Bjork - Volta

I apologize if a similar thread already exists.

I've never stopped liking Bjork, but I'm actually looking forward to this album in a way that I haven't looked forward to a Bjork album in a long time. I really need to catch up on her other stuff...

I saw her perform "Earth Intruders" on SNL and I'm psyched!

I haven't heard anything off the new album yet, but I found the last album to be a little disappointing. I liked it, but I didn't feel like it lived up to the potential I had imagined when I first heard about the concept.

well, a shitty 128k rip leaked out on the internet, it's listenable but it's going to be a lot better come release date. kudos for keeping it under wraps this long, and for it not being a good rip when it finally did leak. that's one of the most successful endeavors yet to keep an album from being put out there before its due.

so yeah, not much can be said, except for the fact that wanderlust is the clear standout, innocence and earth intruders are both top notch, declare independence is one of the most polarizing tracks she's done (i personally love it. it's not really supposed to be deep or subtle, it's just bjork screaming at the top of her lungs, and thats always cool) and that this album sounds like a cross between homogenic and drawing restraint but has the front looking an awful lot like the same colors post used.

it's going to be pretty damn good.

And it has the BEST COVER EVER!

okay, so it wasnt going to sound any different, but now that a proper, 320 rip is out, "declare independednce" is just that much more angry, the brass band on 'veertebrae by vertebrae' run straight through you like they do in the in the minimal version on "DR9 sndtrk" instead of hearing that compressive deterioration, konono no. 9 dont sound *so* lost in the mix of 'hope' anymore, and the sibilance isnt lost in digital fuzz.
