Save me!!!!!!!!!!!

Just went out to my local dump that is meant to be a rock club. To my horror, it was indie night. There really is only so much of the coral and the killers that I can take. Not to mention he was playing dance crap as well.

I've heard the club is closing down as well. Hmm could it be because they play crap music?? >:

What I want to know is, does this happen to you guys too?

1. You go out with your friends and the music is rubbish and even though the company is good, it just makes a dull night?

2. You are limited in where you can go to hear good music and any existing venues shut down after a few years.

It is quite sad really, there I was in my metal clober, twisted sister t'shirt and everything and I had to listen to sub standard music. I know each to their own, but there are so many clubs already in my town playing this crap, why can't I just have one place where I know I'm going to hear good rock and metal? Even 80s cheese would have been better than the crap they were churning out - most of which has probably inspired a hundred suicide attempts.

Crawling in my skin.

These wounds, they will not heal.

Emu Jan 7th, 2006 08:24 PM

Tried so hard, got so far.

In the end, it doesn't even matter.

Slinky Ferret Jan 7th, 2006 08:27 PM

>: fecking Linkin park.

Well, me...it’s nice talking to myself,
A credit to dementia.
Some day you too will know my pain,
And smile it’s blacktooth grin.
If the war inside my head
Won’t take a day off I’ll be dead.
My icy fingers claw your back,
Here I come again.

Name the song and the band!

Megadeth - Sweating Bullets

OH HOW OBSCURE. HOW. OBSCURE. OH. OH HOW OBSCURE.

I'm glad Megadeth got back together, though.

I've got this leather-bound Megadeth: Cryptic Writings #1 comic. It is the most hilariously awful comic that I own, and I own The Rock #1 as well. It's just scenes INSPIRED BY MEGADETH SONGS with the characters saying the lyrics in word bubbles. Classic.

Slinky Ferret Jan 7th, 2006 08:38 PM

:) Oh wow. Two of my friends would love to get their hands on those.

I still haven't seen megadeth. :( They were at ozzfest in '98 signing stuff but they didn't play. :(

Alice Cooper did a comic for The Last Temptation that was meant to tell the story of the album. Although I've heard it made it more confusing.

I've seen Alice Cooper twice now. Twisted Sister were amazing. :)

I need to see more bands, who do you recommend? Only five months of being a student left and I'd like something to look forward to.

Chojin Jan 7th, 2006 08:39 PM

I listen to more dance shit than anything these days, but try to see Blind Guardian in concert if you don't mind some cream in your jeans.

Slinky Ferret Jan 7th, 2006 08:44 PM

:/ I've tried the whole dance music thing but just don't enjoy it. I like technical music really at the end of the day, technical as in actually going somewhere.

But I guess I'm a rocker at heart.

Perhaps dance music is different in america, I don't think you have the same type of monotonous crap that we have over here. Normally written to make a quick buck.

Chojin Jan 7th, 2006 08:45 PM

Blind Guardian's a german metal band.

xbxDaniel Jan 7th, 2006 08:48 PM

We're not gonna take it.

We do, and it is.

i liked twisted sister ... when i was in the ninth grade.

Slinky Ferret Jan 8th, 2006 07:24 AM

I saw them in November when they were touring with Alice Cooper and I was thinking oh its just twisted sister they'll be cheesy.

But they were really, really good and heavy. It was so good, I want to see them again! :)

When I wanted heavy music, I used to go for bands like Skinless and Dying Fetus, but now it's Twisted Sister all the way! :(

ziggytrix Jan 13th, 2006 04:28 PM

I can not save you.

I can't even save myself.

Chojin Jan 14th, 2006 01:06 AM

All my friends are brown and red.

Slinky Ferret Jan 14th, 2006 06:53 AM

:( No-one believes me. They don't sound like they do on the records - all light distortion etc.

>sighs<

I liked them so there.

SUFFER Jan 14th, 2006 07:31 AM

go see GWAR everyone should see them at least once
other bands that always put on a good show are :
Lamb Of God
(surprisingly) static-x
matisyahu
mindless self indulgence
himsa
death by stereo
the red chord
every time i die
fromasecondstorywindow
fortheloveof
and thats all i can remember at the moment
oh yeah and back in the day Vision Of Disorder was fucking spectacular live
and so was hatebreed back in there*" not ever having the same drummer giving out the mic days "

*anyone confused about this sentence feel free to ask about it

Slinky Ferret Jan 14th, 2006 05:01 PM

I've heard of static x but not the others, then again I'm not exactly "with it" in regards to new (90s +) bands.

" not ever having the same drummer giving out the mic days "

Whats all that about then?

Is it anything like Lars Ulrich not being able to stay sat behind/and playing the drum kit for an entire song?

SUFFER Jan 14th, 2006 05:11 PM

hardcore bands used to have like a sing along thing
(which not as gay as it sounds)
they used to hand out the mic and let people sing part of the songs , not large portions just a few words here and there
people would fight for the mic , it was good for crowd participation
and about the drummer thing .........
they were a cursed band , ive seen them 13 different times and they only had the same drummer twice , now i believe they have a steady drummer
they would just dissapear according to the band , i think they eat them

ziggytrix Jan 14th, 2006 11:33 PM

Chojin, how do you segue Soundgarden out of Stabbing Westward? That's just wrong.

executioneer Jan 15th, 2006 07:14 AM

if that's wrong i don't want to be right
