That is actually kinda neat. I thought this thread was about the 90´s techno band.

i just started using this a couple of months ago, mostly at work. i like being able to put in a lot of way different bands/artists/songs/genres and playing the "quick mix." it's pretty cool, and i've heard a lot of musicians i never had before.

Grislygus Jan 19th, 2007 09:43 AM

Yeah, this is pretty much the only reason I stay sane at the paper.

DehydratedPorkMan Jan 19th, 2007 10:28 AM

Oh man, I used to use this site to find more bands that sounded like the indie shit I listen to and I forgot it existed. Thanks for reminding me of it.

There are some problems though. I typed in Broken Social Scene and it took me to Beck, then to Michael Jackson. I'm not making this up.

FartinMowler Jan 19th, 2007 11:12 AM

very very very very cool.

That's because computer programs don't have ears. Some bands and genres get better results than others.

Metal and rock stations generally work well, but you have to work to keep them clean.

MetalMilitia Jan 19th, 2007 12:48 PM

Yeah I use this when I'm working. It's good.

FartinMowler Jan 19th, 2007 01:08 PM

I didn't get that when I put in Broken Social Scene :rolleyes

I've been getting e-mails saying that it's been getting updated. I discovered the site a couple months into its birth so of course there was problems. I just wanted to state. It did get me some cool bands for 311, though. Even though I knew all of them...and Lifehouse...(ugh)

sadie Jan 20th, 2007 10:30 PM

the cool thing is that you can give a thumbs down to a song and it adjusts your station or whatever.

liquidstatik Jan 21st, 2007 12:29 AM

Uh, I can't find any good music on this.

Grislygus Jan 21st, 2007 12:39 AM

I usually have to thumbs-down my stations a lot before stuff I like starts showing up, my Deep Purple station being an exception.

executioneer Jan 21st, 2007 12:42 AM

i'm going to be upset @ this site until i can get a warlock pinchers radio station :lol

GADZOOKS Jan 21st, 2007 02:26 AM

Hey Porkman why don't you search for "garbage for teenagers" and maybe you will get what you what.

Dire Flamingo Jan 21st, 2007 03:24 AM

I like this a lot. :)

executioneer Jan 21st, 2007 03:29 AM

fun thing to do: put two entirely unrelated bands on the same station!

edit: nevermind, that's not that fun after all!
