Factoid - Baclofen in small doses was trialed about 5-10 years ago for alcoholics as an anti-drinking drug, with a moderate success rate. I'm not sure if it has been approved for general use for this purpose.

I was on the 10s for a long time, and I don't remember having the kind of sensation that they gave me when I started back up.

I can say with all confidence that when I am not on them, my alcohol consumption is not in the least affected.

But as it is, I worry too much to do both at once. Not as much being nonsensical or sleeping the Sleep of Ages, but rather shitting my pants and/or having a seizure and/or lapsing into a coma. Baclofen makes me feel that anything is possible.

Of course, it's no Dilautid. Ho-lee-fucking-hell.

I had some Speyburn Highland Malt Scotch this evening. Remarkably tasty. :posh

Went to a free beer tasting last night. It was also a cigar bar though so I don't think everthing tasted as good as it could've. I did try some foreign beer with a bear on it called Kurumha or something like that. It didn't impress me compared to how much it probably cost. I got some Harpoon I.P.A. for free which is one of my favorites. There was some delicious Scotch Ale and Cider too. I don't think I'll be going next month just because of the enclosed cigar stench though.

I got some Dead Guy Ale.

Fantastic, as far as beer goes, but also ridiculously expensive.

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 03:43 PM

eh, it is OK. I can name a dozen ales of similar type that are better.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 27th, 2009 04:41 PM

I like Dead Guy because I can get a Growler filled with it. They only had Dofish head IPA 60 again so I didn't bother with it.

kahljorn Mar 27th, 2009 04:54 PM

Have you guys ever tried Gottlands Zero Fist sans Populist Ale .5infinity?

fucking delicious :( THE BEST PART ABOUT IT IS POSTING ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNET

Kitsa Mar 27th, 2009 05:57 PM

Nope :(

Know what alcohol I can't stand? Coconut rum. Even the smell of it makes me want to puke.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 27th, 2009 06:00 PM

TRY IT WITH ROOT BEER FOR A COCANROO! It's delicious :)

Kitsa Mar 27th, 2009 06:05 PM

I can never get past the smell :(

I don't know why. Other fake coconut smell, shampoos and suntan lotions, doesn't bother me.

I have had 99-proof rootbeer schnapps, and that was like having a lit cigar stubbed out on my tongue. It was a nasty experience, which seems completely unnecessary when you take into account how smooth some high-proof whiskey can be.

kahljorn Mar 27th, 2009 06:12 PM

i can't handle coconut rum either. It's way too sweet for me :( Same goes for most of the scnapps i have tried. Really i cant drink anything flavored ;\

watermelon vodka is alright but even that is almost too much.

Lenor Mar 27th, 2009 08:37 PM

Alcohol yayyy!!!

A shot of Jaeger, Bacardi 151, and Rumpelmintz *liquid cocaine*
A shot of malibu rum, Bacardi 151, and pineapple juice

VODKA

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 08:51 PM

I am not a fan of complicated drinks. I feel that one should have no more than one type of alcohol in a drink. VODKA TONICS.

Tadao Mar 27th, 2009 08:54 PM

:lol All I drink is vodka on ice and stout beer.

Lenor Mar 27th, 2009 08:55 PM

My grandmother drinks Vodka Tonic's...

Are you my grandmother?? ::waves:: HI!!!

Lenor Mar 27th, 2009 08:56 PM

Guiness or Killieans (sp) ???

Tadao Mar 27th, 2009 08:57 PM

Always Guinness, unless they don't have it.

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 08:58 PM

This is excluding cordials and liqueurs.

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 08:59 PM

Guiness is boring. I like REAL stouts.

What is?

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 09:12 PM

YOu are allowed one cordial or liqueur in addition to the liquor.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 27th, 2009 09:14 PM

Fuck Guinness. I would at least.....

Beamish is fucking delicious!

Big McLargehuge Mar 27th, 2009 09:18 PM

Sam Smith makes the best stouts. Specifically their oatmeal and imperial stouts.

Tadao Mar 27th, 2009 09:20 PM

Those aren't stouts, it's fluff for the masses. I thought you liked real stout.
