COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS: STELLA

I was just going to ask whatever happened to this, because I never saw it advertised or anything past the previews for the new series of specials back in February. But just now, I saw a commercial for Stand-Up Stand Outs or some shit, and it turns out it's going to be on tonight at 10:30. So, yeah.

In other news, Amy Lee's on Cartoon Cartoon Friday tonight. And it looks like she'll be wearing pigtails, too. :yum

And finally, Lewis Black will have a comedy special on HBO tomorrow at 10pm.

James May 14th, 2004 11:39 PM

Holy fuck, this is funny. You guys better be watching it, or will be watching it when it's on in your time zone.

Bennett May 15th, 2004 12:01 AM

:/ wow that was totally unfunny.

"you're gonna get a tummy-ache."

"group hug. yay!"

:/

huond May 15th, 2004 12:08 AM

wow that was totally funny >:

i hate people named bennett >:

Jixby Phillips May 15th, 2004 02:53 AM

Stella should have a series :(

executioneer May 15th, 2004 02:56 AM

bennett should have a spear thrown thru his skull :(

Jixby Phillips May 15th, 2004 03:16 AM

whoreable May 15th, 2004 03:29 AM

Jixby Phillips May 15th, 2004 04:38 AM

I tivoed it on my tivo beacuse i have tivo

James May 15th, 2004 04:43 AM

I thought it was hilarious. Not "bursting out into laughter" hilarious, but "that is fucking great comedy" hilarious.

By the way, I can't get the latest Stella short to work. I downloaded the others finally, but "Backstage" won't work. Actually, now I can get it to load on the site, but I can't download it.

Drev May 15th, 2004 10:55 AM

I couldn't watch it. I had work. :(

GADZOOKS May 16th, 2004 02:34 AM

Which one is Stella?

Bennett May 17th, 2004 11:26 AM

the worst part about this was the uproars of laughter at anything somebody said or did

"OMG that guy is running across stage saying, 'I'm not going to get a tummy-ache'... gosh darn that is funny."

the crowd reaction was like the suburban-white-person's def comedy jam

Was there really anybody who didn't know that he was going to say "the Taliban" when asked, "who are they?" at the end? Yet the crowd erupted at that as well.

The stuff that Michael Ian Black says on "I Love the 80's" is more funny that this snooze-fest.

executioneer May 17th, 2004 10:02 PM

so what IS funny bennet, crank yankers? shorties watchin' shorties? if they made more family guy references, would you have laughed?

GADZOOKS May 17th, 2004 10:13 PM

Don't mind bennet, he thinks WINGS is funny

Bennett May 18th, 2004 10:10 AM

:rolleyes

yeah, I really think all those shows are funny.

There could be a tv show that just showed people walking down the street, but as long as they were people from "The State" you'd love it... and you're going to criticize what I like because I didn't think this was funny?

Sorry, but this was about the level of an 8th grade skit, which might put it slightly above the rest of comedy central's programing, but it's no WINGS.

tony shaloub 4 eva
:rolleyes

James May 18th, 2004 11:54 AM

Bennett is clearly a supporter of the new Man Show.

Stella is funny, regardless of them being State alumni. If you don't like it, fine. But you have to accept that you are wrong. You can have your own opinions and think it's not funny, but you also have to acknowledge that you are wrong, and that's OK.

wreckreation May 18th, 2004 01:21 PM

the comedy central was like a severely editted version of the live shows i saw. i enjoyed it a lot but possibly because i remembered so much it didnt show. I still love their delivery regardless of the material. skits such as the NE restaurant show great writing and fucking excellent delivery. it was weird with no cussing.

Rongi May 18th, 2004 06:33 PM

Jixby Phillips May 19th, 2004 05:37 AM

I'm just curious Bennet, how familiar are you with Stella? Is this your first dose of them? Have you ever watched the Stella videos? You seem to be familiar with the State, but I dont care about that.

Bennett May 19th, 2004 01:51 PM

the comedy central thing was all I'd ever seen by Stella

Royal Tenenbaum May 19th, 2004 03:01 PM

Where can I download this? Does anyone have a torrent?

James May 19th, 2004 03:06 PM

Someone else field this... It's just too easy for a great, wealthy American like myself.
