Dextire, I'm sure you will have no problems fitting in here at I-Mockery. That picture of you as Cobra is amazing :lol Glad you enjoyed the swag, and bubble wrap is a legitimate gift.

But wait, this just in:

We LOVE The Leader! :love
(in a spoiler because my pictures didn't get shrunk as much as they normally do)
Spoilers!

Bonus: Pictures I didn't use.

Can YOU use ham-radio in a sentence?

dextire Dec 16th, 2009 01:00 PM

Now that's a haul! Way to go, MarioRPG. Overkill much, Leader? :)
That has to be the most wrinkled-up shirt I've ever seen.

And the awesome gifts ham-radio just keeps a blaring.

Fathom Zero Dec 16th, 2009 01:55 PM

Never wash the crumply shirt.

The Leader Dec 16th, 2009 02:35 PM

I'm glad you enjoyed the goodies MarioRPG! I put plastic wrap over the adress/picture paper thing, so if you want to frame it you can just take the tape off. It will probably be worth something one day. ;/

Babs Dec 16th, 2009 02:54 PM

The Leader is truly the best

That's why he's leader.

Microshock Dec 16th, 2009 06:39 PM

Ok, as soon as I get access to the camera (today or tomorrow), I'll post pictures of all the stuff.

Zomboid Dec 16th, 2009 07:17 PM

:rolleyes

Zomboid Dec 17th, 2009 12:44 AM

Oh, forgot to mention. I don't have my gift yet either, but I'm cool with that. I pretty much always get mine late, and I'm not back where it's being mailed to yet anyway.

Zhukov Dec 17th, 2009 01:13 AM

Well the parcel sent to me has to go through about three quarantines, and it's also a long way to go, especially if they take the cheap route and send it via a boat or something. I am also cool.

Babs Dec 17th, 2009 02:21 AM

I haven't got mine yet but I'm very patient.

BatmanJohnson Dec 17th, 2009 08:32 AM

Well played Ghost, Well Played, I just realized what you did.

DonkeyRyan Dec 17th, 2009 08:48 AM

I am also still waiting for my gift. Everyday I think that it's going to be the day...

I'm sure that it will come soon.

You shouldn't have told me that, now I am going to ask you for advice because you are a more mature role model. Expect thousands of PMs asking what I should do to avoid cooties, and why am I getting hair where there was no hair before.

EDIT: GF is on her way over with the camera as we speak, so I should have pics posted by the days end at the latest barring any unforeseen issues (though I do have a plan B should the camera have issues)

Pentegarn Dec 17th, 2009 02:49 PM

OK, I finally got things ready to go (Sorry for it taking 3 days)

Here's how it all went down...

I was having a normal day when I suddenly noticed I received a package in the mail. "Zounds!" I said, because I apparently talk like that now.

"A package from Australia! I hope it is boomerangs and didgeridoos! I loves me some didgeridoos!" Then I realized it must be from my Secret Santa.

The first thing I discovered is the Australian PS does not tag spoilers.

So according to this book that I think BatmanJohnson wrote (his name is on it after all) I should wear festive livery while opening yuletide packages!

Now we're cooking with oil! Time to open this box!

Ah a card from Zhukov (that solves the mystery of my Secret Santa) with Australian animals on it. This shows promise, until I receive some startling news....

Christmas has been canceled!!! Bummer. But I did get permission to celebrate May Day early. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

A Mario hat! Now I too can look like my favorite plumber! I donned the hat and jumped triumphantly into the air but...

I hit my head on the ceiling and knocked myself silly(er) Those hats need to come with warning labels.

AH-HA! It takes more than a hat to be like Mario, it takes his paunch too, which must be why Zhukov sent me this delicious assortment of candy cookies and chocolate! I proceeded to devour the entire thing but...

I forgot eating too much candy can cause you stomach cramps.

No time for that, I had a package of Ghostbusters collectible cards with bubblegum to open. That will make me feel better. Well it would have except....

I chewed the gum

Literature! This will keep me from giving myself stomach cramps and massive head trauma! At last things were going my way. Not only was this a macho graphic novel filled with pictures that someone like me who can't read well can enjoy, but it is guaranteed to not lead to any injury!

