|
The present I ordered isnt here yet. :( Hopefully it will be tomorrow morning for a quick turn around by the deadline.
|
I have sent the package. Awesomeness imminent.
|
Package received from Batman Johnson and it's awesome! Will post photos as soon as I have a chance!
|
Oh, man. I got something to day. Careful, this is gonna be a long one!
I woke up this afternoon and found that I had a package waiting for me on the porch. Being the curious rascal that I am I immediately tore into it: Oh man! Oranges! I love Oranges! Waaaait a minute. This isn't a box of fruit. What do we have here? It looks like someone wants to play a game. Let's dig a little deeper. Oh! It's my secret Santa gift! It doesn't say who it's from though. Might as well open ALL OF THE GIFTS RIGHT N- Oh, wait. Maybe we should follow the instructions instead. Here is present 1, just like the letter said. Oh jeez, look at all this awesome candy. Christmas Gum tape, suckers, and Peppermint dark chocolate. This has been the best Christmas yet! Wait what's that? There's more? Better open the next present. Ah! It's Domo-kun! And something else! "DOMO-KUN IS FREE! DOMO-KUN RULE ALL!" "THIS DOMO-KUN CHRISTMAS NOW!!!" "DOMO-KUN LOVE STICKERS! STICKERS GREAT!" "ESPECIALLY ABOBO STICKER FROM 1989!!!" Wow, that sticker is as old as I am. Next letter! I have no idea how the next gift can one up this one. Domo-Kun is pretty amazing! Get ready? Ready for what exactly? Let's find out. "RAAAGH! GBA! GBA!" Woah! A Gameboy Advance! Awesome! With a copy of Jackie Chan Adventures as well. (Which is a nice little beat 'em up and one of the first GBA games I ever played.) But there are still more letters, and more presents. This guy is being way too generous here. Keep on truckin' on to the next gift! MORE GAMEBOY GAMES! "DOMO-KUN PLAY FOREVER!!!" Time for the next letter. Indeed you are awesome, mysterious gift giver! Rampage pleases Domo-kun! Let's rip the last present open! Oh wow, some Lego mini-figures and a Pokemon toy. Awesome! I love lego mini-figures! "RAAAGH! DEAD BODIES!!" Let's put them back together, Domo-kun! Ah, the first mini-figure is William Shakespeare! "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath bore me on his back a thousand times, and now how abhorr'd in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it." "DOMO-KUN LOOOOOVE BEATNIKS!" The second mini-fig is the dreaded BLACK KNIGHT! And of course here's Baoppu!... Oh, uh. I mean there goes Baoppu And here is the last letter... Let's see what it says. Oh! It was Blood_Panther all along! Thank you so much, Blood_Panther! This has to be one of the best Christmas presents ever! "BYE-BYE!!!" edit: My cat helped me open all these wonderful presents. Thanks again, Blood_Panther! |
Wow. That was Rog caliber there. I thought for sure that was from him.
|
Wow, that's one insane haul you got there, Nick!
Nice job, Blood Panther! :xmas1 Oh, and all gifts have been received, pictures coming very soon. :xmas3 |
glad you enjoyed it! and at the risk of taking some of my awesomeness away, I work at a used game store, employee discounts rule! I laughed at your comment at the abobo sticker. I made the exact same comment myself!

