"DA seeks to avoid victim testimony in cyber sex case

The Waukesha County district attorney said today he is trying to avoid having victims testify in the Internet blackmail case alleged against former New Berlin Eisenhower student Anthony Stancl.
"For child victims of sexual abuse, we have to find a way so they don't have to relive this in the courtroom," District Attorney Brad Schimel said.
Stancl is accused of posing as a female on the social networking site Facebook and persuading at least 31 boys to send naked pictures of themselves. Then Stancl blackmailed some of the boys into performing sex acts under the threat that the pictures would be released to the rest of the high school, according a criminal complaint.
Authorities believe there are more victims but no new victims have come forward to say they were victimized by Stancl, both Schimel and New Berlin police said today. All 31 boys attend New Berlin Eisenhower Middle/High School, Schimel has said.
Schimel said he is drafting today a letter to send to the parents of the victims that will help them understand the process, but he wants them to know that it is in the forefront of his mind to keep the victims off the stand in court.
He believes there is enough evidence on Stancl's computer that most of the 31 victims, ages 13 to 19, would never have to see a courtroom. About 300 photos and movie clips of the boys were found on Stancl's computer, the complaint says.
Stancl, 18, is being held in the Waukesha County Jail on $250,000 bail.
The sexual assaults occurred in 2008 in a bathroom at the high school, the school parking lot, a New Berlin Public Library restroom, various parks and at some of the victims' homes.
At least seven boys, 15 to 17, were forced into performing sex acts, according to the complaint.
Police learned of Stancl's alleged activities after he was accused in a bomb threat that closed the high school and one victim came forward to police.
Stancl is charged with a bomb threat plus repeated sexual assault of same child (at least three violations of first- or second-degree sexual assault), possession of child pornography, second- and third-degree sexual assaults, and five counts of child enticement.
If convicted, Stancl faces a maximum penalty of nearly 300 years in prison.
A preliminary hearing for Stancl has been scheduled for Feb. 26."

If I heard that someone was going to show naked photos of some boy from my school, I can't imagine that I would care too much. There would be a few giggling teenage girls and that person would be known as the guy who showed their cock to the school, but that's nowhere near as bad as being raped or forced to suck a dick. The story does sound a lot like the "Cartman Sucks" episode of South Park.

I feel this gives my anti-suburbs, anti-soccermom argument more credit. This is like what "A Bridge too Far" is to the Caine-Hackman theory. The final defining piece of evidence I need.

At the high school i went to there was a guy that was the gym teacher in the late 80s. He would trade high school students pot and steroids for jars of their urine. He told the boys that he needed to drink the urine because of an experiment he took part in during the Vietnam war. He would tell them he needed the "vitamins" of teenage boys to stay alive.

And yeah that kid sounds like an asshole, but I bet I could walk into any high school in this country and find several boys who have blackmailed, in one way or another, younger girls into having non-consensual sex.

Yes I recall hearing about that experiment, the army was using German pornography to gain a psychological edge against the Cambodians since Nixon couldn't openly bomb them. They had dropped leaflets containing imagery as well as the chemical agent "LSD" being sprayed from aircraft.