Hand made hand painted Tasmanian soldiers. We all know how rough and tumble the Australian military is.

A manly gift if ever there was one. Maybe too manly though because....

They beat the piss out of me and stole my macho graphic novel!

Thanks for the great stuff Zhukov! Merry May Day!

executioneer Dec 17th, 2009 04:07 PM

my s. santa outgoing package's tracking info hasn't changed since the 11th, i think something may be wrong :(

BatmanJohnson Dec 17th, 2009 05:14 PM

Nice story, Love the mention. Yorkie Bars are so good, and they're not for Girls.

dextire Dec 18th, 2009 12:37 AM

Pentegarn, I have no idea why looking at you lying on the floor is so funny, but it is. Nice job! :)

That's quite the mighty haul you gave there, Zhukov!
Out of all of the nasty sounding candies I've tried, Sour Cola Zombie Chews are the best.

Thanks

My GF noticed the Sour Cola Zombie Chews before any other candy

EDIT: Wow I just noticed my birthmark really sticks out in the picture in question. That is NOT blood or a burn (he answered preemptively)

kakumei Dec 18th, 2009 02:58 AM

nice story, pentegarn! i hope you ate that yorkie bar yourself, since they are totally not for girls, as batmanjohnson mentioned.

ps. GO BUCKEYES!!!

BatmanJohnson Dec 18th, 2009 09:30 AM

Zhukov Dec 18th, 2009 10:50 AM

Ha ha that's great Sherlock.

Anyway. Glad you liked the stuff Pentegarn. :) You were pretty close to getting a few more chocolate bars, but I ate them.

Pentegarn Dec 18th, 2009 11:35 AM

It's a good thing you did, or else I would have had to add a couple more pics of me lying on the floor from eating more candy :P

captain516 Dec 18th, 2009 11:38 PM

I finally got to watch a few episodes of He-man, and they're pretty amusing. Some of the ideas could've been cool if they took it further instead of dumbing it down.

Zomboid Dec 19th, 2009 02:38 PM

Willie destroyed everyone else in gift-giving. I'll post pictures when I'm not hungover. Aaaaawwwwwesome stuff, Willie!

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 19th, 2009 03:44 PM

I have yet to receive any gifts. :posh

executioneer Dec 19th, 2009 04:01 PM

hahah you'll get one don't worry ;(

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 19th, 2009 04:04 PM

I sent you a 20% coupon to Bed Bath and Beyond. Did you get it yet?

Babs Dec 19th, 2009 05:22 PM

GIVE ME MY FUCKING GIFT NOW NAZI

dextire Dec 20th, 2009 12:25 AM

So I did a little detective work, (meaning I went back and looked through the thread ;)) and here is how the Secret Santa event stands as of right now.

Participants who have yet to receive a SS package:

Babality Pancakes
Zhukov
DonkeyRyan

Participants who have yet to have a SS package received:
Nick - Shipped on the 11th.
Lumpisan - Shipped on the 13th.
Microshock - Said he was going to ship on the 7th or 8th, never confirmed.

Participants who have received a SS package and have not yet posted photos:

Zomboid - Recieved on the 19th.
Microshock - Received on the 7th.

Odd man out:
MrSmiley381 is still listed as a participant, but has not posted once in this thread, and no one has received a package from him.
(I'm guessing he doesn't actually belong on the list?)

So, excluding MrSmiley381, we have 3 people who have yet to receive a gift, and 3 people who have shipped late.
Which means, *knocking on wood, while crossing fingers, and holding lucky Madball* everyone who participated this year should get a gift! :)

MrSmiley381 Dec 20th, 2009 12:59 AM

I suppose I should jump in and clarify my standing. I did not make a post in the thread, but I did PM 10,000 Volt Ghost because I had some questions about where I should have my Secret Santa send my gift. My gift, however, did come Friday. Right now, we're trying to figure out why my package has not yet reached my Secret Santa.

I'll have photos up tomorrow most likely. I'm actually going to be sad if my Secret Santa doesn't get his package.

dextire Dec 20th, 2009 01:41 AM

Hmm... that's strange. That would make an even 20 participants by my count.
I wonder why 10,000 Volt Ghost paired himself up with 2 Secret Santas, if we had an even number of people?

Oh, well. I'm sure he will figure it out.

bigtimecow Dec 20th, 2009 02:16 AM

STILL WAITING ON MY GIFT FROM LAST YEAR GUYS :bitter

Babs Dec 20th, 2009 02:20 AM

Dextire, thanks for working out all the confusion, kudos.

captain516 Dec 20th, 2009 02:41 AM

yeah dextire if i get you next year I'll send you something awesome

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 20th, 2009 02:45 AM

OF FUCK. I'M SO DRUNK. PEOPLE SHOULD JUST PM ME FOR REALS. MRSMILEY3SOMETHING OR OTHER IS ACTUALY GOOD. FOR REALS TNOUGH, PM ME IF YOUN HAVEB'T RECEIVED YOUR GIBFT. DRUNK IS NO GOOD.

Zomboid Dec 20th, 2009 04:27 PM

Aight, braws!

Yesterday, after an hour of sleep, I left my place in the city and made the long, hungover journey to my mom's house for the holidays. Immediately after getting home, I was told that something was waiting for me at the post office.

I don't do wacky facial expressions, so wait for Microshock's pictures for that.
Anyway, I opened it up and was very pleasantly surprised to see A WHOLE MESS OF COOL STUFF.

First off:
I smoke, and I pretty much immediately opened that pack because I lost my fifth or sixth lighter this month. That's just useful. Plus, they're the cool lighters that allow you to do this:

Yeah, it looks like it's firing off a kamehameha. Evidently, they were intended to go with more pyro fun.

There's a disclaimer at the bottom telling me NOT to use it for arsons, but by the time I took the picture, I'd already tried to do just that. Unfortunately, it's way too cold outside for it to work right now :(

Yes, friends. I got four bags of emoticon cookies. Are they delicious as well as emotional? Yes, they are indeed. I just had one of the angry faces. Twas good!

This next thing proves that Willie went above and beyond, leaving everyone else looking cheap by comparison.
Yeah, that's a fucking Dreamcast.

A dreamcast that came with Quake 3 arena -- which just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite FPS games. Seriously, I played the hell out of that when it came out :(

It also came with two controllers!

One of which had the badass VMU accessory. If I remember correctly, it's like a handheld gaming thing/memory card that somehow interacts with certain games.

And emulators/roms! In his letter (not pictured) Willie specifically mentioned that he tested both Earthbound and Zombies Ate my Neighbors. You know me so well :(

I got all of that!

Thanks again, Willie! It's all fucking awesome. I definitely did not expect to be so impressed.

MarioRPG Dec 20th, 2009 04:28 PM

Haha, Mr. Smiley just comes outta nowhere! awesome.

Also, I'm sure 10k didn't purposely set himself up with his SS, and it was random.

Let's see the rest of those gifts guys! I'm sure they are all fantastic.

e: whoa crap Zomboid. A Dreamcast. My god that's amazing. Definitely went to someone who appreciates it. Great job willie. You rock the most.

Zomboid Dec 20th, 2009 04:38 PM

I definitely appreciate it. I just need to find and purchase the best game for Dreamcast:

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 20th, 2009 04:52 PM

Wowwie wow wow. A dreamcast beats everything out of the fucking water hands out.

:willieforprez

edit: fucking love power stone!!!!

bigtimecow Dec 20th, 2009 05:58 PM

willie

what the hell willie

Zhukov Dec 20th, 2009 05:58 PM

Holy crap a fucking Dreamcast.

Jesus Christ guys, I do a Secret Santa on another forum and all we send is a few lollies and a card. Jesus Christ.

Pentegarn Dec 20th, 2009 06:13 PM

The people who try have always been epic gift givers on this forum (I read some of the past results)

So far this year nobody has sucked. Which is in itself a Christmas miracle :P

captain516 Dec 20th, 2009 06:37 PM

What gives Willie, you trying to make the rest of us look bad?

dextire Dec 20th, 2009 06:38 PM

Ha Ha! Way to go, Willie! I bet you're glad you decided to join in this year, Zomboid. :)
Man, a Dreamcast, Power Stone, and Skies of Arcadia, and I'll see you in about 3 months.