Merry Christmas, guys!:xmas3 |
Nick is my Secret Santa this year! And sent me this package.
The note informed me that this was but one gift of 4 that would be arriving in the coming days and to wait until all were received before opening them. And let me tell you, it's torture to wait when there's nothing but sheer willpower keeping you from tearing open each gift the moment it arrives. But wait I did. So now that I have the rest, let's open them up and take a look! And the first one is the "Ultimate Book of Bizarre Lists"! And to give you guys a sample I will now read you three random facts from this awesome book. "The Romans not only had guard dogs, they, like many of us, had 'Beware of Dog!' signs attached to their walls. In Latin. This reads Cave Canem." "Assassin Spiders are found in Madagascar and parts of Africa and Australia, these bizarre predators have long necks designed to support the weight of their enormous jaws, and they feed almost exclusively on other spiders, hence their name. They're also completely harmless to humans" "Only in Japan would a toy like this be developed. This toy is a bag filled with an anatomically correct woman who had been chopped into pieces. She comes complete with blood oozing out of her wounds and blood splatters on her face." Not bad huh? But on to the other gifts! Two Super Mario candy tins! In this case a Super Mushroom and a Question Block. It's difficult to see in the photo, but the Question Block actually does have Super Mario coins inside it. Now if only I had a macro lens to show you guys. Oh, there you go. :xmas1 And last but not least, we have a tin robot that's "NOT A TOY" and is "FOR ADULT COLLECTORS ONLY". While I'm certainly far more likely to swallow a small part, or stab myself with a sharp point than any child I know, I do technically qualify as an adult. So let's open it up! Wow! He's an awesome wind-up tin robot! Look at all of the details in him. Here's a side view so you can see that he actually moves his arms. So cool. Ah, look at him. So excited! I don't have the heart to tell the poor little fellow that he'd only be able to rule us for a couple weeks. The Mayans are coming and are going to make Superman fly around the world backwards in an attempt to go back to 1985 so he can try New Coke. Or something like that. Now, are you ready to see him in action? Rule us with a tiny tin fist, little dude! Big thanks to Nick for all of the awesome things! Merry Christmas, everyone! :xmas3 |
"...the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day."
Great stuff guys. |
Oh man, I'm so glad you liked all of that stuff, Dextire. I had to think for a moment what I could send you that hit all your little likes. I'm glad it worked out for the best. I could help but pick up a copy of that book for myself as well.
I also didn't know that little guy moved around I thought he was only for decoration! That's so neat! |
Cool xmas loot! I love Domo Kun! :D My SS should get their stuff on Monday. :D

I think blood_panther may be taking home the crown as best gift-giver this year. On top of some fantastic gifts ( :domo ) he also included candy. Props there.
Dextire, you had a pretty awesome haul too. And nice use of a macro lens :posh The final picture of the robot would make a wonderful Chrimmas card. Well, today's the deadline for sending so I hope you all have been compliant or you'll end up with coal! :xmas3 |

you're not using this info to stalk me are you? |

Which worked out well because it had candy. :) I received a nice stocking full of candy. For starters, there was Martin and Candy in Planes, Trains, and automobiles on bluray! Bam! Followed by some carmel coco and some chocolate. There was more chocolate but it didnt make it home for the pictures. :yum Much like this bag of green apple cotton candy. :yum :yum :you Really good stuff. Also included was this nifty Griswold Family ornament. There was also a nice card but it was a bit glossy and I couldnt get a good pic of it. Thank you Replicant! I loved the cottan candy and cant wait to watch the movie. :rock |
@ Ex Leper: The "Suction Cup Monster" is really Leech from the Masters of the Universe line. I always thought his action feature of "sucking" was pretty damn funny. I can imagine what his interview with Hordak was like.
Hordak: "So... you want to be my henchman? Tell me a little bit about yourself." Leech: "Hi, I'm Leech... and I suck." Hordak: "You're hired!" As to the Frankenstein, it's an old Imperial toy from the very early 80's. They're the same folks who made all those really cool Godzilla figures to terrorize practically every flea market and yard sale. Glad you really dig everything. I tried to do a mix of old and new stuff, just as your tastes described. Thanks! |
You did good!

This has been a great year so far!
|
Haha! I was wondering if your stuff would get there early! I wasn't sure what to get you but I gambled well. Plus, I think you can't go wrong with Lindt. I hate white chocolate typically but they do it right and I can't resist. Liquid crack!
I don't know who got me but I am excited to see what comes. :) |
so lets make a quick list here shall we?

