Zorro. Catherine Z-J just got nekkid.

10,000 Volt Ghost Jan 27th, 2009 05:28 PM

Watched "The Human Tornado" the other day, :meat. Dolemite is the man.

brokensaint82 Jan 27th, 2009 06:12 PM

just caught Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back the other day on showmax...brougth back soem memories...some good...mostly bad but still memories

MetalMilitia Jan 27th, 2009 07:47 PM

Let the right one in - Pretty cool film. In fact one of the better vampire films I've seen.

Defiance - Kind of meh. I don't even remember how it ended.

TheBigMan045 Jan 28th, 2009 09:16 PM

Last movie i watched was The Warriors, classic movie done cheaply but it doesnt detract from the movie. I've wanted to see it for ages and got the chance to hire it out and watch it, the basic idea behind the movie may seem simple but the director makes it work so well

Yeah jo8136 calling a truce with Tadao is like trying to convince the World that Hitler never existed, it just wont work

Also for not seeing the edit button to stop fucking double and triple posting

jo8136 Jan 28th, 2009 09:24 PM

Thanks for the memo BigMan. I just hope I dont get banned

Sacks Jan 28th, 2009 11:09 PM

I hope I get the memo about you being banned.

Zomboid Jan 28th, 2009 11:24 PM

If I wasn't so sure that mockery would come in here and give us all shit, I'd be reporting all of that guy's posts >:

TheBigMan045 Jan 28th, 2009 11:34 PM

Just trying to bring it back on topic here but another movie i watched recently was Bullitt, best described as an average movie with a wicked car chase scene. A bit hard to follow in places but the car chase through San Fran is cool

executioneer Jan 29th, 2009 12:23 AM

guys i've move some of the posts in htis thread to http://www.i-mockery.com/forum/showt...php?t=69701545 so if you wanna keep playing slapfight take it there ok

WhiteRat Jan 31st, 2009 11:14 AM

Pineapple Express

A little disappointing but it was great for some cheap laughs.

Kitsa Jan 31st, 2009 07:34 PM

I watched part of "Ice Spiders" on sci-fi but it was so damn stupid I had to stop.

Tadao Jan 31st, 2009 07:41 PM

That comes on in 2 hours! Awesome!

10,000 Volt Ghost Jan 31st, 2009 07:59 PM

That sounds terrible

Kitsa Jan 31st, 2009 08:13 PM

CGI done by 4th graders, it looks like.

4th graders might be a bit generous.

And the WORST acting I ever did see.

toolz88 Feb 4th, 2009 09:05 PM

here, here for Ice spiders that movie was terrible but the most recent movie i've seen was Hellraiser:Deader it was on sci-fi last night that was a rancid movie to be sure of

MetalMilitia Feb 7th, 2009 07:52 AM

Revolutionary Road - Not bad. Kind of reminds me of Mad Men but that's probably just because of its setting. DiCaprio and Winslet are really quite good actors and this saves the film. Had two lesser actors been in the lead roles I could see it being rather crap because to be honest the story isn't THAT interesting by itself.
It also occurred to me that it'd be hilarious if this was the sequel to Titanic.

The Reader - Kate Winslet again, this time playing an illiterate Nazi war criminal that seduces a 15 year old boy and learns to read... so yeah it's kind of an odd story but it works. Much better than Revolutionary Road and actually quite upsetting at the end.

Sam Feb 7th, 2009 01:36 PM

That sounds sexy. :eek

Sam Feb 7th, 2009 01:38 PM

A couple of nights ago I watched Matango: Attack of the Mushroom People!

Mushroom people are freaky to me. :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 7th, 2009 02:28 PM

Finally watched Disco Godfather. It wasn't very good. Dolemite and Human Tornado were way better. Disco Godfather felt more like an after school special. The last ten minutes were just torture.

The film starred Rudy Ray Moore and Julius Carry

R.I.P

Guitar Woman Feb 8th, 2009 12:22 AM

Strange Brew.

Glorious testament to the bravery and lifestyle of the Canadian man

TheBigMan045 Feb 8th, 2009 05:17 AM

Sex Drive. Funny in parts and the GTO is an awesome car to do a road trip in, and the talking donut costume is fuckin funny just watch it for that

I think I still have my Bob and Doug McKenzie talking figures somewhere. I really want to watch SCTV now.

WhiteRat Feb 8th, 2009 07:43 PM

Bug.

