dumb kid

Tadao Oct 15th, 2009 03:40 PM

Hahaha it was empty

Fathom Zero Oct 15th, 2009 03:47 PM

Is it really? I can't see the news. I just saw it when I was eating lunch.

I was thinking about how if there's a kid in there and it lands safely, he'll get a made for TV movie, but if it crashes horribly, he'll be forgotten instantaneously because no one likes a story where a kid dies.

Tadao Oct 15th, 2009 03:48 PM

It landed softly and nobody seems to know wtf is going on ahahahahah

Fathom Zero Oct 15th, 2009 03:58 PM

As it turns out, the uncle that told them the kid was in the balloon was busy diddling the poor bastard.

I think.

george Oct 15th, 2009 04:28 PM

the passenger compartment was made of cardboard!!!!! goodbye young Falcon! Fly free ya' jimmy little bastard :)

Tadao Oct 15th, 2009 04:32 PM

I'm thinking the dad wanted to get his balloon launch televised, and made up the story of his kid being in there.

Dad may or may not believe in wacky ideas about brain waves and aliens.

Dr. Boogie Oct 15th, 2009 04:35 PM

I thought it was funny that the kid who flew off was named "Falcon".

Dimnos Oct 15th, 2009 04:38 PM

Falcon? Really? Thats great. :lol

george Oct 15th, 2009 04:56 PM

the power of positive naming.

The Leader Oct 15th, 2009 05:59 PM

This reminds me of that priest who tied a bunch of balloons to himself for a fund raiser and floated out over the ocean. I don't know if they ever recovered his body.

Tadao Oct 15th, 2009 06:16 PM

that sounds like a lie

The Leader Oct 15th, 2009 07:05 PM

The kid was found hiding in a box in the attic.

It'd be so memetastic if that kid Falcon grew up, became a raging alcoholic, got into a barfight, and threw...wait for it... a punch.

Is it just me, or do I smell publicity stunt?

Evil Robot Oct 16th, 2009 11:57 PM

Anytime a police helicopter has to take off it's an automatic $5000 bill to the tax payers.

george Oct 17th, 2009 11:43 AM

remember kids, balloons are for faggots.

Kitsa Oct 17th, 2009 01:06 PM

I remember them from an old Wife Swap episode. They're pretty zany. They probably got addicted to being on TV.

Evil Robot Oct 17th, 2009 01:52 PM

I bet the father does coke from time to time. He seems long term coke head crazy.

Kitsa Oct 17th, 2009 07:27 PM

Colonel Flagg Oct 18th, 2009 11:02 AM

And the Emmy goes to ....

Colonel Flagg Oct 18th, 2009 08:52 PM

One wonders why the police don't try this tactic more often.

Evil Robot Oct 18th, 2009 09:02 PM

Its time for the child protective services show!

george Oct 18th, 2009 09:33 PM

i would watch the child protective services show...one like to catch a predator, except they show some family getting their kids taken away cause the were neglecting their kids, i guess it would be more like a human version of Animal Cops than the predtor shows, but it would make dramatic viewing :(

Zhukov Oct 18th, 2009 10:21 PM

So it's been proven as a hoax, right?