Alrighty! So I received a package in the mail the other day and it turns out Batman Johnson is my 2012 Secret Santa! Let's take a look inside...
A plethora of presents AND a reference to what was probably the all-time worst Secret Santa package I ever received? I'm already liking where this is headed and I haven't even seen my first gift yet. Kapow! Two fantastic comic books - issue #1 of "Monster in my Pocket" and "A Marvel Weirdness: Bizarre Adventures", the later of which has one of the best covers I've ever seen. That's a seriously frame-worthy image if I've ever seen one! Oh yeah, I'm definitely sold on this comic. It even has Howard the Duck in it too. Score! A stocking full o' surprises? Let's see what's in this bad boy... Holy crap, that's a lot o' randomness! First off, we have a bunch of Little Debbie Christmas Tree cakes. Sure, most of 'em got pretty mashed up, but I'm sure they'll look a whole lot worse inside my stomach where they'll be residing in the very near future. There are also some holiday themed Gobstoppers and Gingerbread Peeps to devour. Looking forward to trying those out along with the other candy cane Peeps I bought last week. There's a bendy skeleton, and you can never have to many of those. There are two old gags - a Liquid Gelling prank and an Exploding Pen (somebody went shopping at Foy's!). There's a pack o' Mars Attacks trading cards, which is definitely cool, cuz I recently got the Mars Attacks book from Topps that features the artwork from all the old Mars Attacks sets. There are four mystery eggs too, so let's see what's inside 'em: Okay, a few novelty temporary tattoos for the holidays and some snowflake(?) rings. Works for me. I was really hoping I'd get Luigi in that blind bag, and sure enough I did. He was always my favorite character to play in Super Mario Bros. 2, so color me happy. Last but not least, I had one big gift wrapped in a separate package: An "amazing" magic monkey! I've never had one of these creepy little guys, and they always make me think of Monkey Shines. He'll certainly make a welcome addition to my collection of knickknacks... but he also requested to appear in a video with me, so here ya go: [Watch in higher resolution here!] Thanks again, Batman Johnson! :xmas3 :xmas1 |
Haha, fantastic! :xmas1
|
Great haul, Rog! I'm sure you're crying inside over missing out on more Hello Kitty fruit snacks and floam.
You shoulda let the monkey play the guitar instead, though. |
Euphorixlost and I sent out our packages yesterday, so they should be arriving soon. I sent one part of mine myself, and ordered one part to send to my victim directly, so they probably won't arrive together.
Also, Rog, did you have to stick your finger up the monkey's bum to get him to stop drumming? |
Quote:
|
You're welcome. I'm glad you liked the monkey, I was gambling on whether it was more awesome or more creepy. I think it's right in the middle. Foys had two rows of them and it immediately made me think of Monkey shines.
|
That monkey is awesome - every time I see those things, I think of The Monkey short story by Stephen King XD
|
Just got my package today and my Secret Santa was Dimnos! Pictures will be posted as soon as I can get my hands on one of my roommates' cameras, but HOLY SHIT you went overboard, dude! Seriously WAY above and beyond the call of duty! Truly, truly awesome on every level! WOW.
THANK YOU, sir! THANK YOU, INDEED! |
Package received. I'll make a video soon.
|
My secret Santa gift came in(kind of....reference above above protoclown post)
My secret Santa gift was from
More to come but this woke Sophia up. Which at the very least is a really funny story. Disclaimer: I really like the above mentioned gift hereto I do not need to get clownpackaged in the stall. Amen :xmas3 |
Awesome! That arrived super fast! With any luck the other portion will arrive later this week! And I'd love to see a video of the Mr. T in action. Well, I already played with it (YES, I TOUCHED ALL YOUR BUTTONS), but for the benefit of the others, a video would be cool!
|
Very nice 2 gifts: part 1, 10k! I would also like to see a video with each of the sayings as those things are crazy expensive for a sound bite keychain and I've been curious about the sound quality.

YAAAAYY!! I'm so glad you liked everything, Chris! Tell your wife I'm sorry about the lack of chocolate, haha. Thanks for the video - it was very entertaining (:

A fine haul with awesome wrapping paper no less, and I dig the background music too. Now go buy her some chocolate!
|
Looks like ups attempted to deliver what I assume is my Secret Santa present. At least I think, I don't remember ordering anything. Now to work out when I can get my stuff with UPS
*edit* Apparently the ups facility is down the street from where I work so I'll pick it up on lunch tomorrow. |
Okay, finally got pics of the awesome gift that Dimnos sent me, which was the mammoth 568 page Avengers Vs. X-Men hardcover! I've not yet read this mini-series, since I wait for the trade collections of most comics these days, so this was a very welcome gift, and most generous indeed!
This thing's got some real heft to it. You could seriously kill a baby with this thing. Also included was this note: Okay, so I guess it's kind of silly to take too many multiple pics of a book, but I wanted to at least get a shot of me appreciating it in there. Thank you, Dimnos! I couldn't be more stoked to have gotten this! You have made this comic book geek very happy indeed! I can't wait to dig into this soon!! |
I just want to know why Wolverine isn't on the X-Men side.
|
Very cool! So I guess Red Hulk is a good guy now?
|
BECAUSE WOLVERINE IS AN ASSHOLE
|
An overexposed asshole. I'm still mad at Marvel for killing off Nightcrawler.
Also for the 90's. |
They killed off Nightcrawler? Those fuckers! I didn't even know. So you can see how closely I've been paying attention. And there was ONE good thing to have come out of Marvel in the 90: Age of Apocalypse. That was pretty much it.
Oh, and Dextire, I don't know what's up with Red Hulk. I stopped reading Hulk after World War Hulk so I don't know what's up with all those rainbow Hulks anyway. |
ChrisGlass I wanted to say I really enjoyed your video. I also liked how Feliz Navidad seemed to cut you off like they do for Oscar-winning speeches.

