There's been such a lack of consistency with the Flyers lately, and they're still just a few points out of first place. WTF? |
Have you guys read about the Guardian Project between Stan Lee and the NHL where every team gets their own comic book character?
Ridiculous |
:(
I read into it a little more when I got home last night. I guess theres going to be a showdown between all of them at the allstar game.
HULK SMASH!
That's so much kak
I don't know why I love this, but I do.

Hockey is going on. Sabres got a new owner. Hopefully we'll be good again. The Flyers have been looking nice this season.
I think my Jets might be coming back really soon. :O
They should have never been moved. Do you think the Jets will come from the Coyotes or the Thrashers though?
If the bonds don't sell then it will be the Coyotes and they'll have to announce it within a couple of weeks because they make the schedules for arenas like a year in advance. Having the Coyotes makes it the best chance for team to be called the "Jets" again.
If somehow they find some crazy people with $100M to throw together to buy junk bonds, then the Thrashers will probably be quietly sold and move next season or the season after that. Lots of people in the AZ news are laughing about how Winnipeg couldn't support a team in the past, so how could they do it now? The main thing that screwed Winnipeg over originally was the low Canadian dollar (70 cents instead of on par like now) and the fact that the team was basically just renting the arena; the company that owned the arena (which has also gone bankrupt since 1996) didn't allow the team any part of the concession or parking revenue that they pulled in. The new potential owners of the team also own the arena, which is the #3 busiest arena in ALL of North America. Even if the team loses money, the team owners can make up for it with all of the other things that go on throughout the year at the arena. There's at least one big concert per week, conventions, trade shows, etc. Plus, one of the partners is Canada's richest person with a $19 BILLION fortune. He has more money than all of the other team owners combined. |
BTW, no one in Winnipeg ever thought that a bunch of right-wing nuts like Goldwater Institute would helping a bunch of pinko commies like us to get our team back. ;)
Uh oh... the weasely guy is gonna come up with a way to screw it all up! :(
Bettman is the only businessman I've ever heard of who literally runs away from guaranteed money. EDIT: No news is good news! |
I thought that said Batman.
Last home game of the year....hopefully until the playoffs. The new Sabres owner is having a fan appreciation event tonight and invited any Sabres Alumni who wanted to come and the owner will pick up the tab(flight, train, hotel, food beverage) which is awesome.
Playoff time!
GAME ON 10K. Buffalo-Philly.
So are you allowed to pick up the puck and throw it around?
The goalie might be, but with those gloves it wouldn't be convenient

I guess the Sabres are starting their first game next season in Finland. Rankeri....I am making you a Sabres fan if you read this.
This is fucking intense flagg
That was some goaltending clinic.
Flyers NEED Prongs. |
That game was intense. I'm going to be extra worried if Pronger comes back too now. Philly has awesome special teams I've noticed. Whenever we seem to get on the power play we could barely make it pass the blue line.
Game 3 tonight Flagg. I hope Buffalo doesn't get as many penalties as they did during the 2nd period of game two. That was a lot on our end but to me it just seemed like the reffing was completely different than from game 1 where they barely called anything.
