I'm not dismissing this, but I'd like to wait and see how this gets picked up by the rest of the media before I take it serious.

I.E. I want to see what NPR and CNN says since they are the only crediable news sources to ever exist on the planet.

Don't be a tool, Vince. With the media so close on the action, bullshit stories tend to slip into the open before they can be properly looked into. This is no different than the original story about the Scuds which turned out to be Frogs, or the chemical weapons plant that wasn't really a chemical weapons plant at all.
