machine Pistol, Shotgun, Sawed Off, Combat Shotgun, SMG, AK47, & M4. :beateggyolk

the_dudefather Nov 6th, 2004 09:38 PM

just opened up the next part of the game, ive taken my time tho (23 hours).

diving off the top of the mountain in a sanchez is the coolest thing ever

racialslur Nov 7th, 2004 02:59 PM

I cant beat NOE (nap of the earth)

timrpgland Nov 9th, 2004 11:16 AM

Finished the game last night. Now to get 100%. I finished the game at 67%. Good stuff, now I miss those missions :(

Gonna go jump out of a jet liner to end my misery.

eggyolk Nov 9th, 2004 07:10 PM

so did i. :/ it kinda ended all of a sudden though... >:

timrpgland Nov 11th, 2004 11:02 AM

took about six trys but 23red got me the jackpot. $36 million prize. Now to waste it on my arsenal.

Ninjavenom Nov 11th, 2004 02:45 PM

only six? excellent. I plan on doing this as soon as i find another banshee running around town for transport. :O

timrpgland Nov 11th, 2004 02:53 PM

yeah I was suprised, Luck is 60

Anonymous Nov 11th, 2004 05:26 PM

I beat Supply Lines on the 5th try, after I figured out that you can steer the plane around on the ground by using the L2 and R2 buttons (just using the stick just makes it tip but the shoulders control the rudder and wheels, though it really should be the other way around).

Supply lines is still hard, though, cause you need to bring the baron BACK after killing all those people, and I whooped each one's ass in under 4 seconds and I still barely made it back.

The mission after supply lines is pretty fun, and then you get Zero's garage as a property that makes money, up to $5k, which is pretty much worthless. Hooray! Valet missions are gay, too, but easy, and give you the hotel as property that makes money, up to $2k.

Okay I don't know how to do the following things so if someone could tell me it'd help ;<

- Is there any form of mass transport aside from the train?

- And also, is there any way to ride the train without jacking it?

- Where do i find parachutes and how do i do these skydiving things ;<

- Is there a pilot school in San Fierro?

timrpgland Nov 11th, 2004 05:37 PM

1. Yes the airports will take you to whichever city you want. U can jump out of the plane and parachute where you want or skip the flight and be taken to the other city's airport

2. Not that I know of except getting on top of it. Haven't messed much with the train though

3. Parachutes are on high places. Mountain in San Fierro I think is the earliest place you can get one. You also automatically get a parachute when you jump out of a plane. You just freefall and hit O to open the parachute then land. Holding back decreases your fall and moves you forward at a slightly faster speed.

4. The pilot school is in Venturas.

the_dudefather Nov 11th, 2004 07:32 PM

has anyone else did the jump off the mountian via the plaque ramp?

with some difficulty i managed to land the jet on the mountain top, so i could parachute wherever i wanted :)

Bass Nov 11th, 2004 07:58 PM

Oh man, a fucking JETPACK.... fuck cars, I'm traveling around in style

eggyolk Nov 11th, 2004 08:19 PM

jetpack...

what were they thinking???

the_dudefather Nov 11th, 2004 08:33 PM

aww man i cant wait to get that

Tonberry Nov 11th, 2004 09:09 PM

the Harrier pisses me off. I always wind up flying into a wall when im shooting at cars.

I also stole the huge Commercial plane in Venturas and tried to lane it at my airport by area 69. It was too big and i over shot the strip.

and has anyone found any of the oysters other than the one in Madd Doggs pool?

Ninjavenom Nov 11th, 2004 10:18 PM

Yeah, i have found five or six of them. Where do you get the harrier at? I want it so bad :(

Anonymous Nov 11th, 2004 10:24 PM

SA's fake review of the game kinda sucks. I couldn't tell if it was real or not because it's mostly truths combined with some excuseable errors and circumstantial lies, but nothing that would make someone gullible if they 'fell for it.'

