Well it's not really worth explaining but i dont see why anybody with a college education and an understanding of what a guilt trip is would have a problem understanding that.

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2009 07:59 PM

Maybe I'm having an off night.

kahljorn Mar 26th, 2009 08:02 PM

prossibly.

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2009 08:34 PM

I'm trying to decide between unsweetened hot tea and sugarfree pudding (good for you, but vaguely unsatisfying) or unsweetened hot tea and two Petit Ecolier cookies (really really fucking good, but not very good for you and really hard to stop at two)

Any input? Other than to suck on the cookies and choke?

kahljorn Mar 26th, 2009 08:45 PM

I stopped being able to follow that after pudding ;\

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2009 08:52 PM

Come on, that was bitchy like a little girl. You're better than that.

Colonel Flagg Mar 26th, 2009 10:28 PM

I'm fasting and it SUCKS. >:

What I wouldn't give for some Salt & Vinegar chips RIGHT NOW!!!! :(

Kitsa Mar 26th, 2009 10:42 PM

I'm sorry :( Fasting sucks.

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 11:15 PM

Spicy Seafood flavored Nissin ramen. I add sriacha, soy sauce, and peanut sauce. Cept i didn't have peanut sauce so i used peanut butter.

Kitsa Mar 28th, 2009 07:55 PM

Wholewheat pita bread "pizzas" with homemade sauce and lowfat mozzarella, baked in a toaster oven. They were tasty. The best part of eating healthy is not feeling so gross afterward.

Zomboid Mar 28th, 2009 08:05 PM

TUMS!

Edit: And an advil! Going to be drinking lots of booze within an hour though :o

Colonel Flagg Mar 28th, 2009 08:57 PM

Chinese pan fried dumplings and wonton soup. About all that's gonna stay down, probably. :x

Kitsa Mar 28th, 2009 08:59 PM

did the fasting give you a headache?

Colonel Flagg Mar 29th, 2009 11:43 PM

I wish. I pigged out at lunchtime, then got extreme heartburn Friday night. The next morning it all came back to me - all over the driver's side car door, with my son in the front passenger seat. Fortunately, all he said was "Dad, what's that smell?" :x

Kitsa Mar 30th, 2009 01:52 PM

because I can't process sugar well on a med I have to take right now, my eating habits have turned sickeningly healthy and I'm going crazy. I wanted to eat half a box of Girl Scout cookies but instead, raisins and an orange. And so on. And right now I'm thinking maybe I need to get those cookies out of the house :(

So far today I've had sugarfree peanut butter on low-carb multigrain toast, tea with skim milk, and aforementioned raisins and orange. I feel like I'd like to chew big chunks out of the walls at the moment.

I've evaluated my options and decided to make myself a South Indian meal...rava idli and sambhar. I don't think I can go too wrong there, but we'll see. :/

I'll add last night's leftover veggies to the sambhar to make myself feel better.

Colonel Flagg Mar 31st, 2009 11:33 AM

Combos® - they CHEESE your hunger away.

Kitsa Mar 31st, 2009 11:44 AM

We tried the new Taco Bell Fresca tacos last night. They're not bad. I didn't miss the cheese and sour cream at all, the pico de gallo is a more than adequate replacement.

The bf also brought home some sort of brown-rice-based doritos-alike that was actually incredibly good.

Kitsa Apr 2nd, 2009 08:56 PM

I had too many slices of Pizza Hut Natural pizza. I like it, but having eaten pizza I now feel gross :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Apr 4th, 2009 04:20 PM

Is PH natural pizza just their regular pizza?

Kitsa Apr 4th, 2009 04:50 PM

In my opinion, it tastes better.

The crust is whole-wheat and it supposedly uses "natural" cheese and sauce. When the bf ordered a sausage pizza, the sausage was in thick, round slices, more like kielbasa than the standard sausage nuggets.

I tried a slice of the natural, I tried a slice of the regular, and the regular made me feel greasy and nasty. I'd order just the natural from now on if it was up to me.

I'm about to have a bison burger, "organic" shells and cheese (I like the idea of organic, but due to my history I'm a little suspicious of how pure it really is) and stir-fried onions, peppers and zucchini.