I had never even heard of this movie before I watched it but I was pleasantly surprised. Clever how they tied all the characters together.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 11th, 2009 02:11 AM

More stand-up comedy but I'm watching John Leguizamo's Sexaholics again :)

MetalMilitia Feb 11th, 2009 07:03 AM

Body of Lies - A competent thriller but nothing special. Good performance from DiCaprio but Russell Crowe annoyed me.

Gran Torino - Finally got around to watching this and loved it. Eastwood is really great, though he kind of reminded me of Hank Hill

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 12th, 2009 07:32 PM

My Bloody Valentine: 3d (Except the theater only showed it in 2D when we went.)

Wow was this ridiculous. It would have been better if I would have went when they were still showing it in 3d. All these other people in the theater were getting upset at me and my sister who were sitting toward the back.

We just kept exclaiming "Ahhhhh, this would be in 3D right now!"

I did really enjoy the way the flick opened too.

Sam Feb 12th, 2009 09:30 PM

I watched the live action version of Devilman and it fucking sucked and was one and a half hours too long. :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 12th, 2009 09:42 PM

Bad times, usually live action versions of things are terrible. I remember watching a live studio version of Cutey Honey before. :(

Sam Feb 12th, 2009 09:47 PM

Ugh. :(

RaNkeri Feb 14th, 2009 05:38 PM

Max Payne :(

Babs Feb 14th, 2009 06:24 PM

Well here's 3 movies I just watched. Story of Ricky, Return of the Living Dead, and just finished Mallrats.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 14th, 2009 07:20 PM

I liked Return2 when they have the Zoombies running down the street.

Kitsa Feb 14th, 2009 07:35 PM

Pineapple Express. It was a big chunk of mediocre pot-comedy interrupted by hilarious Borat-style fight scenes.

Babs Feb 14th, 2009 09:10 PM

The more I watch that movie the less I like it, it's one of those films that are good to watch only once.

MetalMilitia Feb 15th, 2009 09:09 AM

Paul Blart: Mall Cop - I'm one of those crazy people that actually quite liked King of Queens and think that Kevin James is pretty funny, even when he's in completely shit films like Chuck and Larry. As such I was willing to check out Paul Blart: Mall Cop despite it's dubious reviews and I'm glad I did. It's certainly not breaking any new ground so far as comedy goes and there are some rather stupid elements to the film but overall I enjoyed it.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - Again I watched this film purely for the fact that I like Michael Cera. It reminded me a lot of Lost in Translation to be honest, which is good because I like Lost in Translation. I think it's a slightly better film than Juno, but that could just be because I don't like Ellen Page. Cera's performane is as good as usual. I don't know what it is he does but he has some strange ability to make lines like "I promise you sir, this is not a taxi" hilarious.
Anyway, it's worth a watch.

Kitsa Feb 15th, 2009 01:11 PM

We watched Friday the 13th part 2 last night.

It's hilarious how long they took to figure out what Jason was/did. Especially in Part 2 where he gets kicked in the balls.

The bf actually thought Jason X was called "Jason Goes to Space", which I like better because it puts a madcap muppet-caper spin on it.

Tadao Feb 15th, 2009 02:34 PM

I like Kevin James, he stand up show has funny too. I'm sure mall cop is just fine on a lazy day.

I already know the twists of the plot, but is it gross?

pac-man Feb 17th, 2009 07:02 AM

Religulous. Funny and thought provoking; I'm always impressed by Bill Maher's broad knowledge of many religions. But it's a preaching to the choir type ordeal. If you agree you'll like it; if you don't you won't and would likely dismiss it sight unseen.

kahljorn Feb 18th, 2009 12:38 AM

I watched nosferatu three times in a row :( IM SO LAME.

SO LAME.

RaNkeri Feb 18th, 2009 09:46 AM

Man, Nosferatu is awesome :(

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 18th, 2009 02:17 PM

The Core again. You'd think I would just leave it alone by now.

Kitsa Feb 19th, 2009 05:35 PM

Where the Buffalo Roam- I'm not sure whose Hunter S. Thompson I like better. I think Bill Murray's is better going on voice alone, but Johnny Depp was better with expressions and mannerisms. Both actors' attitude problems reputedly date to their character study of Hunter S. Thompson. Great writer and interesting guy overall, but he spawned this disease of wannabes who can't differentiate drugged-out insanity from pathetic deliberate wackiness.

