Beatles Re-masturbated

My work week I download Podcasts (Nobody likes onions/Adam Corrola/Sick and wrong) and this week I tried out a podcast about the re-mastering of the Beatles songs.

No matter what you do to a Beatles song its been in my head for over 20 years and if my kids hear he new version they won't go back and listen to the old version so stop fucking with shit.

I thought it was good enough the first time around. I don't like remastered/sampled shit.

I remember when my brother thought Rick James stole "Superfreak" from MC Hammer.

I bought them.

remastered doesn't usually mean anything's been added or changed, just cleaned up :/

Either way, sometimes your memory lies in the poor recording and that's how you want it to stay.

I used to have a doors cassette tape that had a pinch during "Break on Through". I heard it so many times that way that it's weird not hearing "The day destroys the night...night deee-BHYYY*zzzzip* the day..." now.

You mean that wasn't how "Break on Through" was supposed to sound?

well, it's how it sounds to me.

There's a Metallica song that's like that for me, Kitsa. I forget which, but it was on the black album.

Anyway, yeah, re-mastering the re-mastered Beatles songs is stupid and a cheap way to make money.

I had a girlfriend who would buy me Beatles CDs at any gift-giving occasion because she had no better ideas, though I already had all their albums on vinyl and never listen to them. I think the CD's made me not really like the Beatles.

I can't listen to Let it Be though I like the LP a lot. It's just not the same without the cracks and pops and warps.

I'll stick with the lp's as well. I'm not much for getting new versions of things I already have, with the exception of the Replacements albums, they added some great outtakes and b-sides.

that's funny.

I've been looking for a good (as in, not all scratched to hell) copy of the Ramones' End of the Century. I want to keep it nice in one of those album-frames.