Then again, all of truthmedia really sucks, this is just worse than normal; The flames for this are going to be like 'His name is Johnson, not Jordan! The loading times are great what are you talking about you fag!'. ISN'T THAT HILARIOUS. The DDAAF reviews own truthmedia so badly :<

Anonymous Nov 11th, 2004 10:25 PM

And yes, I do understand now that it's supposed to be a joke, but it just isn't funny. They could have complained about missions where you have you dress like a clown and entertain the neighborhood children while keeping their 'fun meter' above a certain point, or something.

BlueOatmeal Nov 11th, 2004 10:31 PM

I'm always gettinf fucking lost in this damn game :( I'm glad I haven't had to deal with an assload of timed missions.

Yeah, aren't rockstar big fans of the site, in vice, one of the criminal ratings were SA Goon.

Schimid Nov 11th, 2004 11:04 PM

I got this game again tonight--put it back on the warranty and picking up where I left off, right before finishing Wu Zi Mu's missions.

Fuck "Supply Lines" by the way, I'll never get that. :/

There seems to be one under every bridge, i know theres one in a small pool by the country club in san fierro.

Tonberry Nov 12th, 2004 08:02 AM

has anyone noticed that the soda machines, snack machines and a few other things are reused from Manhunt?

my friend rented manhunt the other day and i was watching him play and i noticed that the soda machines scattered around looked really similar.

It caused me some trouble too but then one try it just went smoothly as hell. Just constantly hold down the gas and fire from far away as possible while still hitting the targets for the ones that shoot back. The ones up North suck but if you kill the 3 that are close quick enough, you can do it. The mission after is a walk in the park.

BlueOatmeal Nov 13th, 2004 12:09 AM

I fucking hate the flying school. I'm sucking huge amounts of unwashed ass at the target practice with the helicopter.

Ninjavenom Nov 13th, 2004 12:25 AM

seriously. Harrier jet. Me wanty. :(

Don't bother with the rockers, the regulars guns do the trick.

Anonymous Nov 13th, 2004 03:03 AM

Don't bother with that last post, it's all lies.

I got gold in all the flying school shit, but the helicopter shooting one is by far the hardest. Here's what I did:

- Go to 1st person mode. You have a target now, so it's way easier to shoot rockets after you get used to the screen weaving this way and that.

- Get somewhat near the ground and go very slow up to the trucks, blow them up ;<

- Use R2 to turn around, then head after the cars.

- Get really close and fire in front of them.

- Use R2 to turn around again, switch back to 3rd person mode, and line up on the runway way ahead of time, because if you do anything but a picture perfect landing, the game gets very homosexually upset with you.

Ninjavenom Nov 13th, 2004 12:15 PM

First Person Mode is generally best for Driving School as well, i've discovered. Keeps those fuckin' cones and bikes from popping up out of nowehere on ya.

Rongi Nov 13th, 2004 12:17 PM

f(ck all yall :( i'm still on that fucking caeser racing mission

but i got denise's car :x

the_dudefather Nov 13th, 2004 04:01 PM

im having trouble in the driving school. forget what the mission is but its the one were you have to use the police car and swoop around the other one

Ninjavenom Nov 13th, 2004 04:46 PM

They're all easy. The last one lets you hit anything, you just can't do a complete 180. Switch to first-person view.

Mr. Vagiclean Nov 13th, 2004 05:26 PM

the last car school mission doesn't let you stop your car for more than .5 second :/

BlueOatmeal Nov 13th, 2004 06:03 PM

The planes in this game are fucking weak. On the mission where I have to fly under the radar I nicked a tree and my plane turned into a godamn fireball. Skydiving is neat.

Schimid Nov 13th, 2004 06:40 PM

I fucking hate flying. I'm really REALLY bad at it, I can't even do the third driving school mission.

Schimid Nov 13th, 2004 06:41 PM

flying school, i mean. erps.

BlueOatmeal Nov 13th, 2004 07:21 PM

The fucking flying around the runway and landing pissed me off something fierce. I wanted to break the fucking game in half.

Schimid Nov 13th, 2004 07:27 PM

Alright, I've gotten considerately better at flying. I'm on the Wu Zi missions now, the ones in the casino.

