The Obligatory Hitchhiker's Guide Topic
There always has to be one. Where people spend months discussing the Question. A Hitchhiker's Guide topic. And here it is.
WHAT THE HELL IS THE QUESTION OF LIFE, THE UNIVERSE, AND EVERYTHING??!! IM GONNA GO NUTS IF I CAN'T FIND OUT!!!!
Then you are an idiot & a fool. >:
Read ALL the books & The Question is obvious. |
I havent gotten to all of them yet, I am working on it.
I was really hoping no one would reply to this thread :(
Why is that, Proto??
I scraped my finger today and it really hurts because it torn off some skin near the cuticle. :(
Because this must be the fucking 12th Hitchhiker's Guide thread I've seen on the boards.
Instead of going to sleep, I read this book last night. Found it quite disappointing. I don't think I'll bother with the other three.
READ THE REST OR I WILL KICK YOUR ASS >:

"oh, no, not again..." |
Setho doesn't have to like Adams' style, Proto. As incomprehensible as that opinion may be, he's entitled to it. :)
It's not that I disliked his style, but I've read enough Vonnegut that it didn't strike me as original. Now that I've slept, I like the book more than when I first posted, but I still wouldn't treat it like the canon everyone's made it out to be.
canon? no. fun? yah. :love
I read the entire series of 5 books once a year. I absolutely love them. They gave me an entirely directly outlook on the universe and things. :)

You kids REALLY need to check out some Stanislaw Lem.
He is from Poland and is an internationally acclaimed master of speculative science fantasy. His novel 'A Perfect Vacuum' opened up brave new worlds for parody in this collection of perfect yet imaginary reviews of nonexistent books. Very very intelligent and mordantly satirical, Lem was honorarily inducted into the American Sci-Fi Writers Association in the 1970s, only to later be booted out once some of his earlier essays were translated into English. These essays criticized the piss-poor quality of most American Science Fiction and said that Phillip K. Dick (one of my other favorite authors) was our only saving grace. |
you should start a new thread, deary.
