The D&D Thread
We can talk about D&D here. ;)
|
Well I would say the gaming forum, but that's primarily for video games, so yeah I guess this would be the best place for any D&D fans to talk... while the rest of us point and laugh.
|
You should make a Super Geek Board. >:
|
Dice-loving analytical rules lawyer geeks play D&D. Carefree, humorous geeks play Paranoia.
|
I used my wand of STFU +2 on Perndog but his cursed cloak of virginity (will +5) gave him a save vs. pummeling. >: :( >:
|
I don't understand D&D :(
|
HEY YOU FAG FACES
QUIT BEING SUCH GAYS OKAY YOUR FRIEND, WILLIE M -willie |
WHAT'S YOUR ARMOR CLASS, BITCH?
|
C:\ didn't read the rule book right, his pummeling attempt failed because he's only a level 2 Nerd Warrior and all Nerds get -6 to physical attacks and +3 to losing.
|
You must be looking at those gay third party add-ons because there's no Nerd Warrior prestige class. >:
|
executioneer
Your jeers take on a strange form I can't quite place it Dungeons and Dragons I used to love that cartoon Better than the game |
What's a prestige class? All my AD&D books are First Edition. And the Nerd Warrior class is one of my own creations, for a campaign I ran called "Quest Through Rejectville" - to accurately capture the setting, we lured a couple of real nerds to my lair with cartons of Chinese food and forced them on pain of swirly to roleplay the evil but pathetically weak leaders of the Nerd army.
|
Why play D&D, when you can play CoC....
Way better. All the jokes about CoC=cock have already been done... They atill make Parinoia? I thought that crap went the way of Boot Hill, & Gamma World... Bow to me, I am your Alpha Nerd... I have PC's older then most of you... And I'm pround to say I have never played Spell Jammer... or any other Card based game. Canadian Monkey... You will spread the word that the Alpha Nerd has risen... |
I HAVE A QUESTION
WHY IN BAULDERS GATE IS IT GOOD TO HAVE A REALLY LOW NUMBER FOR YOUR AC (MINE WAS -7) BUT IN KIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC ITS GOOD TO HAVE A HIGH NUMBER (MINE IS CURRENTLY 32) I THOUGHT THEY BOTH USED THE SAME RULES WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY ??????????? |

Because people are too retarded to calculate THAC0. Including me.
Does knights of the old republic really use D&D rules? Was that even a serious question? >: |
KotOR uses D20 rules, BG uses Ad&d 2ED. rules, To Hit Armor Class Zero i.e. THAC0, no longer exisits... In 2ED. having a 0 was good, in D20 rules having a 20 is good...
Bow to me, I am your Alpha Nerd... Bruce R. Cordell can suck my dick... I once wrote an artical for Dragon Magizine, they told me it was ok. shortly after WOTC bought TSR. Durring this stransition Dragon Magizine wasn't printed, I know you think the next thing I'm going to say is when it did come out my artical was published... no, but it did end up in 3ed. Psionics handbook... pg. 112-113. |
You mentioned Paranoia up there...yes, the latest edition came and went a long, long time ago, but people still play it, and the online community (a hundred people maybe?) is out looking for new members. And we just had a chat with the guy who came up with the concept, he still owns the rights to the game and he's looking for a publisher for a new edition. :)
|
Congratulations, Danno! You got a paragraph in the Super Crap Handbook. >:
|
a page and a half in the most worthless super crap hand book, it was origannaly about a sub culture of the Githzerai, but it got turned into a presige class, sevral time in the dsecription they use direct quotes of mine... I fucking hate WOTC...
Long kive steve jackson... |
Do you remember the game Darksun:Shattered Lands? I think you could play as a psionist in that game. I always went with 3 half giant fighters and a human mage though. WOW ISNT THAT INTERESTING
|
Shattered Lands kicked ass, and the sequel (Wake of the Ravager) was even better.
Is someone going to explain to me what a prestige class is or do I have to go threaten a nerd in real life? |
A pretige class is a class that you can acquire levels in, but must meet the prerequisites in your base class(es) first (usually stuff like must be at least level 5, 3 points in Listen, etc.)
Some require you to have done certain things, like gain the respect of a particular order (this is particularly true for fighter pretige classes, which usually mean you become a Knight of Whatever). Others are based on race and your base classes. |
