The Jagermeister tour is coming and I was thinking about going. Dumb question, does anyone know if they give out free Jager?

Also going to Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish and Motorhead this summer.

Who's playing vrs how drunk I would have to be to stay.

3 inches of blood are opening, really just going for them, then Hatebreed and Type O Negative are co-headlining. Level of intoxication would most likely be high.


I just missed VGS the other day too, they're doing an east coast tour right now.

Nah it's pretty unlikely you'll get any for free. Instead they allow you to buy it at above-average prices. That's how it works over here anyway.

I've seen Hatebreed before and they're actually pretty awesome. You do run the risk of being killed in the pits though.

I know, the place it's at is a pretty big area for a pit. I almost got beheaded a bunch of times last year there at GWAR, but I'm expecting this to be much more intens(ive care unit)

I used to get drunk at Fugazi shows and join the pit. I never knew why I had such a hard time in the pit until years later I found out about the sXe (or whatever thathey go by) kids.

It has a good lineup, but not going for monetary reasons.

There's one coming up called mayhem fest which has Red Chord, Mastodon and Walls of Jericho playing. However, also are Dragonforce and slipknot. I personally don't mind either of these two bands, but the people who listen to them just piss me off. Also disturbed will be there, which I feel like they're going to make me join the Navy. Possibly will skip this entirely.

I saw the Beat Union, TAT and the aggrolites yesterday. They were pretty good. I got my shirt ripped in half and have a whole in my only pair of shorts. I think an armrest went half-way up my ass. Some guy gave me what looks like a solid gold shrunken chihuahua's head for break dancing.

Debating whether or not I'm going to drive 2 hrs to Kitchener, ON, CA to see the Planet Smashers. I haven't seen them in 4 years but they don't come to the U.S. anymore :(

man oh man, going to metal fests is a cornerstone to my life. Drinks and loud noise, the only thing you have to watch out for is beer guts caressing your back.

I love fests.
But I don't feel the need to torture myself over 2 days with a mediocre and mostly retarded death metal tin ear migraine for like 3 bands.
I've gotten to the point where unless I'm working, or going as someone's guest I don't even bother anymore. Besides, I don't drive.

European metalfests are the way fests should be over here.
I'm kinda hoping to make it over to Doom Shall Rise next time my husband gets an invite. DSR line-ups are always the best.

Yeah, sometimes you got stuck with kids who play nothing but breakdowns for about 2 hours straight and you just see their fans with grills in and they're nice little tidy b ball hats. I'm mainly going to see Blot Thrower, Bird Flesh, Pestilence, Atheist, Pig Destroyer (new album sucks dick), Brutal Truth, Immolation, and of course Napalm Death. They definitely out way all the other shit so I'm pretty stoked for sure. I love Mayhem but new Mayhem is not what I'm into at all.

The Doom Shall Rise fest is soooo fucking gnarly, I love doom a lot but mostly I'm into Ohm, Boris, SunnO))), and Wolves in the Throne Room the more dronish doom style.

I'll say it again, Mayhem was one of THE most disappointing moments of my life.
Fucking TERRIBLE.

At this point I've just sat through too many fests having to listen to crappy death metal to even care. The last fest I worked at had a band that wore glowing blacklight codpieces.

I saw Sunn a few years ago.
They played a couple of shows with Sigh and Deceased.
We thought Sunn were tuning and we were throwing beer cans on top of the "stage bathroom" next to the stage and cans were falling behind them when they played.
I kinda felt bad but they weren't very friendly to begin with.
Sigh and Deceased fucking rocked it.
Sigh did their amazing cover of Venom's Black Metal while we were dancing on the stage.

I can't really get into the drone stuff, I like a little rhythm in my doom.
I'm reallllly hoping to go to DSR within the next 3 years, but it isn't up to me.

Sigh is one hell of a band, I guarantee that shit was amazing especially with the Venom cover.

Isn't the Doom Shall Rise tour over in Germany? I wish I could attend that but that's a lot of money a long with it's next month so planning a flight with out months in advance would be pretty pricey.

The DSR tour goes all over Europe, but mainly Germany, yes.
The festival itself is in Germany, and yes trying to go now would be costly.
There's always next year. :)

I miss the Classic Metalfest that used to happen in Ohio.
That was always really fun.

I miss it too, I was actually thinking about the other day. Man, I was a regular to that and now nothing. I remember going when I was relatively young (16 I believe). I'm from Ohio so it was easily accessible.

I went to VIDEO GAMES LIVE last night and it was awesome. I'm not sure what you didn't like about it Zomboid.

They played a lot of different game music but what really REALLY blew me away was seeing/hearing the opening song for Chrono Cross live. It was beautiful :tear.

Going to Mayhem Fest next Saturday. Particularly for Slayer and Cannibal Corpse. Hopefully the amount of pseudogoths for Manson will be kept to a minimum.

Yeah....I heard that Slayer was touring....and then I heard with Manson with them. Hopefully they will stay in the shadows.

JayZ was good but I wanted to rock. Gogol Bordello put on a great show (of course), My Bloody Valentine sounded like shit (The sound system couldn't handle them) and Tool was better than I thought they would be.

So, we drove 12 hours to Nashville, TN this weekend for Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick. We show up to the arena and big letters "DEF LEPPARD POSTPONED, NEW EVENT TBA"

I was like "Really?"

That tour was just here last Friday. Rick Allen smiled at me while I was on the loading dock, waiting to sneak out of the back gate to see Cheap Trick. My night was good.

They came to Buffalo last month and we skipped it to see them in TN.

Seeing Heaven and Hell tomorrow, theMelvins Sep. 21, and then the Melvins again on the 28th...and maybe AC/DC on the 6th of Oct. if it ain'tsold out!

I purchased Mars Volta tickets the other day and can't be more excited to see them. They like to cancel shows at the last minute so my hopes aren't to high this year. Flaming Lips are coming soon as well, I would really love to see that as well seeing as they put on amazing shows.
