Just hooked this up for the first time in about 12 years and it doesnt work >:(

And it will NEVER work. EVER. Even if I bought a new one that was hot off the factory presses and never opened.

Can you guess what it is?

Spoilers!

I have 2 replies to that:

1) You must have a funny shaped dick to hook up with that.

2) Of course it didn't work, that receives non HD signals, which no longer are in use

A Space Heater?

darkvare Jul 27th, 2011 11:04 AM

i think that might actually work over here i mean you can put a metallic pin on the tvs over here and get like 5 channels

Pentegarn Jul 27th, 2011 05:21 PM

Send it Mew's way, maybe he can use his high tech modding powers to turn it to an HD receiver

darkvare Jul 27th, 2011 05:33 PM

or if he is lucky maybe get some of thosse alien communications

Pentegarn Jul 27th, 2011 07:23 PM

Ooh like in that episode of Amazing Stories?

mew barios Jul 27th, 2011 07:36 PM

there are still a few analog signals floating around, though they seem to all be in spanish and involve jesus somehow.

tv tuners aren't useless, it will accept a direct input and you could use it as a screen for.. i dunno. you could take your pong console with you on vacation and plug it into your gamegear for a portable pong experience :O

I still have my game gear too :(

No, son, you don't need a Genesis when you already have a Nintendo and a Super Nintendo. Santa said so. Have a Game Gear this Christmas.
And that's when I knew Santa was bullshit >:
Also Sonic 2 on that was awful.

Nick Jul 28th, 2011 08:21 PM

Why would you bother with that? :(

mew barios Aug 4th, 2011 06:18 PM

just ducttape all that nonsense together and youre good to go

Chojin Aug 6th, 2011 05:54 PM

this thread got me all nostalgic for my game gear, so i hooked it up and played it last night

christ, sonic 2 for the gear was awful

Pentegarn Aug 6th, 2011 07:44 PM

I bought a game gear at the very late end (post end of new games so the systems are now on clearance) of the Game Gear era. All I played on it was Shining Force

Nick Aug 6th, 2011 07:49 PM

I never got the chance to own a Game Gear but this one older kid on my school bus had one and he let me play it every now and then on the ride to school. I remember there being a ice level in some Sonic game that I couldn't beat for anything.

From what I hear, isn't Sonic 1 and 2 just ports from the Master System?

Also, is there a single game worth a fuck for the SMS?

Nick Aug 7th, 2011 01:30 AM

I can only think of Alex Kidd and Shinobi.

Chojin Aug 7th, 2011 02:41 AM

space harrier

i know sonic 2 GG is a SMS port with some slight changes, but i think sonic 1 GG was different? I'm 99% sure Sonic 3 GG is different. the GG itself is just a master system; you can buy a converter cartridge to play SMS games in the GG
