NEW MINIMOCK: "CYNDI LAUPER'S 'GOONIES' VIDEO!"

Need proof that music videos have gone to shit? Look no further than the 2-part video for Cyndi Lauper's greatest song - "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough". It's pure madness, featuring WWF wrestlers and much more!

holy shit , i have not laughed that hard in a long while. That is one of the funniest mini-mocks you have done. And im a huge WWF nerd so the wrestlers were great, if only Nailz had been in it somehow....... anyway this now the greatest music video ever in my book.

FS Mar 6th, 2003 06:17 AM

Good lord, I think one of those gifs of Andre the Giant would make a swell personal pic.

pjalne Mar 6th, 2003 07:40 AM

I don't have time to read it now, I'll download it and read it at home. But I have to say: this should have been done a long time ago. Goonies 'R' Good Enough is one of the best music videos ever. It had Captain Lou, octopi, Spielberg in a mullet and Engrish. And that's just the shit I remember from the top of my head.

I sense I will need to go through my Goonies DVD today.

Ok - Rog made a few mistakes in his review. First, it's Andie who was going to ride the bucket, not Annie. There was no Annie in the movie. Second - that really was Spielberg in the video. He was the executive producer on the movie and since the movie's director, Richard Donner, directed the video, he had Spielberg do a cameo.

Mockery Mar 6th, 2003 10:17 AM

Err0r? What err0r?

And you're wrong too, it's not Andie it's "Andy", but that's for calling my attention to it.

Pjalne/Zorak790, damn straight. Anybody who hasn't seen this video is truly missing out on what is probably the greatest music video ever.

FS, yeah, I was thinking somebody might make one of those Andre animations their user pic. You really can't go wrong with Andre in any walk of life.

From Wil Wheaton:

"Yesterday, I took the day off and went to Disneyland with my best friend Darin. When we were in the caves on Pirates of the Caribbean, I said, "Down here, it's our time! It's Goonie Time!"

And now I see this story today. Coincidence?! I think NOT!"

Just read it. For some reason, IE doesn't wanna load the index page very much. Now i must own that DVD, you have intrigued me, with promises of giants, cookies, and The Bangles. :yum

For some reason, IE doesn't wanna load the index page very much

That's cuz it was featured on Fark today and got a lot of traffic (and still is getting lots) so it's gonna load slower than normal today. If ya check back tomorrow the pics will load up for ya much faster. It's not a problem with your IE.

After reading the minimock and watching the video over again, I cam eto the same conclusion I did the first time I saw it: this world is not worthy.

While I loved the piece, I have one question. I'm not all that crazy about AI, but what has Spielberg (and as previously noted, that was the real Spielberg) done to deserve your scolding? While Minority Report had some plotholes that couldn't be overlooked if you had a periscope, it was a kickass sci-fi thriller. I'm going to watch Catch Me if You Can later tonight, is it really that weak? Or are you referring to the void between Schindler and AI? Just curious.

The Unseen Mar 7th, 2003 06:54 AM

ive never seen the goonies :puke :/

Helm Mar 7th, 2003 08:40 AM

Oh man, that was fucking great. I loved that minimock. Now I'll have to get the DVD.

Glorfindel Mar 7th, 2003 09:14 AM

That video is so good, I really like Cyndi Lauper. She is cool!

Mockery Mar 7th, 2003 02:07 PM

Thanks for the comments all, this one went over really well. I'll have to do some more 80's music video features when I have the chance. If you haven't seen the video, you seriously are missing out. Buy the dvd and watch it OR THE IRON SHEIK WILL PUT YOU BASTARDS IN A CAMEL CLUTCH! >:

Pjalne, I think Saving Private Ryan was honestly the last really good project Spielberg was involved in, and that was back in '98. He needs a really good movie badly. I just look at all the good stuff he used to do and compare it to what he's doin these days, and he seems pretty washed up. Besides that, there's way better directors out there today. Jean-Pierre Jeunet, for example.

Zomboid Mar 7th, 2003 04:27 PM

Tim Burton >:

CastroMotorOil Mar 7th, 2003 11:52 PM

WWF wrestlers=AWESOME. Will you ever be doing anything about old 80's wrestling? (yes i know wrestlecrap has/had the market cornered on that but they are gone now)

Mock: Matter of taste i guess. I liked Catch Me a lot :(

Zomboid Mar 8th, 2003 04:35 AM

I loved sleepy hollow. I got the feeling he wasn't given complete control (hence the windmilll thing) but it still kicked ass.

As for planet of the apes remake...That's one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and not just the worst tim burton movie. I have no idea how you can go from shit like beetlejuice and edward scissorhands to THAT. I think "big fish" is being made but I know nothing about it other than he's directing. Btw, I saw "ed wood" recently. Good movie.

Edit: I wanna get a full size painting of that >:

James Mar 8th, 2003 04:55 AM

PotA wasn't that bad. But I STILL don't understand the ending worth a damn, which makes me mad.

pjalne Mar 8th, 2003 06:28 AM

PotA was supposed to have a WTF ending, according to the producer. You're not really supposed to get it.

Big Fish could be good, Ed Wood is great. I have to admit I love Mars Attack more each time I see it. I sometimes pop the DVD in just to see Nicholson shout 'Shut up!' Magical.

By the way, they're talking about a Beetlejuice sequel where thew ghost with the most meets his black street-wise alter ego (=buddy movie, with alter ego most likely called BJ, B-Dawg or something equally horrid). Burton isn't on it, and if it's made it will be shit.

Zomboid Mar 8th, 2003 06:56 AM

If only they payed burton and keaton whatever it took to bring them back for another batman or beetlejuice movie :(

pjalne Mar 8th, 2003 08:27 AM

That could kick ass as long as Denise DeNovi produced. Problem is, Jon Peters gets most of those projects nowadays. If he does a new Beetlejuice, you can be sure he will insist on Beetlejuice being gay, he will have a gay robot friend, there will be a BeetleMobile, and Winona Ryder will be given superpowers and Matrix-Trinity's wardrobe. Also, he will have his own customized VISA card.

Ness Mar 10th, 2003 10:47 AM

I only wish I had the same outfit as The Iron Sheik in that video...

Mockery Mar 10th, 2003 11:06 AM

I've always wanted a pair of the Iron Sheik's boots. >:
