Installing satellites. Whose done it as an occupation?

A friend of mine is getting me hooked up with a job installing satellites and if anyone has done this before, how does it work? Do you sit around at Dish Network waiting for a job to come in? Do you sit at your house and wait? Do you get paid depending on how many you install, how many the company sells or is it just an hourly job where you get paid whether or not the company sells anything?

From what I hear the pay is about $800-1500 a week, and that would definitely be a welcome change from serving tables where I get at max $600 a week.

I work in a dispatching job, if dish network dispatches (and I suspect they must) then here's probably how it will work:

You will get some sort of device, be it a phone, a laptop, some sort of wireless media receiver, that will give you a list of jobs. Throughout the day 'add ons' will appear on said device. Your work day will end when all your jobs are complete and no other 'add ons' come down the pipe. Depending on the companies pay structure, you will get paid by the job, or modest hourly pay with a bonus structure for how many jobs per day you do

Are you going to be a helper or lead tech? Also is it really dish network or just some shyster reseller? I used to be a shyster reseller in a rural area and made a great deal of money doing things the dish guys werent allowed to do like cut down trees or put the dishes in wierd places. I worked at a sears dealer store so I would sell the person a TV, show up to deliver it in the truck, then later when they ordered dish network it was me who showed up again. Only a few people ever got suspicious.

I thought this was going to be about launching satellites at first, I'd totally be up for that shit

I did some contract work installing a satellite back in 1995. It was a big hush hush project that had the CIA convincing everyone that it was a weather satellite when it was really a weapon of mass destruction. Not to get into details but the project went BADLY and it ended up being destroyed while in orbit:
