I've been colonized... literally

Has anyone ever heard of ants starting a colony in your laptop? Because it's happening to me.... right now! I picked up my old-school clamshell iMac off the floor in my room and saw some ants underneath it (yes my house has ants... I live with lesbian savages.) When I opened it up, there are ants crawling in and out the keyboard.
Everything is still working but I'm wondering for how long. I'm trying to save all my word docs onto this desktop.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm freaking out.

Fumigate the house

That'd be a good start. That and kicking out my roommates and their empty soda cans. Specifically for the computer though- would pesticides hurt it?

Just get those compressed air can sprayer things and blast the ants out of it, then clean up all the soda bottles and food thats laying around, and get some of the ant poisen things.

Leave the computer off and unplugged. If there is no power to it, then the ants can't short anything out. I'm not sure how you can clean them all out, but a dead ant body can make a short just the same as a live ant body.

Circuit boards are covered with solder mask. So it would be rather difficult for an ant to short anything out just walking around on it, but if it gets near any of the parts on the circuit board, they can have exposed leads. I would be most worried about the ants shorting out an IC because they tend to have the most exposed areas.

Most laptops let you unscrew and lift off the keyboard. I'd leave an ant trap near your laptop while it's off, then come back the next day and vaccuum out the dead ants.

Most likely the lesbos spilled a soda into your compy.

This reminds me of the movie Pi.