I went a little nuts and ate half a box of Girl Scout cookies last night :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Apr 4th, 2009 04:58 PM

G.S. cookies are delicious as long as they're not part of the ingrediants. I'm so hungry right now. I want to get a chiavetta's sandwhich somewhere.

Kitsa Apr 10th, 2009 09:27 PM

Esuohlim Apr 12th, 2009 02:46 AM

I MA EATING AN HAMBURGER >:

lol I ate an entire stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut about six hours ago and I felt like puking afterwards but I'm hungry again :(

Fast metabolisms are awesome, I'll probably have more pizza later :D

Sam Apr 12th, 2009 03:29 AM

I bet you took that fucking picture just now. >:

Tadao Apr 12th, 2009 03:34 AM

That looks good!

Kitsa Apr 12th, 2009 04:04 AM

I got some books that tell you how many Little Debbie snack cakes' worth of sugar that energy drinks and juices are. And how much shit you can eat when you think you're eating healthy.

http://www.menshealth.com/eatthis/Th...rica/index.php

They're like kiddie picture books but you can't put them down. I've got a grotesque fascination with the 5 Little Debbie oatmeal cream pies stacked up next to the bottle of "juice".

One of the Hungry-Man chicken dinners they say has the equivalent of 5 krispy kreme donuts' worth of fat.

ZeldaQueen Apr 12th, 2009 11:14 AM

I've seen things like that, Kitsa. Reminds me of when my mom did some invenstigating on what exactly was in the foods we were eating. The result was that we got a huge diet purge, mostly involving stuff with high fructose corn syrup.

I just ate two small chocolate eggs from my Easter Basket. :love Happy Easter all!

Actually no. I wanted to though.

I really should eat it fast, otherwise my mom gets stressed and eats some of it.

Esuohlim Apr 12th, 2009 04:08 PM

Thank you I just love hearing about your mom in every single post you make

Tadao Apr 12th, 2009 04:20 PM

Funny, I think it would do your mind a lot of good.

Kitsa Apr 14th, 2009 12:19 PM

I got pissed off at the local mexican places because no one does black bean soup right. The last place I went to, I seriously think they just mixed a can of beans with a can of water and heated it up.

I do a can of rinsed beans with only a little bit of water, some chopped onions and garlic, a shitload of tabasco sauce and a little sea salt. And then you've gotta make sure to smush the beans when you're stirring it so the soup will be good and thick.

Black beans are very, very good for you.

Kitsa Apr 15th, 2009 08:44 AM

I tried a bite of one but found it meh. How did you like yours?

This is breakfast for me. I'm taking pictures because I gots to keep this shit honest, yo. Otherwise it'd be too easy to say, "Oh, I had soy waffles and sprouts" and gorge myself on cake.

I guess I could technically take a picture of a healthy meal and then gorge myself on cake but GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU FUCKERS.

Fathom Zero Sep 7th, 2009 06:05 PM

I actually have never had a magherita-style pizza before, and I have to say that I enjoy them more than the typical sauce monstrosities.

The Leader Sep 7th, 2009 07:06 PM

They are good.

I was trying to decide.

I went with the donair.

Kitsa Sep 7th, 2009 07:49 PM

I thought donairs were almost exclusively Nova Scotia. Weird. Then again, I've never seen poutine outside QC.

stevetothepast Sep 7th, 2009 08:08 PM

I'm right next door to Nova scotia, so yes. And poutine is all over canada too. Even our KFC's server poutine.

executioneer Sep 7th, 2009 08:21 PM

a donair does sound v. tasty though i've not had one before

Fathom Zero Sep 7th, 2009 08:22 PM

The KFC bowls are roughly the same idea.

http://www.kfc.com/menu/bowls.asp

Kitsa Sep 7th, 2009 08:23 PM

According to wikipedia there's such a thing as a "donair poutine". Now THAT I'd like to see.

Fathom Zero Sep 7th, 2009 08:26 PM

Fucking love fucking doner kebabs. I'm looking for a Greek place around me, as a matter of fact.

it's actually not that good.

we have a local pizza place (Jacks Pizza) that sells the donair poutine as well.

