I love this game as well, i remember that my best friend had this game and we would play it for hours. in face years later i found a copy for myself ina pawn shop for, get this, $3 Canadian...

LOL i made off like a bandit!!!

This game was freaking sweet. And yeah, I'd always play as The Amazon. Same reasonI'd always play as Blanka in Street Fighter II, green scary guys are awesome.

The first time I actually beat the Great Puma I called up one of my friends at 2 am to brag about it.

This was our all-time, non-stop, most fun to play game during an all night NES and Jolt cola bender with your friends. It was nice because no matter who you chose, it was a pretty even battle between everyone.

Save for one. Enter the Slender One. I don't think the article really punctuates just how much of a cheat Slender was. To win with him was a simple BBBBBBBBBB for some power slams until your opponent was weakened followed by AAAAAAAAA for as many vertebrae-shattering backbreakers as it would take. Not only would you defeat the pixelated opponent but you would actually backbreaker your friend's spirit if you listened close enough.

BUT WHERE IS THE GREAT PUMA???? I know you can't actually select the underwear clad Tony the Tiger but I would have like to see him. Armed with EVERY special ability of all the other wrestlers your only hope for defeating him was a toss outside the ring and throwing him into the turnbuckle for a cheap count-out.

As for extra features go, doesn't this game has any sort of sexual material that isn't supposed to be there?

A winned is you, indeed.

Oh man, I remember this game. Not my favorite but fun none the less, Starman was always a perenial favorite for the ring on my side. Who didn't love the look of him!

Read further down in the review and you'll see where I talk about him. Guess you missed that part. Anyway, yeah, King Slender could destroy you if one of your friends kept using the ultra-easy backbreakers.

But of course!

Ah, not sure how I missed the PUMA. LOL and you included "A WINNER IS YOU". That's what I get for enjoying my Imockery fix while also trying to work.

Now my NEW Wrestling memories are complete! :)

I remember this was on the shortlist of games I HAD to own when I first got my NES. However at that time, Pro Wrestling was not available (It had been out a tad too long and they had newer games to sell at the toy stores.) It wasn't until the Used Game Store had made it onto the scene that I was able to snatch up a copy of this gem. It still makes my all time favorite NES game list now.

Now, how long till we get to see a review of Tecmo World Wrestling for the NES?

Aside from the mario games, this is by far my favorite nes title EVER! The amazon was also my favorite and like doctor who said, it was also the reason I liked blanka so much on street fighter years later.

Don't forget about WWF nes game as well, worth the price of admission for the HORRIBLE midi versions of the character's entrance themes.

Pro Wrestling had all the face chomping goodness that the NES could provide.