American Splendor- I really like Harvey Pekar. Paul Giamotti was perfect for the role.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0akXKxbflM

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 19th, 2009 06:22 PM

I have to finish watching American Splendor. I tried watching it with my ex-girlfriend and she fell asleep. We are no longer dating.

Babs Feb 19th, 2009 09:10 PM

I indulged myself in Sleepaway Camp 2. It's a true cheese fest but that's what I'm looking for.

MetalMilitia Feb 20th, 2009 07:19 AM

Teen Sex Comedy #2141 (Sex Drive) - Not the worst film ever with a few amusing parts but otherwise a by the numbers teen sex comedy.

Kitsa Feb 20th, 2009 02:12 PM

Burn after Reading. It had its funny points but was a little disappointing overall. A lot of the time, I thought Brad Pitt was trying to do a French Stewart impression.

Spoilers!

Edit: My mother recommended "Delta Farce". I left halfway through. Wacky redneck hijinks are not my thing.

King Hadas Feb 20th, 2009 06:30 PM

Apocalypse Now: I'm no master of movie madness but I'm pretty sure this is the greatest movie ever made.

I didn't expect the movie to be as dark as it was, but I was thoroughly entertained.

RaNkeri Feb 20th, 2009 07:30 PM

Casablanca

Tadao Feb 21st, 2009 08:35 PM

Just watched Bill Maher's Religulous. It was great, but I was hoping he would talk to Jehovah Witnesses. He didn't and I'm sharing this movie with my mommy who is a JW. She doesn't have the same beliefs that all the nut jobs on this film have, so I guees she's not that bad. :rolleyes

Kitsa Feb 21st, 2009 09:29 PM

My ex-in-laws were JWs. UGH.

Watched Girl, Interrupted again (I own the DVD), which goes down in Kitsa history as the only movie Angelina Jolie was good in and the only Whoopi Goldberg movie that Whoopi didn't ruin.

Then Friday the 13th, which I expected to be better than it ended up being.

MetalMilitia Feb 22nd, 2009 08:58 AM

Pulp Fiction - I've seen this film so many times but I still love it.

Kill Bill part 2 - Another decent film. My favourite part is the kung-fu training sequence.

pac-man Feb 22nd, 2009 12:08 PM

Kill Bill vol. 2 > Kill Bill vol. 1

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 22nd, 2009 12:48 PM

The World Is Not Enough. It's still good but I remember liking it more when it came out.

The ending line "I thought Christmas only comes once a year" while he's sexting Christmas Jones is amazing. I hate how in the videogame ending on N64 it was changed to "Merry Christmas" instead.

Watching Pootie Tang right now.

RaNkeri Feb 22nd, 2009 04:00 PM

The 1994 Frankenstein

pac-man Feb 22nd, 2009 04:51 PM

The one with De Niro? Great flick.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 22nd, 2009 09:39 PM

Friday the 13th remake. It was okay. I was actually expecting it to be pretty terrible.

Esuohlim Feb 22nd, 2009 10:09 PM

Sex Drive. It was ok I guess, I don't know.

pac-man Feb 23rd, 2009 01:35 AM

Into the Wild Green Yonder. The Futurama DVDs have all just been long episodes; there hasn't been a big focus on continuity between them or a story arch to tie them all together. They've introduced new characters and built upon the canon of the series without getting away from the strengths of the series. So, Wild Green Yonder is another hilarious episode of Futurama, full of references and jokes tailor made for videogame nerds and sci-fi fanboys. It waits until very late in the proceedings to acknowledge that it's the very last Futurama we're likely to see, and by then there's no time to reflect; probably for the best as a long goodbye wouldn't have been nearly as hilarious as this was.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 23rd, 2009 01:41 AM

Did you get a burned copy? I want to see Into the Wild Green Yonder bad. I heard they finally

Spoilers!

pac-man Feb 23rd, 2009 01:44 AM

Spoilers!

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 23rd, 2009 01:51 AM

Damn, I read that he was supposed to be really significant to the Futurama universe but also that the writers were happy if that was the last of Futurama.

P.S

Hopefully it's not.

Babs Feb 23rd, 2009 08:32 AM

I just got done watching Friday the 13th part 3 and the Final Chapter.

Tadao Feb 23rd, 2009 06:36 PM

Quarantine. I was ok until halfway though it when I realized I was bored and not nervous at all. I decided to watch the end even though at this point I could care less. It really is a shitty movie.