There has not been a single gift this year that I would not love to get! Especially the ones I did get. :)
Everyone has really come through with awesome stuff!

Now we just have to hope everyone receives a gift and we're golden.
Merry Christmas!

Zomboid Dec 20th, 2009 06:46 PM

I was really reluctant to join this year, but I'm definitely glad that I did. I hope Leader enjoyed the stuff that I sent him, because it's stuff that I'd want to get.

Willie's gifts are just awesome. I didn't know what to expect this year, but ever since the first year, the threat of getting a bunch of shitty items and then being expected to be all wacky and hilarious with them has made me cautious. This year, though, I'm eating delicious cookies and looking forward to getting back to the city so I can hook this thing up to my TV and spend some time in nostalgia land. I could not have gotten anything better. I'll be even happier when the snow melts and I set my sidewalks ablaze with the bottle of FIRE GEL.

I haven't been fucked over by this event yet, and I actually always end up getting really great stuff, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Last night I wore one of the shirts you gave me and used the other one as a cape and ran around going "Woosh" really loud. It was awesome!

Zomboid Dec 20th, 2009 07:01 PM

I actually went back and tried to find out what you're even interested in. The only thing that seemed like it might work would be some stuff for models/dioramas. I was looking at a bunch of different sites to try and find some good stuff, but that shit is expensive for anything other than shitty little airplanes.

The Leader Dec 20th, 2009 07:05 PM

Yeah, that's why I make a lot of stuff from second hand crap I find. :(
I love the Onion too though! :rock

executioneer Dec 20th, 2009 07:31 PM

note: i did not buy that dreamcast and was never going to enjoy playing it due to bad memories associated w/ it :( I AM GLAD YOU ENJOY IT

Zhukov Dec 20th, 2009 08:10 PM

You STOLE a Dreamcast? I can see Sonic wagging his finger at you as I type.

Babs Dec 20th, 2009 08:16 PM

Nick Dec 20th, 2009 08:17 PM

Zomboid Dec 20th, 2009 10:41 PM

So this thing belonged to a CRIMINAL? That makes it even better! Honestly, the kid who I played dreamcast with in Jr High went on to become a crack dealer/head. I think these things are cursed unless you get them as gifts or something. That seems to void the curse.

My brother (MailCall) and I went half-sies on one, he eventually gave me his half though, so maybe you have to be given at least half of one to avoid the curse :lol

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 21st, 2009 12:26 AM

Hahahaha, I bet his crime was that he GAVE a dreamcast away.

Babs Dec 21st, 2009 12:32 AM

What's ironic was that I was really thinking about giving 10K one as well. I was going to include KISS Pyscho Circus, Unreal Tournament, and Soul Calibur. I still love you though.

10,000 Volt Ghost Dec 21st, 2009 12:40 AM

Creepy...
My uncle stole my Dreamcast to give to his (then) very bratty kids. He's just got out of prison after 2 years for drugs. I guess I should thank him. :eek

I wish Microshock would post his pictures already. I mean, I don't want to pressure the guy, but he did say he would post them by the 17th.
Although it took me 2 days longer then I planned to post pictures myself, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Anyhow, I really hope everyone else receives the late packages soon (as in the morning).

BatmanJohnson Dec 21st, 2009 01:17 AM

Dreamcasts are awesome!!! I miss mine now. Maybe this will be the year Microshock is banned. A present to all!

Babs Dec 21st, 2009 02:13 AM

I really think he just doesn't want anyone to know what he looks like.

Zomboid Dec 21st, 2009 02:17 AM

He's participated in a couple of other secret santa events, so we all know that he looks like the stupid kid that he is.

kakumei Dec 21st, 2009 03:57 AM

of course, the one day this week i could have taken off from work (but i didn't, because i'm a sap), i miss out on yelling about how much i love dreamcast, so now i'm late to the "i love dreamcast" party. my best friend promised me his dreamcast, but he doesn't remember where he put it, so now we have no idea where it is because it's entirely possible that one of his parents might have donated it to the salvation army. twas a sad day for powerstone j, soul calibur, marvel vs. capcom 2, psychic force 2012, skies of arcadia... at least i know where the 8-bit nintendo (and gold cartridge legend of zelda!) is that he said i could have.

