"Beautiful songs"

You know. The songs that make you want to cry because of it's beauty or they inspire you.

Imagine by John Lennon and Straight To Hell by The Clash are some powerful songs.

"A Sorta Fairytale" by Tori Amos makes me cry like a little girl it's so purdy :(

The One and Only... Jul 11th, 2003 07:20 PM

Any song by Amish Oatmeal. Beautiful for it's overwhelming stupidity.

crash0814 Jul 11th, 2003 08:26 PM

"Hey" by the Pixies. God that guitar solo is so fucking beautiful.

Ninjavenom Jul 12th, 2003 05:23 AM

The Hope Conspiracy - Treason

A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras, Thomas

Deftones - Feiticeria, Around the Fur, Digital Bath

and this damn Soilwork song, Distortion Sleep. I don't listen to enough sad bastard music. :/

Skulhedface Jul 12th, 2003 05:26 AM

I'm gonna go with A Perfect Circle- 3 Libras on this one.

pjalne Jul 12th, 2003 05:29 AM

Famous Blue Raincoat by Leonard Cohen. Also, the Amos cover.

Actually, most of Cohen's early work.

I'm going to have to try and find that Perfect Circle song now.

"Sam Stone" by John Prine

An old ballad from a folk legend. I find it sadly beautiful in terms of lyrical content.

"Time" by Tom Waits :(

kahljorn Jul 12th, 2003 09:04 PM

Royal Tenenbaum Jul 12th, 2003 10:14 PM

Air's 'Moon Safari.' The Byrd's "Hickory Wind." the Beatles' "Two of Us." Leonard Cohen's "Master Song." Loose Fur's (Jeff Tweedy of Wilco) "Chinese Apple."

SLjimbo Jul 13th, 2003 03:08 AM

Tool's Pushit and Bassic's On The Horizon

crash0814 Jul 13th, 2003 06:29 AM

"Lucky" by Radiohead.

MrAdventure Jul 13th, 2003 07:02 AM

Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" are the first two that come to mind, though they have a few more. :(

Scorpion's "Winds of Change" and Puckett's "Young Girl" come to mind, but they're painfully overplayed in these parts. :/

I've got a lot of these songs 'cause I'm a fucking puss.

Lobo's "Me & You & A Dog Named Boo" gets to me. :eek

America's Unicorn musics. :love :( 8)

Anything by Ephel Duath is probably beautiful.

OK, I also say quite a few songs by Devin Townsend are beautiful.

Royal Tenenbaum Jul 13th, 2003 11:40 AM

"These Days" by Nico is the most beautiful song ever.

Ninjavenom Jul 13th, 2003 10:26 PM

I seem to be digging Aeris' theme as of late, also.

You stole my answer you sum'bitch!

Hmm, let's see... I like Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da by the Beatles... it's a throw back to Life Goes on (the show with Cork (my hero, RIP))

Another one would probably be Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry. It's got funk, George Clinton funk.

Biff Kilowatt Jul 14th, 2003 06:43 PM

Even though he's alive, he is still very much dead to me. That show made him what he was, and he just let it slip away. What a bastard.

Schimid Jul 14th, 2003 10:56 PM

I know it's a nerdy thing to say, but in Final Fantasy 7, Red XIII's theme. I think it's called "Valley Of The Falling Star"

That or "Piano Man" by Billy Joel

The_voice_of_reason Jul 14th, 2003 11:03 PM

Three Libras yes, Hallelujah by Rufus Wainright, Perfect Day by Lou Reed, and Gary Jules cover of Mad World from the Donnie Darko sound track.
