Metal Gear Solid 4

I just beat it!

I didn't really like the ending, but probably just because I was very, very tired of watching cutscenes and just really really wanted to take a shower.

I had this song playing on my iPod throughout the entire game, and it just made me love it even more.

EisigerBiskuit Jul 4th, 2008 03:24 AM

BreakIn City should have been on there.

liquidstatik Jul 4th, 2008 04:11 AM

I like that song :o

MetalMilitia Jul 4th, 2008 10:39 AM

That sounds like a really shitty Eurovision entry from, like, Croatia or somewhere.

Fathom Zero Jul 31st, 2008 04:14 PM

I have nothing but criticism for this game.

bigtimecow Jul 31st, 2008 04:28 PM

this game is wonderful, although, even as a fan of the series i get way too anxious during cut scenes. everything is just a bit too slow for me

Fathom Zero Jul 31st, 2008 04:46 PM

Watching people talk during the cutscenes was off-putting, the mouth movements scare the shit out of me.

I can go through most of the game just killing EVERYBODY.

I can go on, but I've gotta go to work. I'll voice my other insignificant frustrations later.

bigtimecow Aug 11th, 2008 11:48 AM

just finished this game, and i loved it, but the weapons system seems way too intricate than necessary, and the
Spoilers!

oh, and the beauty and the beast boss fights were lame as fuck compared to mgs1 boss battles. they were all just
Spoilers!

speaking of mgs1, did anyone else notice that
Spoilers!

i have to get back to work :x

Fathom Zero Aug 11th, 2008 11:52 AM

Yeah, you can't have more than one spoiler per post. It spazzes out.

It works, but you have to number them, I fixed it in the quote.

Fathom Zero Aug 11th, 2008 02:55 PM

The Laughing Octopus fight was sad. I didn't get to play much more than after Snake trails resistence dudes around, but I hope the rest of the boss fights don't suck as bad.

bigtimecow Aug 11th, 2008 08:02 PM

i'll edit that post and fix it, woops :x

octopus' boss fight is the only one i really enjoyed; raven's is alright, wolf's sucks, and mantis' sucks :(

ScruU2wice Aug 12th, 2008 10:50 PM

I haven't finished the whole game yet but, octopus fight was weak as hell. It took me a whole 5 minutes to beat the pants of this broad, and it took about 14 minutes for her to slime around in the ectoplasm when she lost her arms.

that and tracking the resistance dude took so long and was annoying as fuck.

edit: I also do not like every magical thing that happens in the story as being written off as nano machines at work.

bigtimecow Aug 13th, 2008 08:59 AM

it's at least a somewhat plausible explanation for them

because of
Spoilers!

ScruU2wice Aug 14th, 2008 11:19 PM

I am not down with stealth camo getting harder and harder to get in each of the sequels. Some of the most fun in mgs1 was beating the game to get a stealth suit and attaching a c4 on a patrol guard. I don't appreciate having to shoot frogs or not sound alerts or get dog tags or some shit like that

Spoilers!

MGS4 was very good but I don't know... I think I'm getting tired of playing MGS games. Good timing I guess..

epyon9969 Aug 19th, 2008 12:58 PM

this is the first of the series I actually sat down and played through, I thought it was slow but good