Sam Feb 23rd, 2009 08:26 PM

I watched Choke and I liked it! :eek

kahljorn Feb 24th, 2009 05:59 AM

I watched burn after reading and it made me kinda depressed :(

Kitsa Feb 24th, 2009 08:34 AM

Was the closet scene a surprise?

kahljorn Feb 24th, 2009 12:34 PM

i read your spoiler :(, but i didn't expect it to happen when he was smiling like a gentle jackass.

all the people that are worth a damn in that movie... and the ones who aren't...

lol though, "THE RUSSIANS?"

Kitsa Feb 24th, 2009 09:15 PM

I just rented a bunch of 2-for-$1 Asian Extreme shit. I'll report back.

pac-man Feb 25th, 2009 01:27 AM

Body of Lies. Good flick, nice tension, pacing, and acting. Definitely represents the higher end of post-9/11 terrorist movies.

Sam Feb 25th, 2009 01:28 AM

I AM ABOUT TO WATCH "HOT ROD."

IT'S NOT PORNO. :rolleyes

electric ninja Feb 25th, 2009 05:47 AM

I watched Hot rod a few days ago, I enjoyed it.
um, that was a big hill

Yeah, I didn't expect it either. I'm sure they did it on purpose, to jerk it abruptly out of wacky and make it really dark and sad :/

Especially how we were looking at it almost first-person immediately beforehand.

WhiteRat Feb 26th, 2009 09:33 PM

Choke

If you've read the book, you'll definitely be disappointed by the ending. They basically just cut out a huge part of it for reasons that I don't know.

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 26th, 2009 10:12 PM

Is it worth reading?

Kitsa Feb 27th, 2009 01:41 PM

The Signal. Jaysus was it some stupid shit.

I don't know why, but every time I see AJ Bowen, I think he's Ryan Reynolds with a bushy beard.

There was only one really quality kill, but even that just turned out to be a dream sequence. Glad I only paid 50 cents to rent it for a week.

kahljorn Feb 27th, 2009 04:41 PM

choke is a horrible book. What the hell is with all of his characters going to support groups and acting like they are cool anarchist types? It's so fucking typical and annoying. i bet he writes his stories while wearing sun glasses.

RaNkeri Feb 27th, 2009 07:08 PM

Spawn

It was ok, hasn't aged well

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 28th, 2009 03:10 AM

I didn't see any parallels between the guy in Fight Club and Victor in choke, but that's just me. And for the record, I didn't even like Fight Club.

RaNkeri Feb 28th, 2009 03:32 PM

Robocop

10,000 Volt Ghost Feb 28th, 2009 05:22 PM

Watched part of Rambo: First Blood: Part Two with my roommate who hasn't seen it. I made him watch the part where Rambo finally takes out the one soldier with a explosive tip arrow that has been dogging him up till that point in the movie.

kahljorn Feb 28th, 2009 11:14 PM

Maybe its just me then.

Fathom Zero Feb 28th, 2009 11:22 PM

Early screening of the Watchmen. Aces.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 1st, 2009 03:50 AM

I want to see the Watchmen.

Watched the beginning of Hook last night. Going to finish it tonight. I love me some Bob Hoskins.

A minor note, the kid from hook is the same "The Kid" from Dick Tracy and also the nerd kid from can't hardly wait......he might be in Congress right now.....for real.

pac-man Mar 1st, 2009 04:13 AM

And let's not forget his memorable role in What About Bob

Stauffenberg ('04)(TV) - The German historical war drama on a plot to kill Hitler which doesn't star the little gay spaceman Tom Cruise.

bigtimecow Mar 2nd, 2009 10:01 PM

the life aquatic and chasing amy

got both for my birthday and haven't seen them in years. i appreciate the life aquatic a lot more now; when i first saw it i don't think i really understood a lot of the contextual and dry humor (being like... 16?). but chasing amy is still wonderful

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 2nd, 2009 10:04 PM

I went to go watch Life Aquatic two days ago and my copy is missing. Did you get my copy for your birthday?

Wet Hot American Summer is a great movie. I still like The Ten better though but only slightly.

10,000 Volt Ghost Mar 5th, 2009 06:22 PM

Watched the new Futurama movie last night. I liked it but need to watch it again. We were drinking and playing Monopoly. I won.

Tadao Mar 7th, 2009 01:20 AM

I just watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