This game is awesome :(

ArrowX Nov 13th, 2004 07:29 PM

I played Al queda with the passenger plane and the buildings :)

BlueOatmeal Nov 13th, 2004 07:40 PM

Why don't you use your typing hands for something constructive? Like giving me a handjob while fingering my ass.

ArrowX Nov 13th, 2004 07:44 PM

WHere do you live big sexy? ;)

BlueOatmeal Nov 13th, 2004 08:20 PM

Carrollton, Georgia

Anonymous Nov 13th, 2004 08:24 PM

Every school (haven't tried boating yet) has one test that's virtually impossible to get gold on. For driving, it's the 5-lap course, or bikes, it's the ramp and stoppie, and for planes it's the helicopter target practice. ;<

The bike one I have no idea how to do, the car one is basically just impossible.

Mr. Vagiclean Nov 13th, 2004 08:55 PM

for the 5 laps with the car keep in mind to spend least amount of time during turning and always stick very close to the inner part of the cone track, slightly bumping the cones doesn't tick the gods

Anonymous Nov 13th, 2004 09:29 PM

WOW DRIVE FAST GEE GOOD TIP THANKS YOU COLOSSAL FAGGOT

Mr. Vagiclean Nov 13th, 2004 09:32 PM

WELL it fucking looks like you don't deserve the gta gold medal fuck YOU you puny faggot

Mr. Vagiclean Nov 13th, 2004 09:52 PM

boohoohoo

GADZOOKS Nov 13th, 2004 10:16 PM

St. Mark's Bistro is the coolest mission evar.

Anonymous Nov 14th, 2004 12:22 AM

VAGICLEAN CAN YOU GIVE ME ANOTHER TIP SHOULD I DRIVE AROUND IN CIRCLES WOULD THAT HELP THX PLZ RESPOND

BlueOatmeal Nov 14th, 2004 01:54 AM

Godammit what a kickass game! Even though I don't have a PS2 and had to borrow one from a friend it was a good purchae!

Ninjavenom Nov 14th, 2004 11:40 AM

Supply Lines wasn't that agonizing. It sucked ass controlling the plane at first, but minimizing use of the joystick made it a helluva lot easier to steer around, and as long as you decelerate to gun down the couriers, you're fine. Too bad no one needs that news now >:

Schimid Nov 14th, 2004 12:02 PM

I still do. I never did it :(

I did the Helicopter target practice on my second try, though. I can't think of any tips, honestly...I didn't use any rockets or anything, either.

I'm talking about the one with the three trucks and then two moving cars, is there another one that's harder?

GADZOOKS Nov 14th, 2004 01:02 PM

As far as flight school I think theres just parachuting and then you get your liscense.

Then there are airfield missions, all of which are awesome.

Bass Nov 14th, 2004 02:10 PM

yeah, I finally beat the game. Just stick with the aircraft missions, after you pass flying school, the jetpack is delivered to your airstrip. It makes travelling around incredibly easy since there's none of the pesky landing, and you don't have to woryy about different terrains. I wouldn't recommend using it for fighting, but if you do use it while in gunfights it does allow for you to fly away to safety while you regain your bearings.

FreakinStrange Nov 14th, 2004 07:55 PM

i was an idiot and my save data got corrupted and i have to start at the beginning :(. I was at the flight school :( .

timrpgland Nov 22nd, 2004 10:21 AM

Tomorrow the soundtrack comes out along with a special 22 minute movie telling the events a few days before CJ's return.

Anonymous Jan 3rd, 2005 06:54 PM

So I'm finally playing this game. Is there any point to doing the boating school missions? There isn't a boating skill, and it doesn't appear anywhere in the stats.

Ninjavenom Jan 3rd, 2005 07:43 PM

You get a pretty dope hovercraft.

the_dudefather Jan 3rd, 2005 09:52 PM

just finished it, took nearly 70 hours, but hey, i wasnt in a hurry ;)

now to get the other 40-odd percent.
