Bod's race regime

Hey, I ran a 5 mile race today, which as it goes is one of the hardest races I've ever done due to the speed. Much prefer half marathons where a person can chill and have chin-wag with fellow competitors.

Anyway. I'd hoped to complete it under 44minutes, but as it goes finished at 41 mins and 14 secs.

"How on earth for the love of sweet jesu" I hear you cry.

Well I'll tell you. Night before the race drink half a bottle of champagne and then a bottle of Aussie Jacobs Creek White. Wake at 5am and have a shag, then kip. Re-wake at 8.30, screw for appporx 30mins and then get out of bed. Drink orange juice and drive to start line. Start running. Run some more.

That doesn't sound like an awfully good training regime :/

Seems simple enough. Only a genius could think it up.

Bod Feb 6th, 2006 05:47 PM

It was more of a happy accident.

Mind you, the other half in this equation didn't do so well as hoped in his run. He obviously ain't as hard-core as me.

Sethomas Feb 6th, 2006 05:49 PM

I for one would love to have Bod as a personal trainer. :love

Bod Feb 8th, 2006 05:10 PM

Very sweet Seth. I've been wanting to leave my job for sometime, so maybe this is a new way forward with me. - A new 'hole' in the market.

Over the next few months I've applied to run a 5 m, a 20 m and a half marathon. Ending in a full Marathon in June.

Will keep y'all posted on my gruelling race training regime.
