OVERKILL!!!

That's right, Overkill!!! They have been around for 15 years, and they are still going strong and carrying the torch for metal. Overkill puts the mallcore grabage to shame and play heavy music how it should be played. If you don't believe me, check out their early stuff (Years of Decay, Horrorscope) and their newer stuff (From the Underground and Below, Bloodletting, Killbox 13) and then you'll get the picture.

Tough call, but right now I'd probably have to say Faith No More.

Since tastes differ in the genre one gravitates toward and the qualities within that genre that would make one deem it the best, I see this as an issue that's destined never to be resolved. At least some of the other "Best" threads, although not narrowed down to a genre, at least had it narrowed down to an instrument. What do you mean by best? Best for YOU?

If Nirvana, Bad Religion, Jack Off Jill/Scarling, NIN and The Unseen all somehow merged into an uber band... that band would be the best band ever, and would also be able to seperate and recombine like those cool transformer sets that you could make with multiple transformers... good times.

Any band joined with Bad Religion would automatically suck shit, simply for the fact that BR is the greatest band of all time in the first place.

You obviously need to listien to better music, or just need a bullet to the skull. Either way is fine.

BR, although an awesome band, is not anywhere near the "greatest"
