Children of Men

So uh, did anyone else see this?

The scenes with no cuts were scary cool :(

Only film ever in my life to give me a nightmare. I wasn't scared watching it but I dreamt that night about the scene near the end (where the streets are getting all bombed and they're in that bombed out house with baby), that it was happening in my street and my house was collapsing and neighbours being buried under rubble.
So yeah I sort of dislike that film now....
[did you see it included on the horrible dvd cover list]

It's really good.

Every time I watch those long take shots, I am amazed, and I must have watched the movie five times now.

i liked how the blonde girl gets her head shot

I heard it was great and 'total Oscar material,' but no.

Spoilers!
and then you have to sit for hours just watching Clive Owen run around.

The plot is interesting, but honestly?- I'm sick of all these doomsday stories being centered in and around London (or the U.K.)

HickMan Mar 23rd, 2008 02:43 AM

This movie's great. Michael Caine makes the perfect hippie

And I'm sick of all other films ever made being centred around America.

Besides there are what - like 3 doomsday films set in the UK; this and 28 days/weeks later. I am Legend was the latest end-of-the-world film and that was set in New York (possibly). It also sucked horribly.

Protoclown Mar 23rd, 2008 10:00 PM

Yeah, I think it's refreshing to see some kind of apocalyptic movie NOT set in America.

WhiteRat Mar 23rd, 2008 11:10 PM

It was a pretty good movie but I didn't find it to be as amazing as the internet hyped it up to be.

McClain Mar 24th, 2008 09:58 AM

I thought it was a good movie, but only because I love to hear stories about guys who reunite with their estranged ex-wives of whom they've lost children with and are now faced with the burden of saving humanity by way of a pregnant black chick and a rubber boat.

Any movie that can make a grown man weep like a little girl can't be too bad.
