Query!
How the fuck can an audio file "skip" when it's not playing from a CD in the first place?
I'm trying to replay Silent Hill 2 and James shouting I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- I'M- for 2 minutes during a cutscene is really breaking the atmosphere, here. If it doesn't continue through the entire cutscene and into the game until I go through a door, it'll stop a second later and leave the video and audio out of synch. Music and prolonged audio like the radio static pops and skips, too, both in-game and during cutscenes. I had most of the same problems with this very same torrent on an old computer, but my assumption was the machine was just a piece of shit. It's a CCD image, is that just a really crappy format? Probably. Quite wasting your time on Silent Hill 2.

it may need to be patched to fix audio/video issues or run in compatibility mode, how old is the pc version of SH2 again

I dunno, like, 2002?
I found and installed a patch that supposedly would fix sound looping, but it didn't change anything. Turning off hardware acceleration seems to help, but it still fucks up a lot. God damnit! |

Is it happening the same way every time you play it?

No, it's not.
After I turned off hardware acceleration it's not nearly as bad, but it still ruins cutscenes longer than 30 seconds. It's sorta cool if it doesn't loop a sound and just remains quiet, because I can pretend it's some form of half assed surrealism. Double points when I play the voicebox sound in Killer 7 over it! This is probably actually a blessing in disguise, since I've always fucking hated Silent Hill's voice acting. ALSO I HATE TO BE PREDICTABLE BUT REMEMBER WHEN I SAID THAT THIS GAME WAS A PIECE OF SHIT? WELL, I WAS RIGHT |
