Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus?

The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Weekly Jump is spilling the beans (actually very few beans) about Square Enix's "other" Final Fantasy VII-based game, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus.

In the past other magazines have hinted at the possibility of a FF VII title featuring the gothic Vincent Valentine and those hints seem to have materialized into truth. While the magazine doens't offer up much information about the game, it does show some nice art of Vicent standing atop a hill, gripping his trusty gun. Also, the game will appear on the PS2.

We'll bring you more details about Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus as soon as they become available, which will hopefully be at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

It seems by the images at the bottom of the page that they're really trying to make Vincent look as much like Vash the Stampede as they possibly can.

Final Fantasy VII is, in my opinion, the greatest console game of all time. I am very excited by Advent Children, can't wait to see it, but I'm starting to get a little concerned that they might hurt the reputation of the original with these sequels.

Then again, maybe they'll kick even more ass!

Mabye, mabye not. I'm a big fan of FF7 so I'd have to go to Japan and get the cell phone game, and then learn Japanese so I could play it :) And you just go ahead and kill the Posters family Baby Jesus :lol

FFVII is a kick ass game but they might be going overboard with all this and end up being not as cool of a story because of it. Final Fantasy VII was unique because of the way the game progressed and eventually ended in mystery. Throw your FFVII theories out the door.

I can imagine the "hah, I was right!" threads going up in gaming forums everywhere approximately 2 days after the realease of this game.

FF7 was great, but I didn't love Vincent as much as most FF7 fans seem to. Mostly cuz his limits sucked ass.

Rongi Sep 23rd, 2004 09:29 PM

vincent's ultimate weapon sucked to high hell too.

I never understood why so many people thought final fantasy VII was so great. It's not bad by any means and it's a good game in it's own right, but honestly it never really felt like a final fantasy game to me. And I still want to kill whoever decided to call them 'mogs' instead of moogles.

Father §p@z Sep 24th, 2004 12:28 PM

Mog is short for moogle, you retard >:

Rongi Sep 24th, 2004 05:00 PM

That reminds me of one of Mad Max's long all caps stories about someone getting hurt with a penis in some sick, twisted way :(

Crying Baby Jesus Sep 25th, 2004 02:22 AM
