The Boondocks
 

I haven't made up my mind about this show. It has its funny moments, but being white sometimes obscures the jokes, so that's a downside. Any thoughts?

Its much better than the comic IMO. I think its pretty good overall too. Nothing thats really laugh worthy funny but I do like to watch it.

I've been pretty much the same way about it, until they did a Zatoichi homage in the most recent episode. Now, I'd say I kinda dig it.

I like it. I loved the comic, too, though.

I love it, but I was told to expect it would suck.

It's a perfect portrayal of black culture. If it were more satire, it'd be a better show. But as it stands, it just seems like for a half-hour, my TV becomes a window, and I'm just looking outside to the next city over where people are exactly like this.

Every time I watch this show it seems like it drags on for two hours. :( It's so boring.

I saw the last episode with the Nigga moment and thought it was hilarious.

i just liked charlie murphy as the white dude from the war:

"MOTHAFUCKAS LIKE, BLAKAKABLOOKAKABLOOKAKA!"

I've only seen the R. Kelly episode, which I could watch forever and not get bored!

I loved how they made him look like some corny supervillain, i thought that was fucking hilarious

boondocks is the worst anime i've ever seen

It's amusing. But I hope it doesn't get to the point chapelle did, ****** every three seconds, just because they can.
Still, its all good right now.

It's really not an anime. It's made in America and was created by Aaron McGruder, who just happens to use that style. I like how he mocks stereotypical anime fight scenes in the show, with flashy backgrounds and such. "aaaaaaeeeeeeRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! !!"

Charlie Murphy and Samuel L. Jackson as the gun-toting crazy white guys made me giggle. :(

i like the show

this show has it's moments, but they are few and far between. i couldnt care less if it got cancelled or not

i thought the monty python and pulp fiction references were cringe inducingly bad. holding up the islamic guy with no gun was fucking great though

I love the Boondocks.

I really don't see how being white makes any of the jokes hard to understand. While the show deals with other (especially rascist) themes, the whole thing seems to be one huge mockery of "gangsta" culture. McGruder even hints at the influence it has beyond blacks at times, with such characters as the hoe that hooked-up with Granddad and the gun-toting wiggers. Note that one of them is the son of a man who owns a large bank and that he will "be president one day."

I wish they would show it earlier, but they probably can't get away with it :(