They have really good pizza by the slice, which is a quarter of the biggest pizza they have, and their motto is "If you think size don't matter you don't know Jack!".

Colonel Flagg Sep 8th, 2009 01:27 PM

A "Leaning Tower" panini from Giant. It's actually quite good, and it's on sale RIGHT NOW!

(Gods, but I'm a cheap bastard.) :(

Kitsa Sep 8th, 2009 01:44 PM

I just ate more than my share of chicken salad on triscuits. I got a basket of blackberries from the farmer's market (our county allows pregnant women $15/season toward produce and that was my big purchase*) and I think I might make blackberry crisp or a cobbler later.

* The berries were $5. I also got 2 ears of corn, a head of broccoli and a "local melon" for my $15.

stevetothepast Sep 8th, 2009 02:34 PM

I like blackberries, but they are damn expensive here, unless you buy them frozen. This a.m. I had a grilled ham and cheese.

Kitsa Sep 8th, 2009 03:47 PM

Blackberries are usually expensive here too; I was surprised that the yuppie farmer's market had them at all. But since the county thinks I'll birth a monster if they don't tell me what to eat, I hand over the Coupon of Shame and the berries are free.

stevetothepast Sep 8th, 2009 04:19 PM

It's actually pretty cool that they give you that.

Kitsa Sep 8th, 2009 04:34 PM

It's very cool, but sometimes the ladies at the farmer's market give you attitude about it. What you can get varies with their whim (the woman told me she wouldn't "let go" of the peaches, for example). She basically told me what I could have and that's what I got.

Once I washed and picked over the berries, though, they were very nice. And the blackberry crisp looks/smells delicious.

executioneer Sep 8th, 2009 05:42 PM

blackberries are probably the best tasting thing ever :(

Guitar Woman Sep 8th, 2009 06:43 PM

:O That sounds good. Healthier, if nothing else, I'd imagine.

I was looking like hell for a Greek place around here, but I didn't have time. It's across town. So I settled for some Chinese. I dunno what you'd call it, since it was cabbage, broccoli, carrots, pork, chicken, and tofu tossed together in some savory sauce and thrown on some rice.

It was wonderful.

Kitsa Sep 9th, 2009 06:42 AM

I had cheese tamales and white rice.

Zhukov Sep 9th, 2009 09:48 AM

You guys don't get blackberries growing all over the damn place? I can't walk five meters without treading on a bush. Blueberries are the hard to get and expensive stuff here, and I like them the best.

executioneer Sep 9th, 2009 10:03 AM

I get blackberries growing all over the damn place! like three different varieties

although the Himalayan ones are less of a useful food producer and more of an unkillable brambly menace

Fathom Zero Sep 9th, 2009 10:40 AM

I want to let you know, Willie, that that made me laugh in the middle of class out loud. I think I imagined you saying it and then the emphasis on UNKILLABLE BRAMBLY MENACE.

stevetothepast Sep 9th, 2009 10:56 AM

My parents have about 3 acres of blueberries on their property. After my old man retired from lobster fishing that's all he does for mula mula.

i had to clean out an old greenhouse once that was floor-to-ceiling full of the damn things and it was extremely difficult and unpleasant (we're talking a twelve-foot high and about thirty foot deep mass, here >: )

Fathom Zero Sep 9th, 2009 11:52 AM

You should've burned it out. Or ripped it all out with a back hoe.

Zhukov Sep 9th, 2009 12:05 PM

Blackberries are indeed tough stuff. You have to use a shovel - a sharp one.

executioneer Sep 9th, 2009 03:48 PM

well since we were trying to disassemble the greenhouse so we could relocate it, it all had to get chopped down by hand with machetes, pruning shears and a gas-powered brush cutter. It almost would've been fun if it hadn't been mid-summer and in the 90s

I just had a big piece of watermelon from that yuppie farmer's market. It was so ripe that it burst open when I'd barely touched it with the knife. Actually tasted watermelon-y, not like the watery ones from grocery stores.

Zhukov Sep 9th, 2009 10:03 PM

That particular Kebab is lauded as the American stylee 'Yankee-Doodle'. It was delicious.

I could go for some watermelon today. But I don't like my chances of getting any fresh stuff.