DonkeyRyan Dec 21st, 2009 08:49 AM

I still haven't received my gift. I'm counting on it coming today. If I'm expecting a package i always count on it coming after the weekend. PLEASE COME.

BatmanJohnson Dec 21st, 2009 10:06 AM

Oh god the lose of all those games hurts deep down. I can't remember what I did with my dreamcast. But I wish I hadn't done what ever it was.

Pentegarn Dec 21st, 2009 10:49 AM

Skies of Arcadia was a damn fine game to be sure

executioneer Dec 21st, 2009 04:05 PM

oh and uh zomboid ps just in case you didnt know you can also use the "invisible flame gel" to sanitize your hands and maybe keep from getting h1n1 :-[

Zomboid Dec 21st, 2009 04:17 PM

I've already had h1n1 :(. I'll use it like everyone else does: as an ineffective substitute for hand-washing!

And it also might be used to burn down some things.

DonkeyRyan, I hope you don't screwed over, because those were really awesome gifts(the conan figure is now keeping my desk company). I can;t send you anything, but if anybody wants to, PM me for the address.

Microshock Dec 21st, 2009 06:43 PM

Pictures will only be a couple of hours now, sorry for the wait Captain and you guys.

By the way, my SS has the package, but apparently left the day it came.

Microshock Dec 21st, 2009 07:48 PM

OK HERE IT IS! Captain, i left some stuff out like the little water fountain because i took it over to someone's house in Pennsylvania, but enjoy these pictures anyway!

HANDY TIP: if you want it to stop being a gel and turn into a liquid, add common table salt! :themoreyouknow :pointlessinformation

Zomboid Dec 21st, 2009 08:26 PM

Does that negate the FLAMING properties at all?

Also, I'll be the first to admit... I found Microshock's pictures very, very (un)funny. I can now see why it took so (fucking) long to post those great(ly stupid) images. Great job (fucking up again), Microshock!

executioneer Dec 21st, 2009 08:28 PM

it does not! in fact, the SALT will also become flaming for a brief period, and will burn with a yellow, more visible flame

captain516 Dec 21st, 2009 09:01 PM

Yeah I hate to say it,but that one picture with all the comics in it is pretty bad. You can't even tell what the one on the far right is! Did you enjoy the movies?

Microshock Dec 21st, 2009 09:03 PM

I'm going to watch them over Christmas Break. Anyway, why are they bad? I really can't do any better....sorry, i hope at least the titles of the comics are visible?

It didn't look so blurry before I uploaded them. And I don't know why the picture got so overblown.

Zomboid Dec 21st, 2009 09:21 PM

Is that the Punisher with Dolph or Thomas Jane, Captain?

dextire Dec 21st, 2009 09:26 PM

Well, thanks for posting pictures, Microshock. You got some very cool stuff!

Very generous load of stuff there, Captain!
Do you mind giving us a tally? I can't even tell which Punisher is on the right. :)

captain516 Dec 21st, 2009 09:37 PM

It's the one with Dolph Lundgren.
By tally, do you mean a list of what I sent him?

DonkeyRyan Dec 21st, 2009 09:39 PM

That'd be nice, considering that he apparently didn't photograph everything you sent him.

Why'd you hype up my pictures so much? Also, I only left out one thing, which was a little bamboo water fountain. Everything else is in the pictures

That's alright, I understand if you don't want to.
That would be a lot of extra work for you, and I can somewhat make out the stuff.
Except for whatever is still in Pennsylvania, of course. :)

We were hyped by the gifts captain gave, not you.

Tell you what, when I get my hands on a better camera and a better lighting situation, ill repost the pictures. Right now, you'll have to live with this.

And pictures of my gift weren't posted either.

A camera doesn't cause pictures to come out blurry. The operator of the camera does.

Have the camera set on auto next time and shrink the pics.

I'll just use my webcam that i used in my GIF and just hold 2 comics at once in front of me. Just hold on guys, i only really do this once a year, so excuse me for technical errors.

I'm not going to give any promises to when ill post the new pictures. Shouldn't be long though. (Yes I know I said that before but i think i mean it)
