Amazon.com recommended me THIS?
Amazon.com offers a recommendation page, showcasing other merchandise relating to your past interests/purchases. I believe a more recent addition to this page, is showing exactly why an item is recommended to you. For example, I'm being recommended Guild Wars, because I bought World of Warcraft. Makes sense.
But sometimes, these recommendations seem... off. Especially considering what other products you looked at that they're basing it on. Here are some of mine. -Chappelle's Show: Season 2 - Recommended because you rated SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs -Mezmerize, by System of a Down - Recommended because you purchased An Evening with Kevin Smith -Mercury (PSP) - Recommended because you said you owned House of Flying Daggers -Harold & Kumar go to White Castle - Recommended because you purchased Metal Gear Solid 3 Limited Edition Strategy Guide ...What? Yes, I know these recommendations are based mostly on what customers with similar interests bought. But that doesn't make it any less strange/amusing. Post some of your peculiar recommendations. We'll make a day of it. |
