Love these guys... Fuck You Guy Richie!
|
Best movie released in 2007 in my opinion.
|
I can't wait for Run Fatboy Run.

The plot really spoofed the hell out of those big-budget Hollywood films. And it spawned a nice random quote for our gaming club: "Fruit attack!"

You know, many people have been knifed by Santa, but none of them did it with such style!

Getting knifed by Santa: classic
Getting knifed by Peter Jackson dressed as Santa: Priceless. |
Classic movie. Freakin hilarious.
|
Love this movie! I hope the same team comes out with another one.
|
"Yarrp," I love this film!
Man, it's high time you reviewed it. And where can we submit recommendations, for stupid or awesome or stupid-awesome films? |
Loved this movie, even more than I loved Shaun of the Dead (it's a close call, but something about this one won me over the edge). It does take this movie a bit longer to really get things rolling, but it stays good in the end (as opposed to Shaun's slight lag towards the closing minutes).
The last scene with the human statue (especially his expression), that made me crack right up. |
Shaun of the Dead > Hot Fuzz > Run Fat Boy Run
|
I didn't like this as much as SotD, but it did have one of the best "popping heads" scenes I've seen since the exploding head in Scanners.
|
You knew it was going to be great right from the start, sealed in quality by Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes".
|
Yeah, I gotta agree that the last time you see the Human Statue is a real laugh-out-loud moment. And the shoot-out at the end is fucking classic.

One Word: Cornetto.
Love those guys. |
Bought it together with Shoot em' up. Enjoyed them both even more than Die Hard 4. Paul Giamatti and the dead woman in SEU, and the "pointy thing through Mr. Bond's chin" in HF were both great moments that kept us laughing for long time.

I just watched it for the first time this weekend. At first I thought they were setting up Dalton as a red herring and the actual killer was the mime so just Neighborhood watch guy could say I told you so at the end.
I admit I watched with confusion that last fight in the miniture town. What was the point of it if they weren't going to shoot it from a lower perspective in slo mo. I don't get it at all. |
I especially like the very beginning, where his sargeant called the Inspector into the office and Angel was told the EXACT same thing. Then they get the Chief Inspector on the phone and Angel hears it AGAIN. Plus the scene with his girlfriend, where he goes over to the wrong person. "I'm not Janine"
Classic. And I had to look her name up on Almighty Wiki... |
The none action parts of the movie right up till the end is basically telling us what actual police work is like. The point is kinda to bore us with normal police work until eventually they come out and say "FINE, YOU WANT A NONE REALISTIC COP FILM WITH NOTHING BUT ACTION? HERE YA GO!!! JEEZ!!"
I don't know. Maybe I'm just crazy. |
I think you are crazy because actual police work rarely involves dealing with a lot of accidents that eventually turn out to be murders, and hopefully it doesn't involve having to deal with surly coworkers doing all they can to hamstring your efforts.
But it does take place in England. Maybe that's how the bobbies operate. Also, I believe the purpose of the movie was to make people laugh, rather than demonstrate the mundane life of a real police officer. |