So where does our trading list stand at the moment?
|
Another Successful Secret Santa!!
This here is my pile of gifts from my santa, ChrisGlass. I also decided to try and make a video of the whole thing, but it didn't turn out as well as I want and I sound like I'm being sarcastic and unappreciative. But I really do like my gifts, I promise!!! Also I talk with my hands. :lol e: I should also mention the candy canes are obviously not just the usual mint and they are delicious and most of them have been consumed already. |

I shipped mine the friday after receiving my address, pretty nervous now.
|
I don't own a single X-Men comic or graphic novel. I know a bare minimum about the series. However, I did use to watch the 90s X-Men cartoon and I was fond of Nightcrawler. That's a shame.
|
Wow. That shipped pretty darn tootin' fast to Canada.
Glad you got the Canadian Moose joke. And I found it cute you thought the bag of bricks was Smarties. The CANADIAN Smarties. Not the American chalk-filled ones. There should be two eyeballs. They're NOT edible. Rather they're like sticky hands. Throw them at the wall and they'll stay there. |
Great job on the video, MarioRPG. I love that you have the fake fireplace right next to the real one. :lol
And quite a nice haul of Christmas goodies as well. :xmas2 Oh, and Ramune soda is awesome. It actually has a marble inside that the bubbles fizz around when you open it. |

My secret santa this year was Dr Boogie.
First thing I saw when I opend the box, a letter from Dr Boogie, and a Snap apart snow man... Yes I like my snowmen, like I like batmans back easy to snap. Never in my life have I wished that I had a classic Bane action figure until I got this snow man. I would have made it break the snow man. Next up two candy cane shaped tubes filled with candy. Notably Delicious Reeses Pieces, and Hershey candy coated chocolate I got currency!!! Chocolate coins. I'm sure they spend somewhere right? Oh man Jingles are one of my favorite holiday variations on Candy. Something about the bell shape changes how awesome the candy is Candy cane flavored peeps dipped in chocolate! I haven't tried them yet but I assume they are amazing And probably the best or maybe my favorite portion. Tucker and Dale vs Evil. and an eight pack collection of horror movies. I've seen Tucker and Dale vs Evil, but somehow have managed to not buy it. The collection of movies is awesome it has some bad horror movies. But those are my favorite kind of horror movies. Thank you Dr Boogie! |
Great haul, BatmanJohnson!
|
Very nice haul indeed. Waxwork is pretty good - you should like that!
|
I like that dvd with multiple horror flicks. Chud II, Slaughter High, Chopping Mall, etc they're all great.
|
That DVD is the first release of most of those films outside of VHS too.
|
That Thanos gift is hilarious. Good work, whoever did that.

Go
Got my second gift from protoclown. This is awesome as shit. Thank you :) My earlier :lol did not go through for the thanks pillow. Thats super funny. I'm sure there will be another gift. |
I love Waxwork. I've heard mixed things on C.H.U.D 2, but never seen it for myself. I have seen Ghoulies 2 and I approve. I've heard of the rest of the movies with the collection but haven't seen them, though that will soon be remedied.
Also Munchkin Axe Cop is amazing. Well Axe cop anything is amazing. |
I told Dr. Boogie he has to show me where he got that DVD, cuz I've been looking for that set so I can finally have a copy of C.H.U.D. II. Great collection!
|
Bloodpanther: Glad to hear the package arrived (hopefully) safe and sound! I bubble-wrapped the crap out of it, but you never know.
I have that exact same collection, BatmanJohnson! It was the only way I could find Ghoulies 3. You are quite the fortunate gift receiver, sir. :xmas1 |
And grateful I most certainly am.

