Good Choice

Yeah! :D
Herzog was awesome. Chewed up many, many well spent hours of my life playing this. Kicking the computer's ass was pretty easy, and it was good challenging fun going head to head with a friend. The theme music is now running through my brain again :P good times

Woah, sounds a lot like Total Annihilation!

I bet having a name like "Herzog Zwei" didn't help much either.

This is one of those games I meant to try out, but never did.

I stay with Starcraft.

I KNEW I had heard that name before. Sounds really awesome. You think Nintendo would put it out on Virtual Console?

Dr. Boogie Apr 25th, 2008 07:04 PM

Maybe they're waiting to release it so that it will coincide with Herzog Drei?

My brother had this game and I hated, Hated, HATED it. I totally sucked and lost every battle. Now that I've had experience with C&C and whatnot I should probably give it another shot. Thanks for reminding me that it exists!

I thought Populus was the first RTS? I cant remember what system it was for though. Old school.

Populus was out on PC and AMI in '89. Herzog Zwei in '88. Ya got me. Fun fact though, Japan didnt get this game untill '89! We actually got a game first!

populous is more of a 'god game' than an rts

and it came out the same year, anyways

edit: and if you want to go to a definition of rts where populous counts because it's strategic and has real-time play, then utopia for intellivision came out way the hell earlier and also fits that category

This reminds me so much of Advance Wars...
