Sin City

Saw this today. Thought it was funny. It had nice cinematography.

from the advertising the movie looked quite delightful, it may be worth my 10 dollars.

I knew Mickey Rourke was gonna be good for this movie, but goddamn, he was just too perfect.

pjalne Apr 2nd, 2005 03:18 AM

I've got a big boner for this movie, but it won't start playing here until late July. :tear

executioneer Apr 2nd, 2005 03:19 AM

Bell E. Laffs Apr 2nd, 2005 04:33 AM

My favourite part was with the prostitute.

Schimid Apr 3rd, 2005 01:39 AM

Kevin is one of my new favorite movie characters, now, along with those two smart thugs.

EDIT - And the Kevin/Wolf scene is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

EDIT2 - And hooooooly crap Alexis Bledel is gorgeous.

executioneer Apr 3rd, 2005 01:41 AM

i liked the guy who was all 'omg look i got shot guys! whoa!'

Chojin Apr 3rd, 2005 04:12 AM

i thoguht the only really stupid part was the guy who was like 'woah!' 'man, look at this thing!' 'should i go see a doctor or something!' 'ha ha, how zany this is!'

the movie reeked of tarantino, which is a mixed blessing. But it didn't really have any 'up' parts (except for the alley gundown), the whole thing was one big downer. A really pretty and well-done downer, though.

ItalianStereotype Apr 3rd, 2005 04:34 AM

I was surprised at how faithful this movie was to the comic :o

Rongi Apr 3rd, 2005 04:45 AM

chojin, even tho you didnt really like it, you have to admit this is without a shadow of a doubt the best comic book movie

executioneer Apr 3rd, 2005 04:46 AM

it sounded like he liked it to me :/

Rongi Apr 3rd, 2005 04:54 AM

to me it sounds like he liked the cinematography and the look of it but not the movie itself :(

executioneer Apr 3rd, 2005 05:01 AM

IDK

Bell E. Laffs Apr 3rd, 2005 05:37 AM

emu doesnt like violence

executioneer Apr 3rd, 2005 06:07 AM

i listened to the AC/DC song of the same title before i went to see the movie :(

Command Prompt Apr 25th, 2005 03:57 AM

I never really liked the comic but it was pretty cool. The only part I didn't like was Bruce Willis didn't really look all that old and sick, like his character was supposed to be, but whatever.

Marv is fucking wicked. Micky Rourke has changed his face with so much plastic surgery it finally worked out in his benefit.

And that chick from Gilmore girls is fucking hot. And so is Jessica alba. :eek

I never had a chance to see this until recently as it came out on DVD, and I was completely blown away by it. I have never seen anything this ambitious pulled off so well.
The only part I wasn't thrilled about was the third story. It went kind of stupid with some of the acting (more campy I should say) and the comedy relief was just agonizing. It seemed to try and make it into "funny violence" and ruined the mood. But even though I didn't worship every aspect of that story, didn't mean it still wasn't fantastic.

I feel like I can't appreciate this movie enough; almost every cut, every camera angle, is worth admiration. I don't like very many movies, but I wanted to make love to this one.

I saw this about a month ago, but I didn't see this thread back then.
Anyways, this was the only movie i've been to, where the audience actually appaluded when the credits started rolling. And I have to admit, they applauded for a good reason. This movie was awesome beyond belief.
I liked Marv episode the most, but the rest of the movie was outstanding aswell. Elijah Wood creeped me out, and the scene with the wolf was pretty twisted. Propably one of the most satisfying movie deaths i've witnessed.
I'm definetly buying the DVD the minute its released in here.