I got a mystery package with a mystery note for Christmas.
After much frustration, I finally solved it! Even at first glance I am extremely stoked with what Ex Leper got me! Thank you so much! I do not own any of these already but I am so happy about the book! I'm not surprised that I have seen most of the movies they write about haha. Mr Bungle who I've heard of and am keen to check out, and a Ween CD that has the one Ween song on it that I know from years ago when I heard it on an indie radio station (Waving My Dick In The Wind) Some killer pins and magnets that are going to make my bag and fridge look extra awesome. A terrifying Bio-Hazard mask complete with green toxic looking edges! And last but not least, a tattoo sleeve with some wicked cool koi fish on them, that is a little too small for my manly arm haha. Thanks again bud! I cleaned up! |

A WILD PACKAGE APPEARS!
& seeing that the only other things I'm waiting for are hair dye or candy canes, I figured this had to be my Secret Santa package! YAY (either that, or the amount I paid for shipping for the hair dye actually WAS a bargain....) Someone down there likes me, as I got Rog as my Secret Santa XD (& I'm not talking about in hell - I'm in Canada, so most of you people live south of me) I didn't even wait 10 minutes before tearing into this, like a fat kid with a box of turtles. & by fat kid, I mean me. & by box of turtles, I mean box of turtles. I either got an unpublished novel, or some crazy person's manifesto. Maybe both. But the sweet words are for MY EYES ONLY! ... after reading the letter, I have learned that if I don't comply & show myself using everything in the box, my bank account information will be released to the world (meh), & I will have my forum name changed to 'Paris Hilton's #1 Fan' DEAR GOD NOOOOOOOO!!!! After all, what's Christmas without any threats of humiliation? So, let's get this party started!!! Domo seems to know how to party (he IS a superior lover after all, according to his button) I'll be putting these lights up later tonight when my fiance gets home from work. & in a year & a half when we leave this apartment & are living in our awesome campervan, they'll be coming with us (I'm actually being serious here, they are going to look AWESOME in our van! I'd put them up in there now, but I'm worried about the cold making them brittle. But just look at how awesomely retro this van is! Domo is going to turn it into such a happenin' place!) Here's an overview of what I have to work with: A sweet reusable bag with lions on one side & HOLY SHIT DINOSAURS on the other (I actually didn't realize there were dinosaurs on the other side - I'm used to reusable bags having the same picture on both sides :P) Multi-coloured slime Domo party lights & a Mars Attack figure with a computer game Awesome I Mockery merchandise! Postcards, t-shirt, pixel poster, shiny stickers, & a 'Tickle My Pickle' button (that, because I'm female, I'm reading something disturbing into ;D) Edibles! Hallowe'en Kit Kat, candy buttons, laffy taffy, eggnog tea, a hatching dinosaur egg, & wacky packages stickers & gum I'm going to have a fun time trying to play that Mars Attack game - my laptop doesn't even have a freaking CD drive, I have no idea where I'm going to find a floppy drive :P (& DAT SYSTEM REQUIREMENT! OMG! {Windows 3.1 & 2 megs of ram}) I'll be using that reusable bag everytime I do groceries. Each time, it'll save me 3 cents because of the store I go to. It's the gift that keeps on giving! :D My fiance grabbed up the 'tickle my pickle' button, because he had a great idea for it.... well, great according to him... (I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm really not. ENJOY THE VISUALS!!!!) I also let him have one of the shiny stickers for his shiny Yu-Gi-Oh binder, & I stuck the other one on PhishPoop (my laptop) Next, I had to get into the foodstuffs. Despite the warning on the side of the package AND the fact that Rog mentioned not swallowing the egg, I figured that meant I should swallow it. Down the hatch My new shirt seems to be very appropriate for this situation It got stuck in my throat, so I guess I'll have to wait a few days until it dissolves. I'll take some more pictures once it hatches & tears it's way out of my throat. Since I needed something to wash that egg down, I HAD to try this tea (& not just because I was threatened with total humiliation if I didn't). I have this thing about eggnog flavoured stuff. I'm one of the few people who remembers eggnog flavoured candy canes. You remember me mentioning waiting for candy canes in the mail? Yeah, I spent $16 to buy some stupid gourmet eggnog flavoured candy canes recently. But we're not talking about that, we're talking about this tea It's delicious! It actually tastes like eggnog & tea (which go together much better than I would have thought). I had high expectations from Bigelow, & once again they didn't let me down :D I also opened the stickers, but they weren't very tasty The gum wasn't bad though, but what's with wrapping it in plastic??? It didn't have that wonderful cardboard flavour that I remember from my childhood. So, expect some more pictures from me once I manage to incubate the dinosaur in my throat long enough for it to hatch. Like most women, I'm willing to sacrifice my body for the good of our species (although unlike most women, I think our species sucks & would love to see it get torn to shreds by dinosaurs) |
