As of August 7th one of my dreams will come true

Some super awesome friends got me a front row ticket with them for Judas Priest, Motorhead, and Black Sabbath with Dio.
Best birthday present ever.

Ok so Tesla's opening and Judas Priest's last album was terrible, I'm trying to look at the bright side here. Though I may die of laughter if JP bust out their Lochness or Nostradomus song.

liquidstatik Jul 28th, 2008 01:40 AM

:]

Tadao Jul 28th, 2008 02:23 AM

: ))

10,000 Volt Ghost Jul 28th, 2008 04:41 PM

How much were tickets? I still have to get them for 8/12.

Dixie Jul 28th, 2008 04:48 PM

Oh crap, it's Testament not Tesla. Not like it makes a difference to me.

I know mine cost around $80. Where are they gonna be on the 12th? I hadn't seen a list of tour dates.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jul 28th, 2008 05:39 PM

Buffalo, ny

Dixie Jul 28th, 2008 07:14 PM

You should check out the free concert the day after Motorhead. The Spinners are awesome.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jul 28th, 2008 07:32 PM

Sweet deal. Thanks CIG. I might check out the Spinners, I have off the next day.

P.S. You have awesome friends!

Angryhydralisk Jul 31st, 2008 11:17 AM

That'd be a birthday to die for.

Sethomas Jul 31st, 2008 01:41 PM

And if you die on your birthday, your loved ones will only feel compelled to visit your grave once a year!

Dixie Jul 31st, 2008 06:21 PM

Hahaha Seth, honey, you're assuming I'd have a grave. You know me better than that!
:P

That waiting is totally killing me.

10,000 Volt Ghost Aug 4th, 2008 07:46 PM

Eh I don't think you'll be missing much. The setlist for Priest is really lame, and it includes that Nostradamus stuff. It looks like I'm going to be spending a good portion of time in the beer line. They're doing a few good songs but nothing you hadn't seen from them before. I really wish they'd pull out something from RockaRolla!

Tadao Aug 5th, 2008 09:50 PM

Are you gonna at least be geared up in leather and spikes?

Dixie Aug 5th, 2008 10:01 PM

I'm still planning my wardrobe.
I believe firmly that a miniskirt is in need for this occasion.
I'm debating on what super awesome metal t-shirt to pair with my clear heels and obnoxious drunken swagger.

Tadao Aug 5th, 2008 10:11 PM

I remember sneaking my spikes into Dio. I had to put them upside down in my shoes. It was a very sharp gauntlet. What is the list of metal shirts?

Dixie Aug 5th, 2008 10:21 PM

I've narrowed it down to:

Holy Terror Mind Wars
Jersey from Ram It Down tour
Jersey from Powerslave tour
Nigel Tufnel T-shirt
Venom-Nightmare tour T-shirt
Black Sabbath Mob Rules T-shirt
1977 German KISS tour shirt
Saxon Wheels of Steel jersey
Slough Feg girly T
Twisted Sister logo girly T
Deceased... Fearless Undead Machines jersey

Tadao Aug 5th, 2008 10:25 PM

Is the Mob Rules shirt the one with :rockfist in front of the cross and the brick wall on the back, cause I would pick that one as it reminds me of when my dad made me cut up all my shirts and posters in front of him one day after I had pushed him to his wits ends.

Dixie Aug 6th, 2008 12:22 AM

Nahhh, it's a bootleg cream t-shirt with the album cover on the front.

Jim's mom used to hide his shirts under the house. We found a whole bunch there when we were packing his stuff up, all moth riddled and in terrible shape. :( He wasn't even allowed to have Iron Maiden shirts because his mom thought Eddie was evil.

Parents destroying things that sell for hundreds of dollars on ebay now make me sad.

MattJack Aug 9th, 2008 03:35 PM

So how did august 7th work out for you?

pics?

a/s/l?

Dixie Aug 9th, 2008 04:13 PM

It was AMAZING!!!

I got a few pictures, there will be more to come when the camera with the film is developed.
This is our "before" picture, but we were pretty trashed anyways:

I wore a different AC/DC shirt, the orange shirt is what we call an "idiot shirt".

Anyways, we got there too late to see Testament (luckily for me), they were playing their last 2 songs as we parked.
Got my beer (beer was $10 for a 24 oz cup) and found my way to the first row. Never before had I been so proud to present my pass to the Ticket Trolls.
We were sitting in the first row of seats, above the pit so we had a perfectly clear view of everything. I ran into a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in a very very long time while awaiting Motorhead.
Motorhead was awesome! They got gipped though, 35 measley minutes for them. They should have played alot more. At one point Lemmy was holding his bass up pointing through the audience and I was in the line of fire. I was screaming like a bitch. They made me so so so so so so so so happy.

Went to the bathroom between sets and about 15 feet from the women's bathroom entrance I hear a redneck scream "GODDAMN THOSE ARE SOME BIG TITS", I didn't think he was addressing me but when I was leaving the restroom he shouted the exact same thing again. This is why I wear big shapeless t-shirts most of the time.

After that suave cat-calling, which I politely ignored, I was accosted by a group of people showing me their underwear with AC/DC logos on it and thier socks with the same. Yay. I drank more.

Black Sabbath (I refuse to call them anything else) were everything I wished for. During Country Girl, Dio gave my gorgeous friend Rachel in the Ozzy tee the horns. We ladies were incredibly drunk and flipped out over that too. Dio is a god. I've seen him play before but he really shined with Sabbath. Iommi was even smiling!!!!

After thier set I went and hung out with a bunch of my old friends and talked about old times. People bought me drinks for my birthday all evening, I barely remember Priest.

What I remember of Priest was great, MUCH better than last time I saw them. I didn't bother to go take my seat til after they played the Nostradamus songs. But after they got those out their set was great! Angela and I were dancing like maniacs and later we found out we were on the Jumbotron. We left during their last song so we could get out of the parking lot a little easier, all the while dodging piles of puke and piss to get to the car.

At the hotel room we took some "after" pictures, but we don't have those yet. We drank a bunch more and just chilled out til 4 am.

It was a very very good night for me. I was sloshed, I got to see all my old friends from when I lived up there, I was hot rockin', and I had made eye contact with Lemmy.
My life is very good right now.

MattJack Aug 9th, 2008 04:23 PM

the grl in the ozzy shirt has braces, good way to keep it metal :rock

Motorhead is bad ass. I would have wanted to just see them (i'm not hxc ;_; ). 35 minutes???? Let's just hope Testament got 15 then.

And believe it or not, big t*ts get that kind of reaction from guys. Whether we say it out loud or mentally.

Tadao, you can thank me later for scoring pictures.

Tadao Aug 9th, 2008 04:26 PM

:yum

Dixie Aug 9th, 2008 04:29 PM

The chick in the braces rocks, she came with us to Greece last year. All three of us have been friends for a good long while. We're the metal heavy metal hen house of North Carolina.

I think Testament got like 25 minutes, but I wanted more Motorhead very badly.

I understand the reaction to boobs, but it normally isn't screamed over a crowd.

We'll see what the other pictures look like haha.
