yes, along with dark funeral and marduk and reversed burial... they are the only black metal i listen to as of now, because aside from BBM, (brutal black metal) most black metal is image based pussy shit.

Emperor is way cool, "...Welkin..." is probably my favorite, though "Prometheus" is pretty amazing too. Dissection, Bathory, Immortal are probably my favorite "black metal' bands.

I'm all about the In the Nighshade Eclipse myself. And you forgot In The Woods... Ninja >:
But Emperor is still better than them all in my opinion, INTE is a masterpiece. If you listen to it on good speakers that kind of offsets the bad production I find. And if you get past the production, it is just the most majestic album ever.

P.S Speaking of In The Woods... you should check out Carpathian Forest if you haven't already Ninja, I think they had the same guitarist or something. They're pretty over the top and kinda cheesy, but I think their still fairly spiffy.

There used to be a better picture of him onstage wearing a thong or something. Other than that yes they are good. And over the top bands are what makes the whole thing interesting.

Don't forget Hypocrisy..they're one of the best.

Carpathian Forest were actually one of the first BM bands i checked out on soulseek. They're great for when you want some thrashy BM. I wouldn't know much about their members or anything though, i didn't look up much else about them besides their name. ;3
